Louie Eriksson and Jake Virtanen and Jim Benning
The Great Canucks replied to CaptainLinden16's topic in Canucks Talk
Except Benning did have input in us choosing Pettersson, Hughes and Boeser. He also is the one who gives direction to the scouting staff. He certainly is a genius compared to you and his detractors. Nice try, but you fail again. -
2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC

It was a bone bruise, not a fracture. -
Now give him the C!

Yeah, you would say something this dumb. No, Dahlin is not scoring at the same pace, and he even had his struggles at times, too, like every other rookie. Something you would know if you had done your own research instead of wasting time telling everyone else to. You try so hard to be unbiased, it's clearly backfiring. Hate to break it to you, genius, but this is a case where we have every right to be "biased." Pettersson has had an amazing rookie year. Stop thinking you are unbiased, because you're not. But hey, I wouldn't expect any less from a child like you.

Eliot is younger and was able to sign a multi-year ELC. Teves and Rafferty can't. So no, in this case, it isn't bad asset management because otherwise we might not have been able to sign them.

We shouldn't be trading Demko. If Markstrom was a few years younger, then maybe you look at a trade, but, considering Markstrom's age, it would be better to keep Demko.

Except, no one will pay anything for a guy they could have for free next summer. No, they shouldn't try trading him because they still very well could sign him next year. There have been no hints that he plans on walking.

I don't care if he burned a year, I'm just glad he won't be eligible for the Seattle expansion.

Sikura signed with his team after four years. Lockwood could, too.

2018-19 Utica Comets Thread
The Great Canucks replied to stonecoldstevebernier's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
That's because several of Tampa's best players were late picks. No one expects them to light it up right away, so of course they'd go to the AHL first. -
Even Price had a bad few years in Montreal before becoming legit. Anyone who is panicking about Demko after only a handful of NHL starts is a moron.

Seriously? We get it, you are upset with how things are going in Utica. You don't need to say stupid sh** like this, too. There are enough dumbass Benning haters on here already. -

Well, I don't want Benning fired. Honestly, I doubt this problem would be fixed even if we had a new GM. You say he doesn't care? Well, I think that is a load of crap. This "problem" with Utica needs to be fixed through free agency, honestly. There is not much else he, or any other GM can do beyond that. You're not getting much in the way of prospects because they are either good enough to come to the NHL, or they are going to college, since we have been pretty damn successful going the NCAA route. You may not like that, but it's true and you have to deal with it. What really needs to change is seeing if the organization can do anything to minimize injuries. It's pathetic how many man games we lose each season. -

And how do you expect us to do that? We don't have the depth of assets to pay the asking price to move up.
