I definitely agree that if I was Florida’s GM there is no need to move Ekblad. To me the two pillars are #1 D and # 1C. They have both and couldn’t see a scenario where they move those two. Only thing I could see is a move for economic reasons which they would never state publicly, otherwise all their top players would request a trade. It’s the only reason the GM would even listen rather than stating that they are building around Barkov and Ekblad. It’s definitely odd that they are even listening on him.

[Rumour] Jimmy Howard to test free agency
Kobayashi Maru replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Stayed across from it, but it was closed. One day I’ll go back if the world doesn’t end first.... -
Basically we need to move some high value assets to Florida to secure a top pair D like Ekblad. Then we need to move smaller assets to clear cap: -Ekblad for 2021 1st, 2nd, 2022 2nd, Stecher RFA rights -Eriksson + Virtanen to Ott for futures -Sutter + 3rd for futures -Sign Toffoli, Tanev, M Koivu Miller Pettersson Toffoli Pearson Horvat Boeser MacEwen Koivu Gaudette Roussel Beagle Motte Hughes Ekblad Edler Tanev Joulevi Myers Still not sure on goalie situation....

In a heartbeat and to be honest I would add a pick too to make it happen. -
[Rumour] Alex Pietrangelo to test free agency

Joulevi Myers could actually be a really good pairing and Myers could be a great mentor. I like it! -
[Rumour] Alex Pietrangelo to test free agency

At 10 million you could trade Eriksson with a high pick (May have to be a first) and not sign Tanev. Over ten mill right there. Basically makes the pick you trade with Eriksson the acquisition cost. Somthing to the effect of: Hughes Pietrangelo Edler Myers Joulevi Fantenberg Likely let Stecher walk too to free up cap. -

Thanks to @EP40. for the quick negotiations. While we know Kravstov is starting to emerge, he will still be a few years from taking over Ehlers and Kane on LW. Getting Skinner gives the coach some more veteran options in the top two lines and on the 2nd PP. We're happy to have Skinner on the team for at least the next few years.

Nik Ehlers with a hat trick to start off the year against the perpetual Stanley Cup champs! Was on pace for 246 goals, so let's see if he can make it!

See ya Corey! Wish you had showed up to say hi in Dallas before waving goodbye.

Scherbak available for a pick for whoever needs a young top 9 forward.

We wish Mika luck as we know he’s still an elite talent in the league but he couldn’t play much C with McDavid, Monahan, Kotkaniemi up the middle. We are happy to bring in a young emerging star in Ehlers and know his speed will help push the tempo in Cgy for years. We also realized that our D was missing another top pair D. Hampus will come in and help solidify the top 4 with Subban, Sanheim and Hanifin. Thanks to @JE14 for the lengthy but productive negotiations.

Calgary Flames are unlikely players in free agency this year as the roster is mostly in shape. Trade market is still a hot topic with a few players like Jan Rutta, Robby Fabbri on the block for picks. Willing to at least discuss many other moves that make sense. Mid-range prospects (multiple) can also be had for later picks. Great way for any team to fill out their farm system. Here is where the Flames sit today: Taylor Hall - Connor McDavid – Mika Zibanejad Robby Fabbri – Sean Monahan – Elias Lindholm Alex Nylander – Jesperi Kotkaniemi – Nino Neiderreiter Lias Andersson – Morgan Geekie– Loui Eriksson In contention: Micheal Ferland, Joachim Blichfeld, Yakov Trenin, Carter Verhaeghe Travis Sanheim – PK Subban Noah Hanifin - Erik Brannstrom Jan Rutta - Vladislav Gavrikov In contention: Olli Joulevi, Sami Niku. Libor Hajek, Sebastian Aho, K’Andre Miller, Jacob Zboril Carey Price Alexander Georgiev In contention: Matiss Kivlenieks

Dallas Stars had a bit of a step back last year but now have depth at every position. Big improvement to the top line with the Ehlers trade and the D is solidified for years with Byram and Regula as full time contributors. Looking at a bit of an upgrade in some areas in FA so we'll see what that may bring. Going into FA the Stars current lineup looks like: Ehlers - Hischier - Radulov Kane - Barkov - Guryanov Kravtsov - Horton - Scherbak Hintz - Faksa – Motte Byram – Klingberg Lindell - Regula Zadorov - Honka Pugin DiPietro
