  1. 16-14-2 against teams currently in a playoff spot. 18-9-4 against teams currently on the outside. So essentially .500 against the playoff teams and 5 games over .500 against non-playoff teams. If we apply those metrics to the Canucks final 19 games: 9-7-3 is the most likely outcome. 43-30-9 95pts and 3rd in the Pacific is my guess...if Markstrom was healthy...if Demko can't get dialed in or Domingue doesn't provide some "magic" then its anyone's guess.
  2. AA, Yamamoto and Kris Russell practiced today and are game time decisions tomorrow, Kassian is back and Neal is skating and close to returning. Klefbom still at least a week away. Seems like almost every team is missing one or 2 of their key players right now.
  3. Canucks went through a 7-12-2 (Demko went 4-3-1) stretch in Nov.-Dec. when every team they faced wasn't playing for their playoff lives or jockeying for position already playoff-bound. Looking at the schedule and the lack of Markstrom to steal games then 5-11-3 doesn't seem like its that crazy. They only have 4 games against teams not in the playoffs or fighting to get in, 2 against Anaheim and 1 each against LA and SJ. Anaheim always plays well against the Canucks and LA and SJ would love to play spoiler.
  4. Probably inflated by powerplay stats where they usually get a flurry of shot/shot attempts which are all considered scoring chances because its the PP.
  5. Shooting wide on a breakaway is a scoring chance with no shot and happens all the time. I'm not saying the Canucks missed the net on 13 breakaways last night but missed shots is likely the reason for the difference.
  6. If he keeps up the scoring pace he's likely to get close to or pass his career high in goals, assists and points. He's 27 and some GM out there will offer him 6.5-7m x 6 years, similar to the Kevin Hayes deal. Not sure the Canucks can afford that.
  7. Because the NHL has this archaic injury secrecy thing that goes back decades. In the other 3 leagues you know exactly what kind of injury a player has, when and what kind of surgery/procedure is needed and a fairly accurate timeline, hell you even know the doctor in some cases.
  8. Ironically the playoffs start 6 weeks from tonight...pray that Demko stays healthy because I don't see a tandem of Louis D. and Mikey D. going on a magical run.
  9. This doctor has been evaluating injuries to NHL players and this is likely very accurate. The playoffs start exactly 6 weeks from tonight.
  10. Myers has a NMC which means he has to be protected in the Expansion Draft if I'm not mistaken.
  11. Who do you have them losing to Seattle in the Expansion Draft in this scenario?
  12. Its 4 games in 6 days and 2 of the teams are fighting for their playoff lives, not what I would call easy. Domingue will likely have to start in TO or CBJ.
  13. Among goalies with at least 20GP Demko is 40th in SV% and 45th in GAA...that's it...that's the post.
  14. Read the first line again and you'll know who I'm talking to. And look at the first letter of each word the second line you bolded. Happy to help you translate.
  15. He's just not a consistent playmaker at all. He has 17A in 50 games this year. 6 of those assists came in 3 games which means 11a in the other 47 games. 2a games are great to pad your stats but when you only have 11a in the other 47 games then something is missing.
  16. Gotta laugh at all the "d-corps" hot takes. JB signed the top D-man UFA (Myers), brought in 2 solid depth D-men (Benn, Fantenberg) and a Calder trophy contending D-man(Hughes) to add to 2 solid veteran D-men (Edler, Tanev) and a D-man (Stecher) that most Canuck fans says has the "most heart/unsung hero" on the team. What more did/do you expect JB to do in terms of D? What you see is what you get for the Canucks D this season.Maybe a couple of farm hands (OJ, Rafferty) crack the lineup next season but don't expect those 2 to come in like gang busters and change the whole look of the D. WYSIWYG.
  17. You didn't list a single salary $ amount for all of your "signings". How is this a cap strategy when you didn't include any #'s related to the actual salary cap?
  18. What are you basing this on..? Their #'s are nearly identical even though Florida at the time was an awful team, which explains the difference in W-L record. Markstrom first 2 seasons (age 22-23 and on a Florida team that was near the bottom of the league those 2 seasons) 30GP 29GS 10-18-2 .912SV% 2.94GAA Demko first 2 seasons (age 23-24 and on a Canuck team that is currently contending for a division championship) 28GP 26GS 15-8-3 .909SV% 2.92GAA Demko is nowhere near "miles ahead" at the same age, not even remotely close.
  19. What a difference a year makes... Pacific Division one year ago Calgary--65pts San Jose--63pts Vegas--60pts Edmonton--49pts Anaheim--49pts Vancouver--48pts Arizona--45pts Los Angeles--42pts Pacific Division today Arizona--57pts +12pts Edmonton--55pts +6pts Calgary--55pts -10pts Vancouver--54pts +6pts Vegas--54pts -6pts San Jose--46pts -17pts Los Angeles--41pts -1pts Anaheim--39pts -10pts By this time last season Calgary, San Jose and Vegas had run away from the rest of the division and finished the season in the same order. Looks like the Cali teams are done barring a major turnaround so 3 spots (and maybe a WC or 2) for the remaining 5 teams. All 5 in the playoffs would make for some great series'.
  20. Yeah...you’re right...you must be out of tears following this team the last 4-5 years...my condolences..
  21. Only the most delusional Canuck fan considers 3 of the 7 wins above against the Oil and Predators as “top teams” this season...how do you explain the losses to NJ(2), Montreal, Anaheim, SJ...all “bottom” teams by your Canuck coloured world view...
  22. Soft skill NEVER goes far in this league and that’s literally all the Canucks have...3 days from a 7 game win streak and still out of the playoffs should honestly scare the hell out of realistic fans...but we all know reality and CDC are not good friends...
  23. Yeah except for the person that posted is generally a complete dumbass on here so I figured he just didn't know any better.
  24. McLean is already in the Ring of Honour so if/when the Canucks retire "1" it will be for Luongo.
