Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs .Seattle Seahawks will be the first ever NFL game in Germany. Lots of buzz surrounding this game in the town. Good Morning Football - team made all the way from the United States to Munich to broadcast their show in a permanently closed office space from Deutsche Bank directly from the main square in Munich. Today they were doing an interview with two times Super Bowl champion Sebastian Vollmer who won the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots against the Seahawks and Falcons. I passed by and watched the interview, but I can't be seen on the following video: https://www.ran.de/us-sport/nfl/video/brauerei-besichtigung-vollmer-gibt-tipps-fuer-muenchen-clip They could have sold 3M tickets and if you want to buy a ticket on the black market they are going to charge you 2,000 Euro. In the background you can see the two towers of the main church in Munich - the towers have a high of round about 100 metre. On the right you can see the city hall which took the constructors more than 40 years to build it - from 1867 to 1909.

[Proposal] The Hardest Decision Edition
Wolfgang Durst replied to Warhippy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
sounds like it's is happening and some of the young players that were deemed to be the core are going to get traded. Let me guess who are the players that you can't trade: OEL and Myers . Trading 1 or 2 players that in the off-season we would have never considered doing? Demko , for sure. Maybe Hughes or Pettersson. My personal best guesses. -

Today's draw of the European Champions-League schedule with some tasty match-ups, especiallly Liverpool vs. Real Madrid / Dortmund vs. Chelsea / Leipzig vs. Manchester City This round can be labeled the battle between England and Germany because 2 teams from England facing 2 teams from Germany (Dortmund vs. Chelsea + Leipzig - Manchester City). FC Bayern München, Alphonso Davies' team against Paris St. Germain is another cracker in this round. Lots of great match-ups and I am really looking forward watching some of these games. -
Obvious difference between the two teams is that one team has an excellent headcoach whereas the other team has an awful rookie headcoach. Pretty sure that Mc Daniels will be canned in the next couple of weeks.

share the opinion regarding Stillman. He's a bottom pairing guy playing on the left side. That's the kind of player you can add in free agency or from the waiver wire. Trading away the second pick is such a waste for a Number 7 or 8 on the blueline. Cap savings on the Dickinson contract could have been accomplished by sending him down to Abby. In the grand scheme I see the following issues on the Canucks blueline: - lack of pyhsicality which is going to hurt the team in the end, because you lose puck battles and can't stop the cycling game of the opponent - canucks D-Men continuously watching the puck instead of focusing on the man coverage - Canucks D-Men look terrible when it comes to defending the rush; it's apparent that most of the goals against were the result of breakaways - lack of a physical stay at home D-Man as part of a shutdown pairing - lack of a Top 4 Right handed Defenseman - tremendous overpayment of players like OEL and Myers; OEL contract could turn out to be the next Loui Eriksson contract, Canucks are really going to chew on this I was shocked when I saw that stretch pass from one of the Devils players in the 3rd period that exposed our top pairing OEL/Myers and lead to the fourth goal for the Devils. How is possible that both ! OEL and Myers didn't cover their men at the same time? Both have hundreds of NHL games under their belt and should have enough experience not to be out of position this badly. I have no clue what is going on with Myers.

" but the effort is coming" - you would expect much more from a 1st round pick than that, especially in a tier2 league like the Allsvenskan. Advanced stats like corsi and expected goals for have improved mainly due to the great linemates Lekkerimäki is playing with as Noah Östlund and Liam Ohgren. Although i am hoping that Lekkerimäki starts producing. He is playing on the 3rd line of Djurgarden but on a top 3 team in the league.

[Speculation] Friedman says NYI scouting Canucks

Islanders urgently need help for their PP. What a luxury for this team to have only one area that needs to be cleaned up. -
@Vintage Canuck you rarely post in the NHL entry draft thread. The fact that you post something in here this early in the season gives me an indicatiion about the current state of this franchise. Sadly Bruce hasn't found solutions to the most pressing issues even after 12 games into the season. I can't imagine Aquillini firing Bruce, because he would have to pay not only Greener and Bruce but also the newly hired headcoach.

