  1. scouting services and hockey analysts starting to see the light and view Reinbacher as the best D-Man in this years draft. In the February 2023 edition of the Sportsnet draft rankings Reinbacher is listed at 11. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/sportsnets-2023-nhl-draft-prospect-rankings-february-edition/
  2. I get that building a winning culture and identiy takes some time but the on-ice performance of this team under new headcoach Tocchet has been pretty underwhelming, to say the least. If a coach like Bruce Boudreau with all his experience of hundreds of NHL games coached in this league isn't able to establish the right culture and fix problems like the penalty kill and the overall defensive awareness and the compete level a coach like Rick won't get it done either.
  3. Is our GM aware of who's available right now ? Does he have the insight to see what right handed D-Man is available right now? Is he aware of the chatter and the rumours surrounding player X ? I guess he isn't.
  4. Jake's journey in Europe continues as he signed with the German Team Fishtown Penguins. Fishtown Penguins Bremerhaven a german team that plays in the DEL, Germany's top league signed Jake Virtanen. Headline from one report was : Penguins sign controversial player Jake Virtanen. Just watched the highlights of the team I cheer for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers with headcoah Tom Rowe. Ice Tigers played the Penguins on Sunday and the video showed Jake sitting in press box.
  5. most likely Friedman had the Chychrun trade in the back of his mind that didn't happen at the 2022 NHL Draft. Let's imagine the Yotes would sent Chychrun to the Blue Jackets for their unprotected 1st round pick 2023. That would fetch the Yotes Connor Bedard. Chychrun for Bedard? Not a bad idea. Kekalainen with another bombshell after adding Gaudreau
  6. "only" one obstacle to overcome and L.A. Kings and Coyotes have a deal.Blake has to find a team that is willing to take on a contract. Pretty interesting how this is going to play out
  7. someone is really really upset with the outcome of the Super Bowl. He's complelely freaking out. Guess he won't be invited to watch the Eagles game once next season starts.
  8. Brock wants out.. what a surprise ! The Bromance with Petey will come to an end soon. That's like a dagger into my heart.
  9. Seravalli again spot on in terms of Schenn's trade value. I' ll give him some props for his realistic perception of Luke's current trade value as a pure rental. Nice work Frank. There is word that the Canucks turned down a second-round pick for Schenn last season, but he also had one more year remaining on his deal at just above the league minimum. Now as a pending free agent, the price may be slightly lower and Braun is a decent comparable from last season. The comparable to Hakanpaa was added to point out that Vancouver is also looking for young, NHL-ready roster players in trades – and although that one isn’t apples-to-apples because Fleury needed to be protected in the Expansion Draft and that must be considered – it adds some food for thought.
  10. I post the following just to give you a feel for the Coyotes asking price for chychrun: "The Senators were in the mix but the Coyotes’ asking price of two first-round picks plus a high-end prospect was too expensive. "
  11. really upset that I went to bed shortly before the halftime. Thought that the Chiefs had lost this games after Mahomes left the field in obivious discomfort. This game just proved that Andy Reid is hands down the best headcoach in the NFL. His playcalling in the second half was out of this world. I just watched the hightlights of the second half and therefore I am in the position to comment on Reid's playcalling in the second half. The chemistry between Mahomes and Kelce is off the charts. I can only think of Allen and Diggs having a similar connection on the field. Even though i am not a Chiefs supporter I really enjoyed watching this high scoring game.
  12. With some strategic thinking the boys in the front office should have made the decision to let him walk as a free agent. With Boeser's contract off the books Canucks could have easily offered the 8,5 M for Horvat. I can't help but you would expect from a VP hockey Ops and a GM of a NHL franchise to have at least some degree of strategic thinking. I guess they have a spreadsheet to forecast the cap. With such a tool at hand even the average fans would have made the right call.
  13. Watching the Celtics Three Party is real fun. Regularly outscoring the opponents on the 3PT-FG is key for their success. Incredibly tough for any opponent to go toe-to-toe with the Celtics in this regard. In tonights game against the Grizzlies it was a collective effort with 8 players in the double digits.
  14. Let's zoom out and see how other teams near the bottom have been doing over the last 7 game stretch. Still lots of work to do for our guys to finish dead last in the league. Blackhawks: 5 points Blue Jackets: 3 points Canadiens: 3 points Canucks: 5 points Coyotes: 7 points Ducks: 5 points Sharks: 6 points
  15. If I had to bet on the team adding Chychrun I would go with either the L.A Kings or the Boston Bruins. Lot's of signs pointing to the Kings because of their excellent prospect pool. It was rumored that Tobias Björnfot could be part of the package being sent to the Coyotes. Björnfot was a first rounder, selected 22th overall who plays the left side. Let's add two other Grade B prospects and draft picks and you will get Chychrun. As some of you have already mentioned Alex Turcotte could be expendable and then add another center like Franceso Pinelli, a 2nd rounder shreeding the OHL with the Kitcheners or swedish forward prospect Samuel Fagemo (27 goals in the AHL). I can defnitely see the Kings leading the race in pursuing Chychrun. In contrast to the L.A. Kings Bruins don't have the quantity of Grade A/ Grade B prospects to get Chychrun. Bruins have been poking around Chychrun for more than 1 and a half year and haven't given up on Chychrun. I wish all of you guys a nice weekend.
  16. they are not good enough to make the playoffs. they are not bad enough to draft in the top 5 . What's ahead for this franchise? Right: mediocrity. Great.
  17. hockey analysts in north america know what's going on in the canucks locker room. Russo talked about it very openly on one show. I watched the video on Youtube. I find it very interesting that these people outside of VAN know exactly what's going on in Canucks locker room. It is a well know fact that player X on the team is like a cancer in the room. Do you want to hear an analogy: imagine having a basket of apples on your table and unfortunately there's one rotten apple in it. What's going to happen with the other apples in this basket? I guess you know the answer to this very simple question. There are several reasons for the monumental failure of this team. One of the reasons is the personality of player X. I guess you know exactly what player i am referring to. Don't you.
  18. the good thing is that the countries all over the world are united in providing support on different levels to help out the people in one of their darkest hours. Latest information is that the death toll is 15,000 . That's such an insane number.
  19. to land either Carlsson or Fantili Canucks have to have luck in the lottery, otherwise I can't see them being in the spot to draft them. Of course there's approximately 30 more games to be played and then we have to await the outcome of the lottery.
  20. yup. L.A. did well in this 3-way trade with the T--wolves and Jazz. Smart move from L.A especially with the 1st round pick involved.
  21. The Nets had lots of ambition to win the ring and failed in the end. They thought adding star players like Harden, Durant and Irving to the team would fetch them the ring. With the latest trades from Irving to the Mavs and Durant to the Suns all three super stars are gone. Sometimes it's enough to have 2 super stars on the team to win the ring. You don't have to have three of them on the same team. Personally I see only slim chances for KD to win another ring, because the Nuggets seem to be dominant in the West. If Jokic doesn't get injured and is sidelined for months I see the Nuggets advancing to the final (against the Celtics or Bucks?).
