Durzi would be a real nice piece to have, the Kings fan base and media types also love the kid but want to move him out to secure a physical, reliable defenseman. Joel Edmundson has been on the Kings radar for some time and even then people in the Kings market feel the Kings might need to add to Durzi to get a deal done so I think if we are looking at what they need right now, Schenn does fit the bill.

Ya I don’t think we could pry turcotte and durzi tho more what I think it’d be Turcotte Granz 2023 2nd

Knowing this and what Vancouver suggests they are targeting do you think the Canucks would be looking at Sean Durzi ? He is someone the Kings likely will need to move off of anyways as their prospect pool emerges.

Taking it a step further the Kings fans at the least are screaming for a physical blueliner to keep the opposition honest. Maybe a package of Horvat and Schenn to Los Angeles ?

    To Kings:

    F Bo Horvat (50% retention)

    D Luke Schenn

    To Canucks:

    F Alex Turcotte

    D Sean Durzi

    F Jaret Anderson-Dolan

    2023 Penguins 3rd round pick

    D Otto Salin

Moving Horvat you gain a top prospect in Turcotte, Sean Durzi as the right handed puck mover and offensive dman and the Canucks grab Pittsburgh's 3rd in 23'. The Schenn element brings in Jaret Anderson-Dolan and a right handed puck moving good skating maybe under the radar dman in Otto Salin.

Turcotte, Durzi, Anderson-Dolan could all be roster players next season but not bump this club after the loss of Horvat and Schenn this season for those worried about tanking.

Maybe the 3rd is not high enough ? maybe dman Otto Salin is not sexy enough. But my gut tells me this would be too rich for the Kings as already put together.

If this trade was available I think Ruthford would drive bo straight to airport

I think your captain should be who you look to on the bench when you're down by a goal late in the game (or up by 1 if you wanna talk about a defenceman). Last year that was JT Miller, he drove the bus and ran the show.

This year that power has shifted very quickly to Petey. No one would expect Miller to change a game (for the best lol) late in a game whereas if the puck is on Petey's stick in the slot, everyone knows the game might change. He's our star now.

Even Bo, despite all his goals, doesn't really have that impact but Bo obviously does a lot of other stuff for the team. I think if/when Bo goes, Petey is ready for the C.

If we're a mess next year I'm all for a year of 3 or 4 alternate captains but the subsequent year, if or when we're realistically trying to make a run for the playoffs, you want it to be Petey.

I think we need to sign Bo and move miller and boeser

    To Wild  Boeser

    To Canucks Dumba

    To Detroit Jt miller
To Vancouver Jonathan Berrgren William wallinder

well, I had a long post written out, then the chromebook died and I lost it, so here's the abridged version

    Van

    Miller

    Carolina

Jarvis- he's the sweetener for taking KK.  Smaller winger, but dynamic and makes other wingers expendable

KK - cap and doing Carolina a favour.  That said, he's only 22 and still developing.  Good 3C and might up his value as an asset.

1st - in the 25-32 range likely, but could be packaged to move up.

    Van

    Miller

    Detroit

Suter, expiring contract to make it more palatable

Kasper - the real prize.  Decent sized, 8th overall pick, depth down the middle for a long time.

1st - probably in the 20 range.  Should be good dmen in that spot, or packaged to move up

    Van

    Miller

    Washington

    Eller - expiring contract

Iorio - local (coquitlam), big, young solid 2way RD.....exactly the kind of player they need.  Maybe have to include woo or rathbone?

    1st - 15-20 range probably

    Van

    Miller

    NJ

Severson - cap, but might be a good re-sign candidate depending on his ask

Nemec - swng for the fences, but probably untouchable

    or

Mercer - makes them very deep down the middle, and Mercer is more like a 2B and getting better

I hope that would be the return we cannot afford dump miller or horvat. I like Kapanen Pierre Oliver Joseph for miller.

If those are your expectations, I think you're going to be very disappointed. The Toronto suggestion is probably the most reasonable one.

From Columbus, if they are willing to offer up Jiricek it's likely only as a one-for-one (maybe a mid round pick throw in).

From Detroit and Carolina you're asking for their top prospect plus their top young center and then a 1st on top of that. We would be lucky with 2 out of 3.

I still feel the best comparable for a possible Horvat trade is the Giroux trade last year. Highly touted but slightly struggling young player/prospect, a 1st, and a 3rd. If the Canucks are somehow able to get more than that it's a robbery.

