Had the same amount of points as Nick Ritchie when he got drafted. Not saying they they are the same players but I wonder if Jonah would project the similarly ? I have not watched any of Jonahs games but reading up on both players maybe he sounds like a less skilled/lighter version of Ritchie. Jonah mucks it up in front of the net more in Junior while Ritchie used his power to make plays. Both will have to live around the net in the NHL so I wonder if the comparison is not too much of a reach ?

Anyone know if the Canucks have plans to hire a new goalie coach for Utica to help Demko keep developing?

2017 NHL Draft - Chicago, Illinois June 23-24 2017

The media makes a huge deal when a high profile NCAA players stays 4 years and goes to free agency but it hardly ever happens. Just off the top of my head White, Boeser, Keller, Jost, Connor are all high profile guys that stayed with their teams. Hutton and Demko stayed 3 years and still signed with us. If you go through the entire draft im sure like 90% stay with their teams maybe 5% go to free agency because their team decide not to sign them and maybe the last 5 percent actually change teams. Out of that 5% maybe one or two make an actual impact in the NHL. -
Olli had a good playoffs from the part games and shift by shifts I saw of him. Now he can have a bit of a break and get training for main camp!

how are people watching? Anyone got a stream?

Ralph Krueger just got linked to the Canucks but isnt on this guys list. I wonder how accurate this info is or if the Ralph Krueger connection holds any truth. . -

This would be pretty interesting if true. Does anyone know if he is actually legit ? -
I've only seen highlights and the shift by shifts that are out there but but I see what you are seeing. I think if everything goes right for him he has the hands to be a top 6 forward but would be pretty happy if he turned out like Hansen.
-
Don't think he will ever be a big hitter but I think this video shows that Olli is definitely not soft. Not afraid to get physical along the boards at all.
-
....maybe if you are talking about a 18 or 19 year old rookie....not a 25 year old Swedish Elite league MVP....the eyes did not deceive....trust me on this one. I watched the pre-season too. We can agree to disagree
-
I dont think anyone should take a lot of stalk in pre-season... a lot of people look good in pre-season then 20 games into the regular season you realize they are duds.
-
Saw him get dropped by an upper cut and trolled into taking a penalty
-
didnt seem indisputable to me..

oh wow I wasn't arguing I just said you're entitled to your opinion meaning that your opinion is valid and my post saying Mete is better than Olli Offensively was is response to someone saying Mete is better than Olli overall. So i was trying to say sure Mete is good at one thing but there are many other aspects of being a dman that Olli is much better at. One example is I think Olli is a much better facilitator of offense with his ability to get the puck out of the dzone and up ice to forwards cleanly. This doesn't always show up on the score sheet but does help generate offense in a different way. While Mete can skate the puck up, jump into the play more and act like a fourth forward so hes going to score more goals and get more points. Then I mentioned the interview to you so you could check out the source I got my information from. Im pretty new here so ill try to be more clear with my future post I guess. Not trying to get people bent out of shape or anything. PS your friends comment low key hit a nerve. Recently moved to a new city and dont have anyone to talk Canucks with ! lol please dont shame me out of here its all I got for now haha

I'm basing this off a London sports reporter that was interviewed on 1040 but everyone is entitled to their opinion
-
Thats how radio works. Morning guys are suppose to stir the pot and create talking points for the day. They are just doing their job.
-
thats the point I was trying to make
-
Im not sure if Mete has outplayed Juolevi. In that Pyette interview on 1040 he said that Juolevi and Mete play on different D pairings but both play around 25 mins a night. Mete is better offensively than Juolevi but that is it.

http://sherwin-williamstopprospects.ca/video/cody-glass-profile If you go to 1:24 mark of the video on the page (which is Glass's player profile from the top prospects game) Dan Marr director of NHL central scouting gives a short scouting report of Glass's game. He says Glass has real good jump and dynamic speed in his game, plays the game at speed and with pace, quick hands, quick read and react, smart at the net to finish, can finish chances. -

He was also out the first few months of his season with mono. His season is a little dissapointing but I take into consideation that its a tough illness to come back from -
look at the Pyette interview on the 1040 website. He said he was surprised when Olli went before Tkachuk and said he thought it was because Canucks went with a positional pick instead of BPA
-
If you look in his thread people post his faceoff numbers after a lot of games. A lot of the time its above 50%
