  1. I agree. At the same time I think a slow start for them (and the whole team) is a good thing. These guys need to WORK every single night and figure out how to finish or else...they'll prove all the prognosticators right.
  2. They will. Cap'n BO will carry the team on his back next Wednesday
  3. Lots of new guys in the lineup and a spread out schedule. It'll come
  4. No thanks. Any more might start affecting other areas of life
  5. Obviously hoping for a big win tonight but we'll be in tough against these guys after they lost to Colorado. Thinking Calgary 5-3 (empty netter).
  6. Me too. Something a little closer to the first would up the entertainment.
  7. Box seats tonight will make this last pre-season game a little more bearable. Just give us a win boys
  8. Hopefully it’s not his brain and just...the flu or something.
  9. Anyone else concerned about this "illness" Ferland continues to battle? The concussion history has me a little uncomfortable with the whole thing. Article is from December 2018. https://www.tsn.ca/ferland-on-concussions-i-m-very-concerned-1.1224477 Carolina Hurricanes winger Micheal Ferland is expected to return to the team's lineup on Tuesday night after a four-game absence due to a concussion. Ferland was taken off injured reserve Monday, but said he is cognizant of the risks associated with playing after sustaining his second concussion “I mean, you’ve got to be concerned,” Ferland told the Raleigh News Observer. “It’s your life.” The 26-year-old leads the Hurricanes with 11 goals this season and has 15 points through 24 games. He also leads the team with 81 hits this season and Ferland recognizes his physical style could lead to more head injuries. "A hundred percent, you have to be concerned," Ferland said. "I’m very concerned.” Ferland last played on Nov. 27 against the Montreal Canadiens. He logged 12:37 of ice time in the contest over 20 shifts and completed the game, but started feeling off afterward. “I think I finished the night with five hits and after the game something didn’t feel right,” the Canes forward said Monday. “I had concussion symptoms, feeling in a fog, things like that.” The Hurricanes winger acknowledged he could have hid his symptoms from the team and league, since there was nothing in the game film to suggest he was injured, but said he knew the risks of playing with a playing with a head injury. “But you’re more vulnerable to getting real hurt,” Ferland said. “After the Montreal game I wasn’t feeling good. If I had kept playing and I’d have taken a serious hit... That’s where the concern is.” A veteran of 274 NHL contests, Ferland sustained his first concussion in 2014 while with the Calgary Flames. He spent Monday's practice on a line with Clark Bishop and Brock McGinn.
  10. Reminds me of Kes in the background of teamate's interviews. Brings back all the old feels
  11. Or iMac. All those guys are such tools. It's like they're trying to get in and mess with the players heads with the questions they ask. I'd be more inclined to read their stories if they treated the players with a little respect.
  12. I appreciate it. I spent ten years in Kelowna and was always bummed that going to a game was an eeaaassy thousand bucks all in. We live about a ten minute walk from rogers now and go to a handful of games every year. What I love most though is how often I run into the guys just walking around downtown and get to have casual conversations. And Petey living in my building last season is hard to complain about. It was fun chatting with him a few times...even though I never got the invite just to hang out...was kinda hoping for that ;-)
  13. They’re trying Quinn at centre tonight?! That’s a bold move by Greener.
  14. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/canucks-boeser-compromise-difficult-decisions-lie-ahead/ Frickin Imac. Dubas gets praised for signing Marner to a ridiculously bad contract. Benning gets dumped on for some rare sanity and an actual ability to negotiate. But there is also an uncomfortable truth after these negotiations: if the Canucks were convinced that Boeser is a long-term cornerstone, they’d have found a way to pay him now on a six- or seven-year deal. But Vancouver has Horvat, 24, Pettersson, 20, and defenceman Quinn Hughes, 19, to build around, too, and management will have to make difficult value choices in the future. They are not wed to Boeser. “We looked at trying to do a longer-term deal,” Benning said. “At the end of the day, I guess doing a shorter-term deal puts some responsibility back on him now to come in and have three good years and then try to sign long-term after that. “He’s one of our core, young players that we want to build the team around.” Yes, but will they?
