  1. Agree. Our "star" players all look scared to engage. While I have issues with some of his choices and systems I see why green plays some of the combos he does, just to get some players that can hit and engage playing vs. turning away from hits, willing to drive to hard places, etc.
  2. 3 words Shorty has used the most in broadcasting: ..."failed to clear"
  3. Wait, what that's still allowed. I thought there was a rule change.
  4. On the plus side - a decent period for a home opener of a new team with lots of hype. On the neg side: If I see one more canuck pull up on a hit I'm going to scream Can we just put out pylons for the pk and pp they would move more
  5. Like many over the past day I've been researching more about this player to see what he will bring. From what I am hearing we landed a defenseman who can rack up points, plays more often than naught against the other teams top players and is constantly positive +/-. We have this player locked up for 5 more years @ under 6m which from the above sounds like a very team friendly term/cost. Topping this all off, we only paid a 3rd in two years. Then this guy gets on a zoom call and puts his heart on a sleeve and shows he's human. Already a fan.
  6. Agreed, would have been nice to get something for him, but if the other managers know his contract is up, what's a guy to do. Don't think this would be so much of a problem but the expansion draft exasperates the issue of keeping him regardless of price (assuming you believe Demko is our goalie of the future).
  7. While Edler is playing great overall, there is something about the PK where he always seems to struggle to clear the zone.
  8. A bit, but it was to be expected. We still have a lot of young men out there. They don't have the body mass and the Blues play a very heavy game. Watch along the boards. More often then not, the younger Canucks just put their stick in for the puck. The blues players use both their sticks and bodies as they go through the puck. Ignore the refs called this, call that etc, and alot of the game is just a bigger team using their weight. I was very impressed how the younger players did against Min. but the grinding of the playoffs will take its toll on them. It a great learning curve for them. I just hope that they can win one more (or more :>) for their efforts.
