  1. If he had the balls to swing his stick at JV, he should have just gone ahead to do it next game. If you don't like the way you are treated on the ice, push back a little. Drop the gloves and resolve it right then and there. Instead, he chose to reach out to the media and cried about it. By doing so, he is probably calling out his teammates to get on JV on behalf of himself which is pretty cowardly. It also shows the Jets are not a tough enough team that can back him up out there so he had to cry about it to the media. Verbally threatening to swing a stick at a guy's head... now that's just low. Very unfortunate that he made the whole team look so bad.
  2. I hope Sutter has a good game so he could play up with Gaud and Boes up with Bo/ EP40. LE has been working hard and Bo has been having success with him on the wing... But we are a good enough team to have other options. Or maybe perhaps Green is planning on using the 4th line to take even larger chunk of minutes off of Bo's line to play match up role against their top lines.
  3. I feel your concern. And I think not all players reach their potentials throughout their careers. What I typed up there might just be wishful thinking. But I think he's not fully utilizing everything he has in him. And altho until this year, his development has been slow, he has been getting better. This year, he got a lot better. So I don't think it's a blind hope to wish him to get better as he has been steadily getting better. He will not be the saviour of our team. But he will become a good piece. And I do think his game could get a bit meaner as he feels more comfortable out there.
  4. JV actually started out his NHL career playing the way he did in the Juniors. What he didn't know is that in the pro leagues, physical game takes a lot more than just playing physical on the ice. Players play by the codes and they have to know the consequences before playing certain ways/ making certain hits. In the juniors, he was one of the biggest kids out there so he did whatever he wanted and still did not worry about people getting back at him. But in the pro leagues, there are behemoths out there and u have to pay back for ur actions sooner or later. And it is not an easy task playing thru season worrying about those. Rouss has been around the ages and he cherished playing that game. It was necessary of him to play that game to stay in the NHL. He knows well of all the consequences and how he needs to play thru certain stress. On the other hand, JV entered the league and went thru a pretty tough first season, got some reputations, players/ refs were aware of him out there. His recurrent shoulder injury and suspensions he received didnt help his situation as well. Plus, he doesnt need to play that game to be successful in the NHL. So he changed his game a bit to first learn the NHL game. Many power forwards go thru such adjustments there is nothing wrong. Once he figures out more and be comfortable in the league, he can bring that element back and be more mentally ready for it. This season, he picks his spots to be physical which I like. He will continue to develop and noone here knows what kind of player he chooses to reach his full potential. Just my two cents.
  5. Game of inches. Coulda made a nice game if we capitalized on our chances.
  6. Bo got back on Soucy by making him a total clown trying to play that last icing/ EN goal. I could definitely see how Boeser wanted that goal tonight. But I am sure Duke was proud nonetheless.
  7. Always love seeing Stetch get rewarded. slick pass by Miller.
  8. Much better game by Brock and better results. Kept things simple to pop one. Finds good ice that contributed to Miller's goal. Then, the prototypical Brock snipe now. I like it.
  9. Nice for Brock to find that ice. Fooled everybody. Great simple goal by Miller.
  10. I think u follow the bigger piece according to someone's response above. But I appreciate ur response.
  11. This is a random question but I think I've seen a puck split up once in like the 90's... So if the puck splits into two pieces, u make the call according to where the bigger piece went right?
  12. That was like a 4 minute shift by Tanev and Fanta... Ok maybe a little less than that.
  13. Did Brock just wired one thru the net? That's fire. False alarm
  14. More like we r quite stationary. If we give it more movement, it could open up more. But maybe it's better said than done.
  15. Better than matching our 3rd line against them. Our 3rd line is kind of a hybrid scoring line with primarily O-zone time. And Bo's line can't always be out there against both the other team's 1st and 2nd lines. With our current roster, it makes sense to put Beag's line to share shutdown burden with Bo's line.
  16. I think he's taken on more responsibilities here than when he was with Washington. I have been seeing his line go up against the other team's 1st lines quite often this season. It's not just Bo's line that has sole shutdown duty.
  17. Someone fault our D-system? That was a great D-zone coverage by our 1st line right there. We made the correct switches and everybody covered their guys. Sabres had not a lot of options and had to cycle around with no real threat.