JR and PA tried to trade Myers and OEL last offseason, but apparently the market didn't allow them to get rid of these two star players. Uncle Jim Benning put this franchise in a massive hole and it will take several years to get out of this hole. Sell it all today is something you can do in fantasy hockey but you can't get it done in reality, unfortunately. This team is miles away from being a playoff team even if you add a top 4 right handed defenceman.

That's really bad news, because I just got a ticket for the game on Tuesday and hoped to watch Phonzi play. The building is less than a mile away from my home. Hope he will recover soon. I expect him to be sidelined less than 2 weeks, because team's medical staff is one of the best in Germany. Fiber tear is quite common for soccer players. Medical staff have lots of experience with this kind of injury. No worries folks in Canada, Phonzi will be ready to go for the World Cup. -

How long does it take for a defenseman to develop into an NHL'er ? If Canucks start drafting them in the next draft which is in 2023 then you can expect to have this D-Man in the line-up on the big stage in 2026. It took Seider who was drafted 6th overall 2 years to make the NHL. How can Canucks draft a defenseman when they continuously trade away second round picks? If you want to add a quality defenseman (a top 4 D-Man) you find those in the first two rounds. To your last statement "you're simply not gonna acquire one in a trade". Look at the blueline of the new jersey devils. They acquired lots of defenseman in a trade. The only D-Man on their blueline they got in the draft is Severson. all other defenseman were signed in free agency or acquired in a trade. I wanted Noah Dobson badly, especiallly because of his well rounded game, his frame and of course he's a right handed D-Man. Canucks would have been better off with Dobson. In this years draft it would have been better to draft Lian Bichsel instead of adding another winger (Podkolzin, Klimovich, Lekkerimäki). You easily get Top 6 wingers in free agency. -
Michael Russo who's covering the Minnesota Wild with the following statements on the Canucks team. at 2:53 Their blueline is embarrassing / Their blueline is not adequate at 4:21 and the problem is there's some personalities in that room that are very aggressive. When things go tough they become bad. I find it very interesting that hockey analysts everywhere in north america know exactly what's going on in the Canucks locker room. a medical check is mandatory for all soccer players whenever they join a new team in Europe. Not sure if there is something comparable in hockey in North America. Found the following report on the internet about Ethan Bear's health issues: Bear was given permission to talk with other teams, but in the end he was able to work something out with Carolina. He's coming off a difficult season where he scored five goals and 14 points in 58 contests while averaging 16:05 minutes. Some of his struggles might be due to long COVID, which he previously stated might be the cause of some breathing problems he's experienced. When he first established himself with Edmonton in 2019-20, he averaged 21:58 minutes. With this contract, the hope is that he'll be able to get healthy and bounce back.

noah juulsen madison bowey brogan rafferty jalen chatfield travis dermott Jett Woo Canucks have already taken a lot of gambles but unfortunately none of the low cost acquisitions have turned out to be a top 4 D-Man. They are in a win now mode. This issue needs to be resolved now and not in 2 or 3 years from now. Time to trade a high pick or a Top 6 forward to get a top 4 right handed D-Man. They could have picked Phillipe Myers easily from the waiver wire when Canucks would have placed Poolman on LTIR.

Excellent opportunity to get a young center in Nico Sturm. Nico Sturm for Studnicka - let's do it Patrik Allvin. Would be a great deal for the Canucks no doubt about it. Sturm played excellent as a 3 C with the Wild and then won the Cup with Colorado. He can score, play the game physical, good at faceoffs and reliable 2-way center.

He played in yesterday's home game against Mainz the whole 90 Minutes. He will be ready to go for the World cup. according to reports he suffered a light concussion during the game against Dortmund on October 8, 2022. -
Jim Benning tried his best with bringing in Gudbranson and by drafting Olli Juolevi 5th overall. Unfortunately these two players didn't live up to the expectations. Both were considered to be core pieces on the blueline with Gudbranson on the right side and Juolevi on the left side. Not only these two players turned out to be useless but also Jim Bennings secound round pick Jett Woo. In total you have at least 3 misses that exacerbated the situation on the blueline. In addition Benning didn't hit any free agent signing for the Blueline: Del Zotto, Benn, Pouliot .... Brutal performance from Jim and his team.
