  1. agree with you last point. Schneider pulled Gausman too early. There were 2 out when Schneider pulled Gausman. Gausman looked still poised and could have pitched even the seventh inning. O.K. admit that there were several miscues that led to the meltdown, but pulling Gausman in this game situation was for sure one of the reasons.
  2. I guess Jeff Paterson is going to open a bottle of champagne. Jeff couldn't stand Ray at all. One reason might be that Ray has been throwing the Canucks under the bus for quite some time. Well, Ray mentioned in the podcast Sekeres & Price that the corona measures for crossing the border bothered him and that at some time he gave up counting the test he had made. . No more corona testing for Ray - . I guess that's something is going to celebrate
  3. another prediction for the upcoming season. Not sure if we should take this bold prediction from Frank Seravalli seriously. Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff: Some bold predictions for this season. Bruce Boudreau will be the first coach fired this season and Kelly McCrimmon will be the first GM fired.
  4. How often do you get the chance to pick a legitimate Top 4 D-Man from the waiver wire? To acquire a top 4 D-Man via trade cost you at least a 2nd round pick + a prospect. Time to act immediately.
  5. Thomas Drance on Donnie's and Dhali " Jim Rutherford specifically and personally spent time making sure they landed this person (Rachel) for the front office." Rachel's departure is a blow for Jim Rutherford. How is it possible that one of the most experienced GM's in this league hired the wrong person in Rachel Doerrie?
  6. One of Rachel Doerrie's legendary quotes: “Either way you slice it, Steve Yzerman and Joe Sakic are playing 5-D chess, and Jim Benning is gluing macaroni pieces to construction paper,” Doerrie said. Regardless what you think about her she nailed it.
  7. The QH experiment on the right side which lasted exactly 3 games is telling you something about Canucks management (JR and Allvin). Time to give OEL the opportunity to shine on the right side.
  8. someone around having recommendations for the next tenbaggers? Feedback is very much appreciated.
  9. unreal that Robertson wasn't selected in the first round. Can't believe that so many GM's and scouts were wrong in their assessment about the prospect. Canucks picked Kole Lind at #33 and Dallas Stars picked Robertson at #39 in the second round of the 2017 NHL entry draft.
  10. Jay Woodcroft about team bonding - the players that caught the biggest fish - preseason - expectations on the game against the Canucks and goaltender Skinnner. Interesting.
  11. Prices for CDS for Credit Suisse (CS) skyrocketed and exceeded even the price for CDS during the Lehman crisis. Nevertheless the situation for Credit Suisse isn't as dramatic as you think based on some comments on social media. CEO will lay out the restructuring plan on October 27, 2022. It's quite common that rumors are swirling around before this plan will be announced. CS is facing the same challenges as other banks with shrinking revenues and relativley high overhead costs that can be cut only over time. Based on the reports I read there is only a remote risk that CS will go bankrupt. I don't get the rumors regarding Deutsche Bank on social media, because the bank has recorded profits for several quarters in a row. From a financial standpoint of view (Balance sheet and income statement) Deutsche Bank is rock solid. Management has a proven track record when it comes to managing the risk exposure. The following summary is illustrating one of the reasons for Tesla's Q3 miss on deliveries. BYD sold 3 times more EV''s than Tesla during the first eight months on the biggest market for EV's - China - .
  12. that's the price we all have to pay around the globe for the war in Ukraine - sorry for Putin's war - . Canadians are freaking out because of the steep increase in prices but hey what should we do in Germany where the gas prices for heating quadrupled. Wondering what the Canadians would do in case of a quadrupling in prices. Jumping from one of their many bridges in full despair? Only one possibility out of many.
  13. I really think that you'll get what you were told. One of basic principals of investing is amplified in Mutual funds which is the diversification. Mutual Funds invest in stocks, bonds and other securities and are therefore highly diversified. Especially in turbulent times like these a solid and safe investment. Here's what I really like about your investment: 1. diversification. 2. mid- term / long - term perspective 3. you add shares of MF to your account on a monthly basis 4. you put your money to work I am not sure about the performance of MF in the past. Did they show you at least a summary outlining the performance of MF in the past?
  14. you decided to visit the famous Oktoberfest in Munich and you want to impress the locals with your knowledge about the Munich beer brands. Here's what you need to know. The picture illustrates the six largest Munich beer brands that are served in several tents on the Oktoberfest. You see the different symbols for each beer brand on the front side of the beer mug. From left to right: Augustiner - Hacker Pschorr - Hofbräu - Löwenbräu - Paulaner and Spaten. There's only one tent that serves Löwenbräu and only one tent that serves Hofbräu but there are at least three tents that serve Spaten und at least two tents that serve Paulaner.
  15. taking the buffalo bills . This is gonna be a fun game against the Miami Dolphins.
  16. I have a ton of respect for all the waitresses on the Munich Oktoberfest carrying hundreds / thousands of beer mugs per day. Can't even imagine how sore their arms and hands must feel at the end of the working day. Extremely hard work no doubt about it but well paid. Heard that a waitress is making EUR 4,000 to EUR 10,000 in only two weeks on the Oktoberfest.
  17. Hmm, not sure if I would agree on the predatory pricing of companies. The following chart is telling you the opposite. In fact the producer prices significantly increased over the last two years. It's only fair from a standpoint of a company to pass the increased production cost on to consumers.
  18. It's a dramatic development when all of a sudden the cost of goods and services goes up 20-30% across the board no doubt about it. Just one example. My favourite dish for lunch at a vietnamese restaurant was Euro 9.90 and now it is EUR 12,90. That's increase of more than 30%. Another example is gas. Just read that almost 10% of people in Germany won't be able to settle the gas bill. I am talking about the gas for heating. Due to the latest development many people are trying to get better paid jobs. Headhunter and recruiting staff in companies report that the first question from potential workers is how much the salary for the job is. .
  19. The tents on the Oktoberfest are huge. The largest tent is the Hofbräu-Tent with a capacity of about 10,000 people. The following image shows the US ambassador Amy Gutmann on the first day of the Oktoberfest in one of the tents.
  20. The well known Oktoberfest in Munich kicked off today. Truly amazing that hundreds of people lined up in front of the entrance 6 hours ! before the official start of the Oktoberfest to get a seat in one of the tents. Here are two images I would like to share to give you guys a feel for how this looks like. This guy receives standing ovations from the crowd for drinking a full mug of beer without taking a breath. Well deserved. The mayor of Munich has the honor of tapping the wooden barrel of beer in one of the tents to kick - off the Oktoberfest. The barrel is full with "Spaten" beer. Spaten is one of the largest breweries in Munich.
