  1. Yah Theodore is such a steal for his cap hit. Like imagine having Quinn Hughes for his entire prime at 5.2 mill. Like wtf?
  2. They’re gonna have to probably trade 2 of Paciorretty, Marchessault, Martinez, Theodore, Karlsson, or Dadonov for basically nothing to get under the cap next year. They’re becoming way too top heavy like Toronto. They now have 3 players taking up 30 mill of cap, 2 of them with a full NMC.
  3. If they pick top 10 this year, they could very well be just as bad next year after gutting their team as well, especially if Eichel doesn’t get back to form. While I never want to see an elite player to have that happen, screw Vegas lol.
  4. And if Eichel never plays again if the surgery goes poorly, or Vegas misses the playoffs gives up a lottery pick and has to gut their team next year because all their players come back from LTIR making them 15 mill over the cap, or Krebs becomes an elite C man like he’s projected to be, this has the potential to be one of the worst trades in NHL history Vegas way. Vegas has taken all the risk.
  5. Canucks get the offensive icebreaker 6-2 Canucks. Miller GWG
  6. I'm very intrigued. That second PP unit looks good although I'm not sure how good Hughes would be in Bo's spot. He doesn't have that good a shot and he'd be in tight to all the defenders and while he can skate through the defenders to gain the zone very well, I'm not sure how good he'd be in tight because he seems a lot better when he can wind up his skating in open space.
  7. Yah didn't they go like 11/12 on the PP against Nashville in three games in 2019/20
  8. Yah, the first couple games were a bit rough, but Hughes has really gotten into a groove this season. He seems so much more responsible at even strength and just seems super comfortable back there. Honestly, the entire top two pairs have been beyond stellar to start the season. Quinn Hughes, OEL, Tyler Myers, and Tucker Poolman are all plus defensemen at +5, +1, +1, and +3 respectively which is incredible considering how much trouble the forward group has had so far this season. And people thought our defense was the bad part of our team entering the season lolol. I do still think we lack depth on the backend unlike at forward, but I did have the prediction that this defense could be a top 10 D group if they all played to their potential and so far they currently are a top 10 D group according to almost every stat out there. Our D and goaltending have really kept us in games, we're not getting blown out which is a good sign. Let's just really hope that the Rangers game is a turnaround for our offense. I am intrigued by the Garland-Petey-Miller line though they looked good last game.
  9. These defensive stats I've included not only paint him as a good defensive defenseman, but the very best in the entire league this year. On top of that, look at these graphs from both OEL and Myers compared to Tanev. These two have been the top shutdown pairing in the NHL. Only problem is their offense but I'm thinking once the Canucks actually start producing from their forwards more consistently, that will change. Imagine if they could keep these defensive stats as the best defensive pairing in the league while also becoming good offensively when hopefully the forwards turn it around offensively. OEL could turn Myers into a top pairing Dman if that happens. What a godsend OEL is for Myers.
  10. They had an even better second period (stats back me up) but hit like 4 posts...
  11. Yah, and did the Canucks rely on luck tonight? No, they didn't. They won the game despite being snakebitten compared to the Rangers. You can't just say "Oh, it doesn't matter if the power play is unlucky, they have to score anyway." There have been many games back from 2010 where the special teams were out of this world good, yet the Canucks still came out on the wrong end of how many PP goals were scored. IT'S BECAUSE LUCK IS A THING THAT EXISTS. This game was the most complete by the Canucks from beginning to end this season, and if you say this wasn't, please tell me a game that was.
  12. Luck evens out over the course of a season. You don't get lucky every game. Could have very easily been 2 for 6 vs 0 for 5 and boom it's now a 4-0 win.
  13. We weren't ridiculously bad on special teams either though. According to expected goals we had a much more potent pp than the Rangers. The one pp goal by the rangers was a complete fluke off the stick. The second was the only high danger scoring chance the Canucks allowed on their PK outside of the Demko sequence. Take out that one sprawling sequence by Demko, we had a higher expected goals on our last power play alone than the Rangers had on their first 4 power plays combined.
  14. Both goalies were great but Canucks hit like 4 posts in that second period. Canucks we’re clearly the better team that game except for special teams
  15. Demko did not steal it. He stole the one sequence, but this was by far the Canucks most complete game. They only allowed 24 shots that game while getting 35. They had over a 70% expected goals. Overall great team effort despite being slightly snakebitten that game.
  16. I am still losing my mind over Demko. What a freaking third period that was the best hockey I’ve watched in a long time!
  17. My god I’m still jumping up and down after that Demko sequence. Like wow what a &^@#ing beaut my oh my
  18. The Rangers haven’t had a 5 on 5 high danger scoring chance since halfway through the first period. And both high danger scoring chances in the first were very weak in tight shots that really did not have much of a chance at scoring
  19. Honestly most complete game of the season for the Canucks. It’s just been special teams this game
