  1. He's an alien processing new data and adjusting by the second.
  2. There were good and bad parts to his game tonight. Overall this preseason I've seen enough to stay hopeful that there is some quality potential in him, just will take time.. Can't rush it. The surgery was a little set back and some time in Utica will do him good. Our defense will certainly go through its cycle of injuries like it does every year. We will see more OJ throughout the season for sure.
  3. I've been begging for ep and boeser to be on the same line. Itll become permanent eventually
  4. I think I'm understanding why he's called "Alien". He's been sent here from a hockey universe and he gets better and better with every game as he reads and learns our primitive human ways, adjusting his own to unworldly levels. Swedish hockey robocop sent to raise us a cup one day.
  5. Couple things about EP that stood out for me in today's game. His passes are so crisp and fast right onto the stick... his back and forth passing with Goldobin throughout the game was really fun to watch. Really liked a few plays in his own zone where he used his body to shield the puck and make the proper play. Was not a liability out there. Unlucky not to get a couple more assists... but this kid is for real. I can't wait to see more.
  6. Currently there’s no legislation that allows for police to without a warrant or some justifiable cause to enter into people’s private residences so I think we have to tread carefully on that but if that is what the public wishes then I think it’s a step in the right direction for Trudeau to step forward and say we have to re-evaluate this.” Seems like that's exactly what's being talked about. I agree that there should be more done to fight gangs, but that doesn't include giving more power to big government and stripping peoples rights in the process. My parents grew up in a communist state where the government and police had all the power and the people had basically no rights, so seeing these kind of quotes immediately puts up red flags... they're steps towards a totalitarian type governance
  7. https://globalnews.ca/news/4425316/surrey-transit-announcement-justin-trudeau Let's allow police to search peoples homes without a warrant, sounds like a fantastic idea... I'm 100% sure that's exactly what the people want.
  8. I don't understand the obsession with trying to elevate our draft pick to the rank of undisputed #1 and in the process trying to devalue the other great players in this draft simply because the Canucks did not get a chance to draft them. Can we just be happy that we were able to draft an excellent player in Hughes? It will make zero difference in the future that he was drafted #7 or if he had been drafted #2 or #1... None of these players have even played an NHL game yet, but so many posters are eager to elevate Hughes because the Canucks drafted him, and devalue Dahlin because we missed out. Prior to the draft lottery, 99% of posters were praying we won the lottery so we could draft Dahlin, now all of a sudden since we got Hughes, its "Hughes will have a better career, Dahlin isn't that great, etc etc". They are two completely different players despite both of them playing the same position. Hughes may end up being a better offensive weapon, whereas Dahlin may end up being a better all around dman... time will only tell, but can we stop with all this should of could of ranking nonsense. Just be happy that we were able to snag Hughes when no one prior to the draft thought that he would even be available by the time our pick came about.
  9. what the hell did i just watch.
  10. Hope that's just the flash from the camera
  11. Pretty sure that's Big Dem and hes in Van to stay for a long time not a good time.
  12. Is it just me or has EP barely been on the ice?
  13. 157 kph (97.5mph) slapper is pretty impressive considering EP's size. Can anyone translate whats being said in the video?
  14. If you're not pushing for an NHL spot by the time you're 16, and aren't a bonafide star by 18, you're obviously a bust. How is that so hard to understand?
  15. "you're the biggest f'n diver in the league bud!" this is hilarious
  16. After a scrum in front of the lakers net. The mics picked up "HEY! WHAT THE F...?!" "You slashed me right over the hands!" surprised they're cursing in English.
  17. Rosen with another goal. 4-0 Pettersson started off the play, but no assist.
  18. none were as highly touted as Petterson. They brought excitement because for years upon years there was absolutely nothing down the pipeline in terms of upcoming young stars. We did not have anyone breaking 40 year old scoring records at the age of 19. We had no one dominating against men, winning scoring titles, and leading the playoffs in scoring against men at the age of 19. Coho was touted to be good, but he was not creating headlines like Petterson was on an international level, not even close.
  19. It's a Polish last name.. Pronounced, Lish - Chahr - Chik (at least thats as close I can translate to what an english pronunciation would sound like xD)
  20. the biggest difference in Stetcher's and Hutton's development from what I could see is that although Stetcher's offensive production dropped significantly from his rookie season, the other aspects of his game have improved and his effort level has been consistent. Whereas, Hutton is now in his third year, and not only has his offensive production dropped, but all other aspects (his speed in particular) of his game have regressed and his effort level has been consistently inconsistent. He's a liability on the ice.
  21. Small sample size but I was very impressed with what I saw out of gaudette. His puck pursuit was quite noticeable for me, as well as how well he was able to protect the puck once he has it. He's also made a bunch of great passes that lesser players probably would of just dumped in or gave up the possesion in his situation. He's been unlucky not to get a point, but if he keeps playing this way and is put on a line with more skilled forwards receiving those passes, he'll be contributing in no time. Expect him to be a key piece for this team moving forward. This training camp is going to be one of the most exciting if not the most exciting ever for the canucks with all this potential oozing from so many players
  22. Seeing him have this early success is a great sign. Has anyone gotten a chance to watch the two games in full? How does he look out there (besides the goals and assists)
  23. clearly must be a cancer in the locker room. Benning should trade him asap while his value is hot. /sarcasm
  24. i dont want to go completely overboard, but it would be amazing if Gaudette turned out to be vancouvers version of Johnny Gaudreau. Obviously not in terms of size or playstyle, but just a really late round pick that no one expected to have a huge impact. Obviously Johnny has turned out to be a superstar and not having that kind of expectation for Gaudette, but if he could turn into a solid 2nd line C... that's how you build championship teams. Later round gems.
