I thought this too. Thought players like Bancks and Hamilton had nothing to do with Vancouver.

Biega has now spent 30 days with the Canucks. Has to be put on waivers to return to Utica. Probably not our biggest problem.

Strike one ! I have been trying hard to be positive about Schaller, but my preference would have been to keep Gaunce. I knew nothing about him when JB signed him and had to look him up in HockeyDB. I keep thinking, 'how did he get 12 goals ?' I've seen very limited offence. I wonder what JB expected from him !

Not too sure what you want from our 'eyes in Utica'. I really appreciate their perspective. It's a tad negative at the moment, but it's both logical and emotional in nature, which is just fine. If negativity causes you 'angst', a fans' forum might be a hard road to travel. -
24th Nov........Archibald on waivers.

Basically down to one 2nd class troll. @FedorFedorov has been trying to get the pot stirred and that is his 'go to' theme. -

Markstrom has 1A talent. Trouble is the routine stuff often gives him trouble. Ryan Miller could always be counted on to deal with all that stuff. With Markstrom you're kind of expecting the occasional brain hiccup. CDCers should remember that JM's Utica time was superior/ equal to Demko's time. Feel free to re-write history if you want, but he was superb at the AHL level. If you have high hopes for Demko, you should compare his time in Utica to JM's time. As far as..... .......maybe Richard Brodeur ? Came here for 'future considerations' from NYI ( ex WHA )( 27/ 28 at the 'end' of a mediocre career ) and was slated as backup to Hanlon I think. Got thrown in the deep end and became King Richard !

Looking at EliteProspects updated stats, it seems that the Hughes/ Lockwood assists in 2nd OT don't get counted. Pity ! Strange system.

Sent down today. Does Utica ever play Chicago ?
-
Was this play even reviewed by NHL ? I would think that any concussion would be reviewed, but don't recall any decision by the league office.
-
Well, it's 6 weeks since his injury. Think I heard that his expected return had been changed to early Dec.. No real info to base any predictions on. Any news on how things are going ? Sort of eerily silent !

The new coach in LA might ask his GM to take a low risk flyer on AB ! Huge loss for Utica. AB should be down in the AHL being an A grade veteran presence !

Works great if they are playing on the West Coast. They're playing out East quite often and Utica works just fine ! -

Personally, I appreciate the local viewpoints from Utica fans. Don't shoot the messenger(s) ! We have some players down on the farm that had high expectations on their shoulders. Almost no-one has risen to the challenge. In fact if Rob Zepp was not pumping OJ's tyres, there would be none. All the shiny toys and no uplifting story ! OJ, Jasek, Gadjovich, Lind, Palmu, Dahlen. No real celebrations there ! I'm not a negative leaner, but have grown numb to the 'negative ninjas' after 4 years of following CDC. The Utica guys are stuck in a valley at the moment. Let them vent ! -

You see a guy that bolted ? I see a loyal player that wanted to help his team move up to the SHL. A team player....that's a good thing. More 'put down' language with him fuming ( those burning britches ! ) about not being with Pettersson. Total assumption. Totally negative assumption. Spending another year in Sweden allowed him to be both a great teammate and add a year of weight/ muscle. A good idea. -

Does this mean that Jasek at centre is in the past ? -
Oshawa only showing 16 names vs Sarnia. Brassard not listed. Edit: Brassard playing. OHL site added the two unlisted players for the 2nd period.

Agree. Just seems that all the players drafted around JV are often discussed. Always Nylander and Ehlers, and recently Bennett. Maybe dal Colle will join the conversation. ( he has been labelled a 'bust'. It will be interesting to see if a D+4 can still find success ).
-
A bit off topic, but Michael dal Colle called up today. His AHL stats are much improved over past seasons. NYI play Rangers tonight.

Well said. Keep waiting for Goldobin to take that 'next step'. It seems to be so, so close, but is just not happening. Has me squirming uncomfortably from the couch. This time with Pettersson ( and no Baertschi ) has to have more positive results than negative. We seem to be around 50/ 50 at the moment.

Things that make you go hmmmm......... Gadjovich gets his first goal of the season. Palmu, with 0 goals, also on the ice. Strange because this was the final two minutes and the Comets were down a goal. Was Cull ticked off at his top two lines ? Worked out very well. Capt Hindsight is pleased ! Cull also had Juolevi and Chatfield together for that goal. Not paired usually. (.......reading a stats sheet without seeing the game can be misleading ! ) -
Thought that Archibald looked very good in his +/- 10min against Detroit. Had two nice scoring chances. Have not been a huge fan, as I feel he is a 1/4 step too slow, but he was doing a great job of screening the goalie whenever he was on the ice. Hope to see more of the same from him.
