  1. That was exactly my thoughts haha. Oh look he is on the ice, gets a shot through, makes a good pass, now we wont see him for 2 more minutes lol.
  2. I feel like he is barely playing. I see him on the ice and then it seems like 3 or 4 rotations before he gets back on the ice.
  3. I have yet to notice Juolevi in a bad way. He does have offensive instincts that's for sure.
  4. I would love to say yes, but as far as I saw, no . . . . .
  5. Fair enough. Just seems like the directive is take a slot shot or move the puck to the left side high wall for Nylander. Could just be how this game went but that seemed to be the way it was drawn up in practice lol.
  6. Man does Pettersson slow the game down once the puck hits his stick. I also feel as though being used as the high man on the right point almost under utilizes his skill. But then I have not watched his SHL games so maybe that is how he is utilized there as well.
  7. Damn, Pettersson just hit the post on the wrap around try.
  8. That and it was his efforts off of the faceoff that started the whole process.
  9. Yep, Just drew a penalty with his great puck possession. He is so smooth with his play and he really liked to look to use his teammates. ** Edit ** Just got the second assist on the PP
  10. Belarus just scored shorthanded. Fault was with the D, they tried to get fancy.
  11. You can watch on the tsn go app. If you have cable you sign in with an email account linked to that account or with your online profile. I am using the in-laws account Watching on the tablet while I work haha.
  12. By the time it was evident that McCann needed to be sent down, he was playing a relief role higher up in the lineup than he was ever supposed to. Injuries i feel are what kept him in the lineup longer than he should have.
  13. Half of the posts on this board are redundant. The truth is if he is ready Ala Stecher or Hutton, then let the kid play and if he falters for a prolonged period then at that point send him down for a bit. He is also older and far more mature than either Virtanen or McCann where. This board is so bi-polar it's sad. In one thread its comments about keeping the kids in the AHL, the next it's people combining about why "X" player has not yet been given a chance when they are also only 20-22 and still progressing as players in the AHL. People need to just accept that every player is different and that no season will be the same as the ones that came prior.
  14. Yes, but he has had 1, count them 1 AHL season, even at that it was a 3/4 season. The Comets struggled to score all season long, it was not just Virtanen, it was a team wide lack of skill. Demko was winning them 1-0 games FFS. He had his entire game deconstructed down to the basics by Green. In the long run it was for the best, but his focus was not putting up points, when some points did come it was simply a bonus of playing the right way every second of every game. Even Green has noted that Jake was snake bitten for large portions of the season and if he had been getting the bounces he would have put up much more respectable numbers. Everyone complains he should have been in the AHL last year ( even though he couldn't ) and then this year its that he didn't do well enough. He lost a year of development and confidence. For Christs sake . . . . . . . . . . . .
  15. Agreed. This is where I think hiring Green will be a good thing going forward for the Canucks. He seems a bit more adaptable then ol Willie D . If something is not working instead of tempting insanity and repeating it over and over hopping for something different he changes it up. Also, again this year was a write off points wise for Virtanen. He had to drop a good number of pounds. Relearn his timing, work on his positioning, intensity and compete level all while trying to build offensive confidence. If he does play another year in the AHL I think a 30 goal 20 assist campaign is not out of the question for him. If he makes the Canucks to stat the year I could see 15 G's 15 A's. Which for a player of his nature is something that can be built on as the team gets deeper, even younger and more skilled.
  16. Also if you look at the contract's Benning has signed ( Sutter / Eriksson ) by the time the team is ready to make some noise in the playoffs their Modified NTC's kick in allowing Benning the flexibility to move them if need be.
  17. If Dahlen & Goldobin can both be top 6 wingers for this team going forward, then this years TDL is going to go down as one of the best ever for this team. It's Exciting to finally see some youth take shape. Horvat, Boeser, Stecher, Goldobin, hopefully Dahlen with Virtanen and Juolevi at some point + whoever we draft this year ( Please be Patrick / Hischier ) , the core of this team could really start to solidify itself as early as the 18-19 season. If even one or two of the players like, Gaudette, Lockwood, Briesbois, Etc. can make the team over the next 2-3 years I think people will start to forget about year 1 and 2 of Bennings tenure.
  18. Green himself said Virtanen's game was deconstructed so that they could rebuild ( ) his game into one that would bring him success. A process like that is going to take its tole on a player offensively as he had to relearn his timing and his positioning and completely change the way the thinks the game. It's all for his betterment but it means this years offensive totals are a wash in the grand scheme of things.
  19. He has been quotes as saying that improving his skating is one of, if not the biggest thing he wants to work on going forward. So there that.
  20. If Jake come into camp on a mission to prove himself and he does, then let him start with the Canucks, but then hopefully if he starts to waiver Management doesn't hesitate to re-evaluate and possibly send him back to the AHL for a bit to keep him focused. All conjecture at this point on what may happen, but its all we have right now .
  21. Could be a decision based on money and comfortably if he does decide to go to the KHL for a year or two. Would make more money in the KHL than in the AHL and would be closer to Family and Friends. I think he knows he needs to develop some more and get stronger before he could crack the Canucks, so even if its 1 year in the KHL before coming back and putting a year or less in at the AHL level no harm no foul.
  22. Tryamkin was more friendly giant than anything, which was sad because when he decided to play mean and tough he was unstoppable, for all of that single 30 seconds to 1 minute shift, then he would go right back to friendly giant again. His 2.2 hits per game is about what Gudbranson averages, soooo, yah. With a full year of Dorsett and Quads we will be fine.
