  1. I believe that 10 spot rule doesn’t kick in until next year’s draft.
  2. Always hated Perry as well. But he would have looked good on the Canucks’ power play if they had signed him. He came cheap too.
  3. I’ve always thought that Zadorov would look good on the Canucks blue line. A 6’5, 220 lb RHD who likes to hit and has a good shot. Go get him JB!
  4. Actually he was referring to resigning Toffoli during free agency. Benning admitted that he was trying to move some money out but couldn’t get it done before Toffoli signed with Montreal four days into free agency. COVID affected every team’s plans.
  5. I agree with both of you guys. Three balanced scoring lines with Miller playing centre is the way to go. The sad thing is that keeping Toffoli would have given us the depth to do it if Benning hadn’t “run out of time”.
  6. Bieksa is way more of an X’s and O’s analyst than I thought he’d be. Maybe make a good assistant coach one day?
  7. I don’t think he will. They’ve invested too much in Kole Lind’s development to leave him unprotected.
  8. I’m thinking just the opposite. This may be the year you may draft as good a prospect at number nine as you could at number three or four. Of course this still depends on the confidence you have in your scouting department.
  9. I’d like to see Winnipeg and the Lightning play in the final. They’re both big and skilled teams that would be entertaining to watch. And like you I hate the Canucks losing to the other Canadian teams but I don’t mind the Jets or their fans.
  10. He was my choice for our first round pick in 2014 instead of Virtanen. What could have been!
  11. Especially in the playoffs. Myers and Edler both stepped up last playoffs in the toughness department and we’ll need someone to fill that role moving forward. Players like Josh Manson or Jamie Oleksiak would be a good fit.
  12. Right on. I don’t remember the exact numbers but I believe teams could protect around 20 players back then compared to the 11 or so now.
