[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at San Jose Sharks | Jan. 29, 2020

That Markstrom save is the save of the year in the entire NHL IMO. Sure Fleury gets more of a headline for being the reason Babcock and others lost their jobs, but he was way out of position on that. This might be one of the top 5 saves I’ve seen of all time. -
Taking a quick look at that site I'm gonna take that with a grain of salt seeing at apparently Edmonton has a higher chance of winning the division with a lower point percentage. Also on this site: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html Canucks have a 94.5 % chance of making the playoffs and over 50% chance of winning the division.

[PGT] St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks | Jan. 27, 2020

Yes, but this was clearly the worst they’ve played the Blues out of their 3 matchups this season. It does suck that St Louis does play that annoying hair losing sort of hockey. Like all the turnovers in the defensive zone tonight are inexcusable. -

I am usually positive with the Canucks, but tonight just wasn’t it. They came out very sloppy and the puck barely left their zone in the third period. Really deserved to lose that one. Hopefully that is just a one off and we get good again -

I think that might be the worst effort of the season. Good on Demko to steal one- 602 replies

Cap Hell for Canucks!!! (GREAT NEWS from Daly re: CAP for next year!!)
Rindiculous replied to HKSR's topic in Canucks Talk
Everyone is giving our guys bloated contracts. Marky sure 5-6 mill. However Tanev will never be more than 4.5 mill there’s no comparable in the league for him that makes more than that. The younger guys who are not top end players like Gaudette are never given more than 1.5 mill. Virtanen via comparables is probably about 2.5 mill. Then Leivo is also 1.5 mill and Motte is 1 mill. Those are the realistic salaries and they easily fit under the cap. -
I think the Canucks could be better the second half than the first. The team has finally gelled these last 5 games or so. They also have a ton of home games left where they have been dominant. The one team I’d be scared of is Calgary if they figure it out, but besides that I think the Canucks are the best team in the Pacific. What I don’t understand how everyone seems convinced that Vegas is gonna run away with the division. Like seriously people have already penciled them in to that number 1 spot. Let’s look at the stats. They have played the most games in the Pacific division, they have played the most home games in the Pacific division (where they have done most of their damage), and they have 27 losses which is the same as the Minnesota Wild, they have just been getting all the loser points. They have clearly been the worst team out of the entire playoff race including Winnipeg and Chicago and I could totally see them being the team falling out of the race. Let’s say that the playoff line is 95 points, Vegas would have to go 19-11 (.633) to make it which is a pretty steep hill to climb, compare that to the Canucks who only have to go 18-14-1 (.561) which is a pretty hefty difference. For comparables the Avs have a .633 win percentage this year which is 7th in the league while the Arizona is .559 which is 17th in the league. And this isn’t even to win the division. Vegas has to almost be a top 5 team to reach the playoff bar for normal years meanwhile the Canucks can be below average. This is why I don’t believe Vegas will be anywhere near the top of the division at the end of the season.
