Look at Linds progression in Juniors. PPG went up a steep curve for three years. Really think this year is a step to next year. He is not done let him play, learn and develop. Bring him up for a look this time next year when he has hit the next level. I do not think he is close to done.

Not sure I would call Petey's 5 goals and 2 assists in 7 games games average or not impressive at the WJC. Actually cannot say much has been average about Petey at all. If Hogs or Pods can develop into a winger for Petey or Bo I have no complaints at all. Really looking like three scoring lines on this team is going to be a reality.

If Juolevi eventually pans out like Virtanen is really starting to look like he will, Benning is really gonna look like a drafting genius.

Might be gone by 3. But there is another couple of high compete wingers with good releases rated in the teens where we are more probably picking too. And I am unsure how you think it is possible we pick 31st. If we make the playoffs Tampa gets our first pick. I do not understand why people seem to think this is a must make playoffs year. To me this is a cannot make playoffs year as we need this next first rounder.

What thread do you guys think you are in?

Firstly, I would point out that Myers has really taken the pressure off Tanev and I would suggest that Tanev being healthy this year has a lot to do with Myers taking some of the strain. Second, I would ask how you think we start to transition to a younger defence if we do not start to plug guys in when they are ready? I am not saying Rafferty needs to come up now but definitely sometime soon. And we have a few D-Men knocking on the door. Juolevi and Briseboise for sure. Teves sure has looked decent and if his mobility is good enough he may press for a spot. Tryamkin may come back. Woo and Rathbone will probably be Utica bound next year and both look solid so far. If we keep signing our D men and do not transition and trade for to improve the team we will forever have the d core that struggles to clear the zone so often.

Curious why Rafferty and Brisebois seem to be the top two D in Utica this year (with OJ being out part of the year) but it has been Chatfield and Sautner called up. Also nice to be able to argue which are the better AHL prospects now that there is some options to argue over.

I have watched Kole live as a WHLer about 10 times, all when playing the Royals in Victoria. I believe his skills can translate to a top 6 forward with speed, skill, strength and an edge. This depends somewhat on injury luck and determination which he is showing he possesses. But realistically, he needs to be Boucher, Baertchi, Goldobin good in the AHL while being younger to exceed how far each of them has progressed. With that in mind, Kole needs one more breakthrough summer while turning in a near PPG season this year.

Patience guys. This is not a third or fourth line player we are trying to build. He will get better yet.

I guess it was silly of me to stop in and see if Madden played today.
-
I agree Madden is an NHL player in time. Really see him as that missing center in Utica in a few months and can not wait to see him between Lind and Gadjovich next season down in Utica and all three in Vancouver the year after.
-
I wonder if when we get healthy if we can try a Petey Gaud Boeser or Miller Gaud Petey line to try to confuse the opposition and load up an offensive line that gets offensive zone starts.
-
I agree with the let him develop thought pattern. He is doing very well but he needs grow more and do more. When he grows into what he can be at the AHL level bring him up for a taste. Then he can begin to grow into the next level. Kole does not need to be an NHL player next year to have an NHL career.

So seems it seems Hall is moving from NJ soon. Would you double down on the Miller trade and flip Miller for Hall? We upgrade the first line more and Jersey gets a longer term replacement for Hall (who seems to be leaving anyway). Of course Hall would need to sign an extension but what talented offensive winger would not love to play with Petey?
-
I think we need to start including his hit stats after last night.
-
Just do not forget that Demko is at 1.64 gaa and .943 save % after three NHL games this year. Awfully similar numbers one league up. The future does look bright, especially in goal.
-
Gaudette is not making it easy for them to send him down.
-
I just think Jake is able to contribute to physical play but not be the initiative and sole force. He needs to be part of a physical group. Thus think Ferland needs to play with Jake. Anyway I see Miller with Brock and Petey. Then we have Bo, Pearson, Leivo, Ferland, Virtanen, Baertchi and Gaudette fighting for spots in the Middle 6. Then we still have Sutter, Beagle, Motte, Schaller, eventually Roussell and god forbid Ericksson amd then the challenging youngsters. We do need to move some bodies out to some team lacking NHL depth. Edmonton air Arizona? Sutter would look nice in the desert for a 5th rounder. Lol.
-
Complimentary? I was thinking Ferland AG JV18. Punishment, puck separation and finish.
-
So does Ferland become the linemate and mold for Jake?

This July 1st, Benning can make us a playoff team, or a Cup contender.

If Myers makes Tanev the second unit RHD penalty killer this is a win. Hughes as first PP spreads Edler a little thinner and we are a little better. -
The Kole carried Foote in Kole's 4th year I am not in on Foote.

I think everyone's lists are different for number 10. I am thinking a player ready earlier (one or two years). A player who is offensive and is a LW or LW/C. A player who can be at physical in a Horvat sense or more. I am thinking Boldy or Lavoie but would be comfortable with Newhook or even Krebs. I do not prefer a d at 10 this year. I do not prefer Caulfield at all. And project all the other guys I like (Hughes, kaako, byram, turcotte, cozens, dach) are all gone early. Someone takes Caulfield. I just hope not us as i do not think he translates better than Boucher.

I am looking at Lavoie and wondering if the fast rising very talented and winning environment player may be the player JB is actually targeting.