Not at all giroux was well past his prime were talking about bonfide top 6 centre top 5 in draws and great in his own zone I think package will be similar to rangers package we go for 1st top prospect and 3rd line centre

One big issue is this team has is serious trouble breaking out of their zone. I'm pretty sure Rutherford said the same thing at the end of last season and yet it has been worse. Literally the only guy that can carry the puck out of the zone is Hughes. As a coach, you need to think of new strategies or something to give the back end support on the breakouts. Right now all we see are defenceman making awful stretch passes or just dumping it out and hoping a forward can get it.

That’s been our issue for 3 years and no gm has done anything about it in deepest draft in last 6 years we need sell off Garland boeser myers horvat for young defense and picks in this draft and go all in on this draft

Take away three starters from any teams D core and it would look awful.

I agree it needs improvement but judging it when there’s this many injuries is silly.

But yet will play young guys on 4th line and give 2nd round picks away for cap dumps instead of fixing our biggest need in last 2 years I had enough of it

  8. Just now, BlakeQuinnAndEggs said:

Relax. Why let players walk for nothing?

PA and Alvinn can make trades you know

And they didn’t they should of traded boeser or Garland for borderline top 4 d well also bringing in d in free agency instead he trades 2nd round pick get rid of Player there’s no way 2nd garland/boeser doesn’t bring us back good defencemen without improvements on back end the Canucks are fringe wildcard team

  9. 1 hour ago, Mustard Tiger said:

Why even try to point the finger about fixing the D? The costs for any age dman is soo far out of our price range we would be taking a massive hit in one area for a slight gain in another.

Zero rush. The "rush" can begin in 2 years when all the dead weight falls off for free

Like I’ve suggested multiple times the offseason plan should of been to fix our d First. He’s done absolutely nothing to fix it and should be held accountable if your telling me 2023 2nd or 3rd Garland Hoglander can’t fetch a top 4 D your crazy. He cleared zero cap space a guy like Jan Rutta would of been low risk high reward signing.

  10. 23 minutes ago, VegasCanuck said:

6.5 would be low, I'm hoping that we can land him around 6.9 on 8 year deal.

You won't find another guy on the open market with his skillset. In free agency, he's about 7.5 - 7.75, maybe as high as 8.

He won’t come under 7. So either Alvin needs put his money where his mouth is and get work fixing our D well paying top dollars for our centres or trade him to fix our d. It has to be done before season we can’t run risk of losing him or the distraction on the team. Either way this team isn’t good enough defensively so Alvin has a lot work to do.

  11. 1 hour ago, Shayster007 said:

I don't disagree with any of that, except I hope the contract comes in for less. I think Bo will be 7 or less, long term. Fingers crossed.

I entirely agree we aren't good enough defensively. 100%. Pearson is a warrior and does his job, but he is replaceable. I don't know what to think about Dickinson, but don't want to pay to dump him.

I also agree Garland is the most obvious trade candidate. I'm still one of the few would would go back and reverse the OEL/Garland trade in a heartbeat. I like Garland, don't get me wrong, but we need some better defensemen in a badway.

I’d love a deal of Garland Dermott for Mayfield Cizikas.

  12. 38 minutes ago, Shayster007 said:

    Oh yeah. Lock Cap down.

Bo will not come less then 7. The deal will be around 7.5x8 years with modified Nmc. Which leaves us with Zero cap for next year. One of Pearson Or Dickson have to go. He also needs say bye Garland and hit nice D men with that deal. The Canucks are just not good enough defensively right now.

  13. 28 minutes ago, Devron said:

We all wasted our time for practically a year making Miller trade proposals. We be wasting our time in this one too.

I’ll say it again. Bo is a Canuck for life!

If He plans on having Miller Petey Horvat down middle he better get on some deals to move out Garland Boeser for Top 6 defencemen with getting rid of Dickson cap hit. If they lock up horvat they essentially have no cap going into next offseason with bottom 15 Defence.

  14. 15 minutes ago, Pears said:

Considering he was really advocating to trade Miller for Petry and Anderson I don’t think he knows much of anything.

Well Canucks we’re simply not good enough last year and it was cause of our Defense. Petey Has been at his best driving his own line it’s clear. So if we’re gonna pay Horvat 7 plus million to be 3rd line centre and improve our D there has to be some other serious moves coming. We simply are not gonna enough defensively to be playoff team.

This is probably the best way imo. We will get maximum production from both Miller and Petey this way.

Sadly not the best production we got out of Petey is centering his own line. So best thing for Canucks do is Run Miller Petey Bo down middle. if Canucks are okay paying Bo 6 plus mil to play 15-18 minutes on third line We need move out 2 other contracts.
