  1. Hughes was pivoting towards the puck carrier near our own blue line and it appeared as if he twisted his left ankle awkwardly while making that pivot.
  2. Marky went side to side so quick it caught Ritchie off guard and forced him to take a bad shot. Good angling by Marky.
  3. I think Gaud will sit tomorrow. Leivo can play both sides so if he shifts to the RW, it will cause the least amount of stir in the lineup. But if Gaud scores a couple tonight and have a big game, Baer might have to wait for another opportunity.
  4. It has to do with the level of competition we have had so far. We haven't really played top teams yet so our record can't accurately describe where we stand in this league. All we gotta do is go out there against them and prove ourselves! Prove em wrong.
  5. He seemed have thrown that awkward haymaker after few body shots.. That didnt look like it hit the right spot.. Might have hit Clifford's helmet. Hope it's nothing serious.. he was just starting to find his rhythm out there.
  6. Absolutely this. Might I add.. during the tedious rebuild process, they also did the right thing letting Sedins play through their last years in Vancouver jersey. That was a class act. Good for them the prospects and the key pieces are playing good roles for them right now. They deserve it.
  7. Miller is a very good piece in that Lotto line. I can see why they wanted either Ferly or Miller play in that LW slot. I have seen people try to jump Miller and bounce right back. His presence def helps EP and BB make plays with more confidence and not have to worry about noone being there to have their backs when push comes to shove. Who knew EP would be running around trying to find the guy who speared him and stand up for himself.. Poor Martinez.. Carter owes him a steak dinner.
  8. Team like that shouldnt limit us to only 49 shots and only 5 goals... There is just no way..
  9. To all the people who complained of putting EP and BB on their strong sides in PP: This is what happens if we give other teams more options to worry about. Now our PP is rolling. No more one trick pony. The opposing team needs to worry about different formations and they couldnt defend one-timer slots in the previous goal. Now, we switch back to strong sides and let Huggy rip one.. another goal.
  10. Even if we don't dress him, it's still important to let him know he's the first call-up and keep his confidence up. Keeps the player happy. LE surprised many last game and played a good 4th line role. And should there be anyone not playing up to par, they would know Gaud is staring at their stalls. Also, I think it's good to have Gaud have more NHL practices. Familiarize himself with the system. I think this was a good call-up.
  11. Luckily we have options to deploy Huggy differently than EP40 last season. EP40, playing 1st line minutes last season as a Centre was burnt out due to having to play against other team's shutdown lines. They all tried to play physical on him every given night.. I think Huggy will still have to fight through some physicality from opposing forecheckers as well.. But he is a defenceman in 2nd pair thus far. I think situation could be a little different. We have options to shelter his minutes so that his matchups are less challenging than what EP40 had to go through last season. Both Edler and Myers have had experience logging heavy minutes. Still I certainly hope we utilize him as best as we can to collect as many wins as possible.. And towards the later half of the season, perhaps cut down his minutes and deploy him situationally, should fatigue becomes an issue.
  12. I think this forum needs to add a function where if posters get enough downvotes/ warnings, he/she should be suspended from posting for a certain amount of time. Otherwise, posts like the "Green crippling EP's development" or posts like this one will keep coming up.
  13. Bob's save % this season? I wouldnt call him a world class goalie in Panthers uniform. And I know Barkov is one of the most underrated forwards in the game but... top 3 talent in the league? No chance. Never knew having descent players is something to cheer about in this sport. This is hockey. It's a tough game. You celebrate wins. This isn't a doll house where you like to stare at ur toys.
  14. A lot of respect to LE for making that pass. If I were in his shoes, I woulda snapped it myself 10/10 times. But he made the right play... drew the D to him then sauce.
  15. Over time, once they feel more comfortable with the system, they will learn when to do the switch to the strong side. I think currently, they are just experimenting with more options so later players could choose from them according to different situations.
