[proposal] Schmidt and 9OA for Tkachuk or Reinhart
Kuzy replied to Patel Bure's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Hoglander on his own is too steep of a price. The other GM would be cheering in the streets if that deal went down. -
Who do you have in mind? Usually to get players like that you have to give one up as well.

St Louis couldn't find a trade partner prior to the expansion draft. IMO, his value is really low. I like Senko as a buy low option so long as salary is retained on the other side.

[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?

Congrats, you’re the quickest yet to hit the ban list. Have a good one -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?

Yeah he’s being seriously underrated over here. Franchise talent like Pettersson. -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?
Kuzy replied to Kuzy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I agree 100% that he’s an integral piece to this team including chemistry and relationships and what not, but seeing that Kaprizov may eventually be traded, Boeser seems to me like a piece that would get a trade done. Kap is a special player and there’s a very small list of players I would trade Boes for. -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?

I love the range of opinions, from “he’s KHL bound” to “similarities to bure and mcdavid”. Who knows the true value. -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?

Seems everyone else here read some bs media report about him taking off to Russia and went with it. -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?
Kuzy replied to Kuzy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Fair enough. I just don't see that happening. He'll get his payday eventually, a lot more money to be made in the NHL. And for the 5th time, I love Boeser, but he's not some untradeable saint. Hasn't played a full season yet. iNjUrY pRoNe -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?
Kuzy replied to Kuzy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I’m not doubting that Brock has 30+ goal capability but you’re saying he should easily hit 40 when in reality he hasn’t hit 30 yet. Pump the brakes a bit buddy. -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?

By that logic we should probably get rid of Podkolzin as fast as possible then. Guys like Kucherov, Ovechkin, Malkin probably have no value in the league either due to their nationality. -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?

Kaprizov is already better. Carried his team into the playoffs in his rookie season. Not to mention he is 2 months younger than Brock, fwiw. -

Kuzy replied to Kuzy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Love Brock but he hasnt eclipsed the 29 goals he had in his rookie season. 40 is a ways off I think. Kaprizov however looks to be a point per game plus type of superstar, the kind that puts butts in seats you know? -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?
Kuzy replied to Kuzy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Minny hasn't locked him up yet because he wants to reach UFA. Minny has no elite forwards besides Kap. If he were to be traded here I could see him reaching superstar status a la Panarin. -
[Proposal] Boeser to MIN for Kaprizov?
Kuzy replied to Kuzy's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
They are the same age, commanding similar money. Kaprizov looks to be on track to be the next Panarin. He is "threatening to go back to Russia" as a negotiating tactic - ie he wants to reach UFA as soon as possible. In my original post I posited that HYPOTHETICALLY if he were to sign a significant deal with us (similar $ to what Boeser would get on a long term deal anyways) that could be a win for us. Kap is being severely underrated here, the guy is a superstar already after one season. -
Canucks release protected list for expansion draft
Kuzy replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
It's gonna be Loui. They have zero meme potential right now as it stands -
I know this sounds ridiculous on the surface, but let's say hypothetically that Kaprizov is willing to sign long term with us if this trade is made. Boeser as we all know is from Minnesota and probably wouldn't mind being much closer his family, especially his dad. Boeser is due for a contract in the 8M+ range, while Kaprizov will be looking for a bit more, but still comparable. Benning is on record saying he would look into adding a Russian player to help ease Podkolzin in, how's Kaprizov for a mentor... Kaprizov would probably love to play in Vancouver, we have some elite talent up front and he would get the chance to maximize his point totals playing with the likes of Petey, Miller, Horvat, etc, something that Minnesota doesn't have. Victor Rask was his center this past season and he put up a better points per game average than Boes. Both are wingers, similar age to boot. If Minny is worried about potentially losing Kaprizov for nothing in FA a couple years down the road, might they consider the hometown boy in a 1-for-1 hockey trade? Might really benefit both teams. Flame away. Love me some Boeser but Kaprizov would be too good to pass up IMO.
-
I wouldn't go that far yet, but he's definitely on the right track.
-
2-way matchup forward. Kind of a Horvat type. Not sure about his leadership qualities
-
I assume he's ranked lower overall perhaps because he's Russian? I really don't see how he's worse in any capacity than McTavish other than his shot, and we're seeing McTavish in the top 5 on some boards. I'll take a Russian JT Miller 10/10 times over a 1-dimensional Canadian center.

I feel like we aren't talking enough about Fyodor Svechkov. After watching all the video packages I could find, I am convinced this guy is gonna be one of the best players produced in this draft. Arguably one of, if not the best defensive forward in his draft class, he plays a mature 2-way game with lots of room to grow. Playing in Russia's version of the AHL (VHL) this past year, he put up similar points to our own Podkolzin in his D-1 year, on an admittedly terrible team. He plays a premier position, dominates against his peers (had an unreal U18), already plays against men, and puts up respectable point totals while being solid in his own end. If this doesn't scream high-end 2nd or 3rd line center (which everyone likens to McTavish) I don't know what does. Comparing him to McTavish, I see more playmaking ability and overall 200 foot aptitude than his Canadian counterpart. I could see Jim taking this guy at 9 and surprising most pundits who will label this as a reach - much like how we "reached" for Pettersson at 5 a few years ago. Not to mention, Craig Button (taken with a grain of salt) has Svechkov at 10th on his top prospects list. Fyodor fits a need both short and long term, and profiles as a hard-nosed defensive center with playmaking ability, kind of the player we should be pursuing when our competitive window opens up anyway. This guy will be a beast in the playoffs. Source:
