  1. He’s already had twice the production of Peterka, so I dont think BUF would be counting on an improvement. Just noting that I think there is a good chance of his production being even better than it is currently. Horvat is not known for his ability to set up his wingers. And Boeser has been moved around so much this season, I don’t think it’s as simple as saying he’s always had good line mates.
  2. That's your biggest issue? haha. So he signs an ELC for 1 season (likely lasting just a few days at the very end of this current season) and then we resign him on a less than $1m contract for 2 years. Seems quite plausible.
  3. Perhaps. But BUF are 2 wins out of a wild card spot, so they may be tempted to make an improvement before the TDL. BUF are running with Peterka as their 2nd line winger, who has only 19 pts in 51 games. Boeser, who is having a down season, has scored 36 pts in 48 games. A 2nd round pick (the one they got from VGK) is cheap for a young top 6 winger. And I think Cozens play would ignite Boeser's offense.
  4. Thanks for your thoughts. 1. the 2nd rounder also includes dumping Khudobin's $3.33m salary for the Stars cup run 2. Greenway's value is at an all time low right now (6 pts in 39 games), MIN has been reported as looking to move his contract due to their cap issues next season. MIN gets 3 young roster players in the deal. 3. Foote is 3rd pairing guy in TBL. He will not get anything more from TBL due to their cap issues, but he may be interested in playing top pairing minutes alongside Hughes on a team that his father coaches. Pressure to trade for a goal scorer like Boeser will be ramping up at the TDL. Not surprised that a deal hasn't been done yet, but firmly believe his value is easily a 2nd round pick.
  5. I'd love to see some aggressive moves to reshape our roster for next season, as well as increasing the number of higher round picks in the upcoming drafts, and creating cap flexibility for the future. I would like to see our team become bigger, tougher, meaner, and better defensively. Basically get the support players that our inner core of Petey, Hughes & Demko need to succeed. The proposed roster next season is not meant to be a long term perennial contender, just a stepping stone to becoming a playoff team. The young players added in trades, in addition to extra draft picks will be critical to future success. Before the 2023 TDL: Prior to end of 2023 season: Sign Jake Livingstone to 3 year ELC ($950k) and burn 1-year of contract to secure him. Transactions in the offseason: Picks in upcoming drafts: Signings for next season: Roster: Significant Prospects not shown on Roster: Morrow Raty Lekkerimaki Aman Klimovich McDonough Rathbone Johansson Jurmo Silovs
  6. My guesses... East Arms Race: Meier --------> Devils Boeser ------> Sabres Domi ---------> Hurricanes Athanasiou --> Penguins Klingberg ----> Toronto West Arms Race: Chychrun ---> Kings P Kane -----> Vegas Gavrikov----> Stars Johnson ----> Avalanche Ghost --------> Oilers Braun --------> Oilers JVR ----------> Avalanche Bjugstad ------> Stars Korpisalo -----> Vegas
  7. Yes Capfriendly has it listed as a m-NTC/NMC I think that means they can't move him to the AHL, but they can trade him. He has a 10 team trade list (i.e. 21 team no trade list).
  8. I know you're joking with this, but I think some people seriously believe Lucic would waive to come to VAN in his (likely) last season...instead of having a shot at the playoffs with Calgary...
  9. Connor Ingram (ARI) has also been very good in front of a terrible team
  10. Yes agreed. And the return for Miller can pair with Hughes and anchor our third line
  11. I think you are too focused on Miller's offense that you can't see beyond it. Defense is what this team needs. Miller's a good player, but we're not winning anything in the next few years. Who is going to replace Miller's offense in 3 years time when he declines?
  12. I would not trade Miller for KK straight up. Has to include a potential top 4 Dman. I'm sure they like KK but I have also heard reports that they want more of an offensive spark for their 2nd line. Actually CAR can afford both Miller and KK if they wanted to keep him. Then I'd say we'd be looking at Morrow + pick coming our way
  13. Yes, VAN let's in too many goals - you have it now! So I think we need to fix the defense. One way to do that is to trade Miller for a young (potentially top 4) Dman and I would be willing to bring back salary in the deal in the form of a 22 year old former #3 overall pick center who has demonstrated that he is a good 200 ft player. I'm not sure what is hard to grasp here.
  14. KK is regularly used as KotKaniemi's nickname. He was drafted by MTL and then offer sheeted by Carolina (not traded). CAR then offered him an 8 year deal, which he is partway through the first year of. Has 7 years remaining after this, just like Miller. KK will actually be Miller's current age when he reaches the end of that contract. I would trade Miller for KK and Morrow in a heartbeat. The main reason is Morrow. The second reason is that I believe Miller will not be a great player in 4 years time, whereas KK has the ability and potential to be very good in 2-3 years time. You asked how I would replace Miller's offense? Firstly, this would be achieved at even strength like this: KK knows how to play a 200 ft game, his oiGA/60 at even strength is 1.9 goals this season, and his oiGF/60 = 2.3. By comparison, at even strength, Miller's oiGA/60 = 3.5 and oiGF/60 = 2.5. So Miller let's in almost twice as many goals as KK (3.5 vs 1.9) at ES, with only a small drop in production for KK (2.3 vs 2.5) compared to Miller. Secondly, about half of Miller's points are from the PP time he gets. I am confident that a different player (not necessarily KK) will pick up similar points to Miller if given the opportunity to play on the PP with Petey, Hughes & Kuz.
  15. KK's never been traded. But yes I'd take a flyer on 7 years of KK vs 7 years of Miller.
