This conflict between the european commission and its members Poland and Hungary has been going on for several years. The root cause for this conflict lies in circumsizing the justice in Poland. Several judges of the supreme court were axed by the administration. Those spots in the courts were filled by judges having the same mindset as the political leaders of this country. The European commission opened up a formal proceeding against Poland claiming that the system of justice in Poland is not in conformity with european values and standards. This formal proceeding was closed this week and outcome was that the European commission is entitled to withhold substantial amounts of money that would have otherwise paid to Poland. In fact the withholding of money is a massive sanction for not having a system of justice in place which is in conformity with european standards. to me it's clear when you are a member of the european union than you have to comply with certain standards. In complying to those standards you lose part of your sovereighty. Even though the behavior of this bulgarian member of the european parliament is completey inacceptable.

Moritz Seider (Discussion Proposal)
Wolfgang Durst replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
great video illustrating Seider's development in his breakout plays by comparing his breakouts when playing with Rögle BK in Sweden (SHL) and when playing on the Red Wings. -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Wolfgang Durst replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Kravtsov was a top 10 pick and the position he got drafted is still attached to him, in terms of the value he has. Personally I would stay away from Kravtsov, because his development has been a rollercoaster. -

main objective from JR is, as mentioned several times , to create cap space. Höglander is currently under an cap friendly ELC with 891,667 $. Getting this amount off the books wouldn't move the needle that much. I don't see Höglander getting traded. There have been absolutely no trade rumors with his name in the rumor mill. -

for those who believe in the continuing growth of the chip business. Intel is currently making every possible effort to close the gap to the chip manufacturers in Asia. CEO is currently negotiating with the european union and selected european countries to build up a chip manufacturing site in Europe. This project will be generously supported by the European union wit billions of US-$ in subsidies: https://cryptopotato.com/intels-bitcoin-mining-chip-to-be-1000-times-faster-than-closest-rivals-claims-vp/ Intel’s Bitcoin Mining Chip to Be 1000 Times Faster than Closest Rivals, Claims VP -

Wolfgang Durst replied to Bruce Boudreau's topic in Off-Topic General
oh man this SoFi stadium is impressive- so impressive. -
NFL commissioner announced on February 9, 2022 that the NFL will be coming to Germany. I am super excited that my hometown, Munich will host the first ever NFL game in Germany in November 2022. Under NFL.com already more than 250,000 football fans registered in order to get a ticket for this event.

are you cheering for the Bengals? This is a bengal tiger so I assume you want the Bengals to win this superbowl. Would be an amazing story for the whole team, but especially for Joe Burrow.
-
The Rams should have an advantage here, because they have been to the SuperBowl and know exactly what it feels like and how the pressure impacts the game. Curious to see, how the Bengals team will handle the pressure. I expect and hope for a tight game which will be decided by the last drive.

according to natural stat tricks: High danger scoring Chances : 13 for the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. 4 for the Vancouver Canucks. There is no denying that the Leafs had significant more high danger scoring chances. Demko was the one who won this game for this team. regarding the 4 10M forwards: look at the standings; this Leafs team will make the playoffs because they have the much needed firepower upfront like other top teams like the Hurricanes, the Avs, the Lightning and the Panthers. What's the difference between the Leafs and the Nucks: Leafs are much faster team with much more firepower upfront; this Canucks team needs to get faster, we need faster skaters upfront, who get on the scoreboard consistently.

[Rumour] Canucks interested in Pavel Zacha

thanks, you nailed it. even the hockey analyst covering the New Jersey Devils don't like what Zacha brings. The last rumor is that Pavel Zacha is finally being shopped and teams are interested, as per Hockey Buzz. Though he is by no means a great source compared to the insiders at TSN or Sportsnet up in Canada, this does give some hope the Devils could move on from Zacha. Hopefully, Vancouver is one of the interested teams, and while a 1 for 1 is out of the question if the Devils lower the price by throwing him in they should take it and run. Zacha has 11 goals which is one less than Boeser and one more than Garland which could easily fool someone who does not watch him and should play to the Devil’s advantage. -
appreciate you observations as always but would like to ask a couple of questions in order to narrow things down when it comes to the current roster: 1. are the 2 periods of hockey against the Leafs representative for the Canucks season so far? 2. Have you missed that our best D-Man in Quinn Hughes has been absent, and the D-Zone play would have better with him on the ice? 3. How much of the poor D-Zone play can be attributed to the D? I mean it's a five man unit on the ice consisting of 3 forwards and 2 D-Man. 4. Other teams currently sitting on a playoff berth are also lacking a true No 1. D-Man / Is TJ. Brodie a top pairing guy in your point of view (he played on the top pairing last night) 5. When I look at the Laffers d-Core and compare them to the Canucks D-Core I have to say that their's isn't any better than ours (Muzzin and Holl on the 2nd pairing, two youngsters in Sandin and Liljegren on their 3rd pairing). Again, Hughes has been absent and Hamonic looked rusty.
