  1. Things that make you go hmmmm......... Gadjovich gets his first goal of the season. Palmu, with 0 goals, also on the ice. Strange because this was the final two minutes and the Comets were down a goal. Was Cull ticked off at his top two lines ? Worked out very well. Capt Hindsight is pleased ! Cull also had Juolevi and Chatfield together for that goal. Not paired usually. (.......reading a stats sheet without seeing the game can be misleading ! )
  2. The interaction between the Canucks and Murphy's law.
  3. Good news ! I was travelling through rural Alberta many years back with CBC being the only radio station not playing 'crying music'. On a non sports show. Troy Gamble came on talking about the fact that he could never get back to 100% health. (....after a concussion ) Said he felt A 1, but his career went downhill. He was our goalie of the future at that time. Really hope that Demko's return is a more positive story !
  4. Good to hear. Was getting worried that his small stature was unable to withstand the KHL grind.
  5. You actually missed the best part ! At about the 3 min mark, 'bro' enters the conversation ( he's in a light blue t-shirt ). Classic stuff !
  6. Not me ! Pettersson needs a scorer on one wing. Goldobin could/ should be that guy, but, he is a game or three away from losing that spot if he doesn't start walking the talk ! The other winger needs to be someone who has good IQ and can read EP. CDC's favourite whipping boy is my choice.
  7. You're right ! Sorry, got my under weight draftees mixed up.
  8. Can't find the link, but I seem to remember BB kind of mocking this pick at the 2017 draft.
  9. To repeat from last June Boucher can look good, but for some reason that is often not the case. He has a NHL release for his shot. Just to jog CDCers memories, his last stint with the club last year brought out our whipping squad who ( somewhat correctly ) complained bitterly that Gaudette went pointless only because RB was unable to finish several prime set ups by AG. His third stint with the club was very disappointing, especially as the second stint had been so positive ! To quote Joey Tribbiani, 'it's a moo point', as he is injured.
  10. HUGE NEWS !!!!!!!!! Kristoffer Gunnarsson has scored a goal. Expecting him to go on a tear. Maybe two or three more points this season. Hope someone can dig up video of this historic goal ! ( hope they don't change the box score later ! )
  11. Watched a fair chunk of the Oilers/ Bruins last night. Don't know who the Oiler was, but there was an 'incident' away from the play where ratcrap was doing his thing. The Edmonton player pitchforked him. Went down hard, followed by whining to the refs. A happy moment !
  12. I am confused as to why McEneny is not in the mix. I don't know how close he is to being 'back to speed' after a long layoff, but I believe he's been mostly paired with Brisebois, so he's probably getting good TOI. Now that Biega is on the roster, perhaps he can move back to LD. Concerned that the top 4 is not the top 5 !
  13. Got to remember that Elder will be a year odler !
  14. After all these years.....time to find out what all the fuss was/ is about ! ....../s
  15. Will watch his passing tonight. I tend to side with TG here. Pouliot seems improved this year. Not great. Better than last year, but easily replaced by any of our 4 LD Utica prospects.
  16. I believe he has always played on the right ( very common in KHL ) and has stated his preference for the right side.
  17. Biega, as a #7/ #8 dman has great value on an NHL roster, but I think he has more value as an AHL veteran/ mentor. His two year one way contract is well deserved. A good signing by JB.
  18. So, you should know that he's playing on the right side. He has been 'non spectacular', but definitely an asset to the Pettersson line.
  19. Brisebois is stuck in the middle of some NHL ready depth. LD is probably our deepest asset. I put Sautner as top of that depth, McEneny ( needs time to get up to speed ) next with Juolevi and Brisebois a tiny step behind. All could play in the NHL now and not look out of place. These players are on a par with Pouliot and Hutton. Most of our LD falls into the 3rd pairing range ( include MDZ ). Brisebois and Juolevi will both rise above the 3rd pairing level.
  20. Boucher, if I remember correctly, was recalled 3 times last year. The 1st time, he was 'AHL level' Boucher. The 2nd time, he was very good. A switch seemed to have been flicked. ( can't remember if it was an injury replacement, but he was sent down after a successful stint ). The 3rd time, it was back to 'AHL level' Boucher again. That 2nd stint Boucher could stay in the NHL for a long time. Nose for the net and a quick, high quality release.
  21. Just like Roussel at training camp ! Minor incident, in a casual summer skate.
  22. Yes, totally agree. This would be right in Botchford's wheelhouse. Throw a grenade among the facts. The Canucks actually have a history of losing a promising goalie because of poor concussion etiquette. Troy Gamble is rarely talked about, but I heard him ( and two non sports people ) talking about concussions on CBC ( years ago ) Said he was brought back very quickly, but could never focus 100%. His average ballooned, and he was soon out of hockey. I doubt ( but don't know ) that he ever received any financial consideration.
  23. Was this not a 'Botchford' article ? A Toronto tosser who has spent too long stirring the pot with half truths and Pratt-ish opinions ? Why is he suddenly a legitimate news source ? ( It could all be true. Just surprised Botchford is now taken seriously )
  24. Am I correct in thinking that a phone hearing means 5 games max ?
  25. Very limited viewing, but he was keeping up with the play with no problem. He doesn't go deep into the offensive zone ( no surprise there ). Can see why he doesn't have Orr like stats. edit: he didn't carry the puck at all while I was watching. Put it off the boards as soon as it hit his stick. I'm assuming they use him to protect a lead.
