  1. Until benning came along, I barely followed our prospects. There was no one to follow (the gaunces, Schroeders, and jensens of the world did not create any excitement). World Jr's were never that interesting as we usually had nobody even playing in it. Now I follow whats going on regularly. Watch games in other leagues and world Jr's are great as we have multiple players playing for multiple teams. Benning and co have brought life into what used to be a black hole
  2. Gudbranson is a very poor defenseman but he brings a level of toughness to this team that we simply (for the time being) cannot go without. He keeps other teams goons pretty much in check, even if hes not fighting on a regular basis (look at how soft matthew tkachuk has been everytime we've played the flames... doesn't want to end up like hamonic). Guaranteed if he was out of the lineup, you'd see the pests from other teams taking far more liberties against our guys. I'd like gudbranson to either be a 3rd pairing guy, or replaced completely but only if we can replace his toughness/intimidation factor.
  3. "I dont really celly a goal. Just doing my job you know. Jk" Haha
  4. Is that leg/knee still bothering him? After the goalie knocked him down yesterday he looked like he couldn't put weight on his leg as he skated off the ice. Granted he didn't miss a shift, but that looks worrisome considering it wasn't even a play where it looked like his leg was involved.
  5. According to Ryan Biech's article from today regarding Hughes, it seems that as long as he plays 10 or less games, he will be exempt from the Seattle expansion draft in 2021.
  6. 2 knee surgeries and back surgery before ever stepping on the ice in the NHL can be reason enough to be concerned. I still have hope that he can turn into a serviceable dman for the Canucks, but those 3 injuries so early into his career have diminished the high hopes I had earlier. Age isn't a concern here, the types of injuries hes had so far are.
  7. was wondering the same thing... why the hell wasn't he on the 1pp throughout the tournament.
  8. He's clearly been one of the best skaters on the ice. He looks like he's skating out there in High Def while everyone else is running standard. That being said... I've seen him get out muscled on the puck multiple times and caught puck watching in his own zone quite a bit too. WJC isn't the be all tell all for players (EP didnt have an outstanding WJC for ex) but I think fans need to temper expectations on the kid that he's gonna be able to just come in and be our best dman from the get go. The talent and skills are there, but I think he'll need to be sheltered early on. On the powerplay he will definitely be an improvement for the team.
  9. Elias needs to send him his 12 step program for shooting.
  10. Oh ya pal? Well the jerk store called...
  11. You're so weird. This 80s alien persona is kinda creepy.
  12. Alf is definitely a troll. Used to annoy the crap out of me reading his/her/zhirs posts but after a while you just get over it and realize that this is an adult pretending to be a furry alien from the 80s. Alf goes over the top with everything
  13. Can someone say what happened? Is dahlen okay?
  14. You're either a Fedor fedorov clone troll or you're just terrible at analyzing hockey and players. I hope you're just a troll because reading your posts throughout this thread gives me a headache.
  15. Some of those guys are just drinking all the haterade thats out there.
  16. Connor mcdavid won the fastest skater comp last year with 13.454... Virtanens time was 13.471 wearing a Cape. I'd say his speed is pretty elite
  17. Hopefully they take Erikson, we can throw in some no line no cover passes for the Roxy for the whole team to sweeten the deal.
  18. I dont know if people are so much concerned with his play as they are with his injuries. At least that's the only thing that concerns me. One knee surgery, back surgery, and now potentially another knee injury (really hoping it's not serious) all before hes ever played an nhl game. That's what's concerning. He has the iq and tools to be a solid dman, but injuries can take that all away.
  19. Should send Erikson down there to teach him all about the Little Things.
  20. Lookin like they just walked out of the Amsterdam Cafe. Embracing Vancouver with full force
  21. 6th in the league for points by a dman and 1st for rookie dmen.
