[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Wolfgang Durst replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If Trocheck ends up in NYR they won't pursue JT Miller any longer. Trocheck makes a lot of sense for the Rags. He demands less money and term compared to JT Miller and NYR get him without loosing any assets. -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

Philly would have to move out JVR contract to create the necessary cap space for a signing of Gaudreau. Both players can't be signed by Philly given their current cap space. Johnny hockey most likely ends up in Jersey, though. -

regarding the JT Miller trade to the Isles that blew up late: " About an hour or so following the draft, NYI Hockey Now learned from a league source that Allvin asked for an additional piece in the Islanders trade package, and Lamoriello was not too fond of that move. He nixed the trade. The pieces of the possible deal are not known … if there ever was a deal. On the Islanders’ side, the assumption is that the 13th pick was in play. That would have not been enough to get the deal done, but it’s a great starting point." here is the link for the full read: https://nyihockeynow.com/new-york-islanders-jt-miller-lou-lamoriello-patrik-allvin-vancouver-canucks/ -

Rumor that Lou targeting JT Miller has legs: -
They would have drafted Slavkovsky with their 2nd overall pick but Habs threw a wrench in their plan. Le Brun tweeted that Devils wanted to trade down after Habs selected Slaf. Watched two videos with Treliving talking about the current status of Tkachuk and Johnny Hockey. His focus / plan A is to resign both. Curious to see how this will play our for the Flames.

Korchinski taken at 7 by the Chicago Blackhawks was probably the biggest surprise of this draft. I read a draft ranking that had him at 3, but all other draft rankings had him outside the top - 10. Like very much how Korchinski drives play from behind, that's probably his greatest asset along with his skating and mobility.

For his further development it is important that he plays in a competitive environment and faces quality D-Men. Just look at players like Seider and Kasper. Both enjoyed a long playoff run with Rögle BK and facing quality opposition on the international level whilst playing against the best european teams in the Champions hockey league. Seider had his breakthough in Sweden playing for Rögle BK. That's exactly the environment Lekkerimäki needs for his further development. It's manageable for players to get out of their contracts with European teams. There have been numerous examples for players that agreed with management to terminate the contract in order to pursue other career avenues. I really think Djurgardens management would be open for Lekkerimäki's request to play for a team in the SHL because it's important for his development. Göteborg, Frölunda or Rögle are also lovely places, it does not need to be Stockholm. In my opinion Lekkerimäki could make the Canucks team after another season playing in the SHL with a top - team. As a young prospect you need to face quality opposition to improve your game. Really hope that Lekkerimäki and his camp are going to make this happen in the offseason.

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

O.K. Ladies and gentlemen, Why do they not extend JT Miller and trade him afterwards? Simple quesiton. JT Miller with term is going to net Canucks more assets than a JT Miller with one year left on his contract. -

what the hell is happening here? Canucks would not give permission to Lou to talk extension with Miller? -
the last paragraph of a scouting report on Lekkerimäki: "It will be curious to see where Lekkerimakki will play next year since his club in Sweden, Djurgardens, have been relegated to the 2nd division in the Allsvenskan. Maybe the NHL team that selects him will be tempted to bring him to the AHL right away, which would be a good option, in my opinion." Interesting..

prediction: Red Wings select with their second round pick Julian Lutz (C/LW) from EHC Red Bull Munich. Lutz told the media that Yzerman and the whole Red Wings Brass were very kind to him and made him feel very comfortable. He had great interviews with the Red Wings, Capitals and Bruins. Red Wings pick ahead of the Bruins and Caps in the second round. Scout said about Lutz that in terms of a style comparison he sees a Ondrej Palat in Lutz. Would be a great pick for the Red Wings.

it's a gamble. Cam Robinson is one of the best in the business when it comes to evaluation of prospects. He tweeted that he sees several red flags with Lambert. Inconsistency (taking shifts off) is a flaw which can't be taught. There are lots of examples of players with inconsistency that failed to become NHL regulars. Following Jake Virtanes rollercoaster ride in the NHL is a pretty good example. Why not drafting a player like Chesley, a RHD and develop him properly and you might come out with a top 4 D-Man with the 30th overall pick? Based on the scouting reports I have read on Lambert (more than 5) I am pretty sure that Lambert won't pan out.

I really hope that Lekkerimäki joins a SHL team in the offseason. Would be a waste of time to play in the Allsvenskan with Djurgardens. This would have a detrimental effect for his development. I hope that either Allvin or the sedins sit down with him and convince him that it makes zero sense to play in the Allsvenskan. He should join a top team in the SHL like Rögle BK, Frölunda or Leksands BK.

Winnipeg Jets are going to really hate this pick in a foreseeable time. They haven't done their homework and therefore they will get caught in the end. Lambert with a questionalble hockey IQ. Even in Liiga he needed way too much time to decide what to do with the puck in the O-Zone. The game in the SHL is significantly faster than in Liiga. There is a good chance that he will never make the NHL. How can you made such a selection in the first round? I don't get it.

Is Lekkerimaki going to play in the Allsvenskan (second tier league in Sweden) next season?
-
interesting quote from Sam Cosentino. I really think that centres like Kasper or Geekie will be off the board earlier than wingers like Kemell who struggled after his injury and didn't produce like before his injury or Lekkerimaki.

Do they even know how the puzzle looks like once it is finished? This NHL draft is the first big test for Patrik Allvin and I am very curious what he is going to do. One thing is clear: He has to get it right.

This is crazy ... . (in UK) Supermarkets put security tags on cheese blocks as stores tackle shoplifting amid soaring food costs

Gauthier to Jersey would be a cracker right at the very beginning of the draft

NUCKER67 with all due respect for your opinion. I read that teams are doing their due diligence on Kirby Dach which means he will be available. Just a reminder: Kirby Dach was selected 3OA by the Chicago Hawks. The issue with Dach was clear for those you did extensive research on this prospect. This disaster for the Hawks was avoidable. Unfortunately their GM, head of scouting and the whole scouting staff didn't due their homework. Kirby Dach's flaw can't be taught / ironed out. That's exactly why he is available. You have surely realize that I am not talking about Lambert. Well, Lambert has the same issue as Dach.

based on the scouting reports I have read I seriously doubt that any D-Man in this years draft might become a top pairing D-Man.

I keep fingers crossed that Canucks are going to draft arguabley the second best defenisve defenceman with their 15th overall pick.
