  1. Hakanpaa could be a good option. Huge mobile Viking looking dude who was top 5 in hits this year, clears the crease, would come cheaper than most other free agents out there...
  2. I’ve flip flopped all year on who I think will be available at 9, and who the canucks would consider BPA at 9. In the extremely unlikely case of Eklund or Beniers being there, you take either and run. From there, I think it’s anyone’s guess. My money is on drafting a forward and signing a FA defensive defenseman like Larsson or Savard. My personal favourites who might seem off the board to some are Lysell, Svechkov and Sillinger. Lysell plays that high paced playoff style game that scouts will love, and I think he will be taken a lot higher than people are ranking him. Svechkov and Sillinger are defensively responsible forwards who are good around the net and have some untapped offensive potential - might fit well on a playoff shutdown line with Podkolzin, Horvat and the like. If I had to choose players for a “do not draft” list, Edvinsson and Johnson are right at the top. Something about lacking awareness or making the simple play at the professional level is worrisome. Sure, they have potential to be home run picks, but they are extremely high risk IMO. If JB comes out of this with any of Eklund, Beniers, Lysell, Svechkov, or Sillinger, or even Guenther, our organization will be adding a defensively conscious player with tons of offensive potential, all of whom seem to play an uptempo style, which today’s NHL is trending towards. Lower risk, high reward.
  3. I'd be fine with Clarke, Power scares me though, I've heard reports his decision making and IQ is questionable. Canucks need more high tempo, high hockey IQ play drivers!
  4. If by some miracle we happen to land the #1 or #2 pick, I would want the Canucks to take a long hard look at William Eklund. A bit undersized but he plays the game reminiscent of Stutzle - at least to me. I believe he has one of the highest ceilings, if not the highest ceiling of the entire draft.
  5. I honestly thought chatfield looked pretty steady out there. Especially with edler out. Maybe it’s just the flow but I got a bit of young tanev vibes
  6. Haven’t had to turn a game off partway in years. We look like the echl all star team at best
  7. If that's the best GMJB can do we are so utterly Focht. /s
  8. I’ve done a lot of the riding here on the island, mostly Vic based so Hartland, Prevost, and Tzouhalem. Good riding up at Cumberland and Nanaimo. i ride a 2013 Giant Reign enduro, really well rounded bike that can handle most downhill sections and conquers uphills with ease.
  9. Since were talking drinks... I’m having a chai White Russian. Call me crazy (I’m actually a bartender) but this stuff is goooood
  10. Why isn't anyone talking about Kole Lind? He looked good in yesterday's scrimmage highlights, and might be closer to a spot on the roster than we think?
  11. Is that Oilers legend Nail Yakupov in the background?
  12. Just tied his career high in points... in 25 less games!! Let’s go Tuna!!
  13. Voted Quinn x10, surprised Barkov isn't on the all star team already, so he got 10 from me as well
  14. I think #5, 8, and 13 are by far your best. They sound a lot more refined, polished than the others. Not to sound harsh, but some of your beats sound a little tacky, but I think that's a matter of how you mix your layers. As I mentioned before, I think you would really benefit from moving to a platform such as Ableton that offers better workflow and maneuverability with editing clips and recording midi. Also, try to expand on your variations between 4,8, and 16 bar loops - meaning try to make each little section different than the last, because it is easy for hip hop/trap beats to get boring after the 30 seconds of listening. You seem to have the ear for it, which is a good sign! ps: here's one I've made that can give you an idea of what I mean by variation
  15. If it's a Mac hit the apple icon in the top left corner --> about this Mac. If it's a PC: https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/how-to-find-computer-specs-windows-10/
  16. Honestly that's a great way to learn. What are your specs? You should be able to look up certain programs' minimum requirements to run.
  17. I'm actually amazed that you could do that with an android app lol. Just my 2 cents, it would be very much worth the investment in a PC or Mac, simply because the overall function of a program like Ableton (which is what I use) is exponentially higher than a phone app. Not to mention workflow which is half the battle with DAWs. There are plenty of ways to work around the 800$ price tag too - if you happen to land a computer DM me and I can send some links
  18. These are really good, especially if you're just starting out. My recommendation would be to look into compressors and sidechaining, so that your kick and other "punchy" instruments are able to stand out in the mix a lot better. Also, for the first beat, I would try mixing it up with the melody/synth a little more, maybe transpose it +/- 12 semitones to give it a different feel.
  19. From a buddy who works there... The Empress.
