[Report] Canucks recall Jake Kielly
Kobayashi Maru replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
I thought "unfit to play" typically meant that he had a positive COVID19 test outside the bubble of course? -
Dallas releases the following players to FA: Corey Perry Henrik Zetterberg Happy retirement guys!

Ah back to the familiar home of the rebuilders.... Time to rehire the scouts that I recently fired.

It’s not a bad idea and if we sent an asset to make Loui go away and didn’t sign Tanev/Stecher. If that was done he certainly wouldn’t be second line though. Could be: Hughes Pietrangelo Edler Rathbone Joulevi Myers couple pretty young guys but vets like Fantenberg/Benn types can step in too offset that.

Calgary Roster moves: Recall: Jesperi Kotkaneimi, Erik Brannstrom Release to UFA: Jay Beagle, Alex Biega, Justin Abdelkader, Ty Rattie, Cory Conacher, Tanner Frtiz Release to UFA as per Buyout: Wayne Simmonds OTB: Robby Fabbri, Jan Rutta (Looking for picks in return. Likely more on the block closer to the start of next season)

Dallas Stars have decided to save their energy for the playoffs next year. The youth movement is nearly complete, and we are seeing veteran spots taken by youth or players in their prime. We are currently on a decent run to finish the year and building confidence for next year.

Other than his JS Giguere type run to the cup Binnington is likely going to bounce back to a 1A type goalie in my mind. That run to the cup (Which can't be understated as it's a big achievement) people see as his norm. I think his norm is more like most of this year and the playoffs which is a solid starter or 1A. Importance of a 1B in that case can't be understated. Jake Allen never become what he was hyped to be, but he is a borderline starter. If you look at his stats they are actually very good. It turned out to be a timing thing when Allen and the Blues were at their worst in many years, Binnington came in and was the saviour. The ongoing situation will be different than that anomaly of a year, but the optics are hard to overcome, and hence Allen moves along. He could still be the better goalie for the next few years.

Myers is not a bust in any way. Worth his draft position many years ago and worth his recent contract with the Nucks. He is a unique talent: -With his size and reach he can make opposing plays adjust before they come to fruition -Plays a physical intimidating game. Not in the same as Byfuglien or Tryamkin, but certainly holds is own and creates space -Very solid puck mover and thinks the game quickly. To compare, just look at breakouts between Myers and Stecher -Has decent offensive ability with regards to occasional drives to the net and a heavy shot He's a clear-cut #3 D and that is worth anywhere from 4.5-6M so he's right on target.

So here is a question for everyone that is relatively on topic. This won't happen but if Carey Price was placed on waivers would you take him? Personally I wouldn't due to his age and remaining contract cost and duration. Begs the question to me based on that on whether Carey Price (With contract) has neutral value? Still one of the top goalies in the game still, but the contract is a factor.

I would imagine Pietrangelo is around 8.5 which is a 2 mil raise. To me their key focus would be trying to move out Bozak to reclaim the cap even if they have to pay to make him go away. If Pietrangelo asks for 10 then they would walk away 100%. I think they needed a solid 1B type goalie in Allen, so this could start the decline of St Louis already.
