  1. Seems to have been moved down to the 4th unit. ( khl has 3x 5 units, 1x 4 unit ). Not a good sign. His team, Avangard, won in overtime. Goal scored by Sergei Shirokov. AM held pointless.
  2. Can anyone name the 'sports journalists' who are featured in this clip ? Bloggers I assume, plus a more main stream tosser.
  3. Hmmmm........both EliteProspects and HockeyDB show Jett Woo as having played in Moose Jaw's season opener. WHL site does not have him in the game summary. HockeyDB shows 19 skaters as having played. I'm thinking that he's still injured ! Anyone able to update ?
  4. Ben Hutton got a 30 min 'show me' game vs LAK. It will be interesting to see if TG has a similar look-see with Pouliot. On the surface, these two seem to be contesting one roster spot. Of course, they could both be part of our 8 man d, depends where Juolevi, Biega and even Sautner fit into the conversation.
  5. It's only disappointing because I have/ had him as NHL ready now. I liked his small sample from last year. I think that 20 games in Utica will be more than enough to make him NHL ready. This is assuming last night's game is where his bar is set. 4 more games to show more. I have him rated only after Pettersson, with Juolevi #3. ( of the rookies ) A lot of posters are throwing too many vets away in their mock rosters, hence the shout out for Sutter. I see only Pettersson making the opening 23 !
  6. When he was injured last year, he was Cull's #1 LD ( Sautner #2, Brisebois #3). Cull loved him. No-one has passed him by. I think Sautner is NHL ready and Brisebois is looking good ( will watch him closely tonight ), but McEneny, if fully recovered, should be the best of these three.
  7. Am also confused. Another poster said that he was skating pre practice with Roussel, but 650 was talking about Roussel skating 'alone', so nothing clear there. Green at one point said that everyone was healthy, then added ( later ) that Roussel was not healthy, but did not mention McEneny.
  8. I get easily confused with all the 'fine print' on the ELC stuff, but it appears that Shinkaruk was in the same boat as Gadjovich and ended up being paid for 4 years under a 3 year contract. I'm sure I've got it all wrong......so, nothing new there !
  9. Takeaway from last night's game. Gaudette ( who I think has a very bright future ) is nowhere near ready. One game means nothing, but Sutter was so much better, it was disappointing. All those pencilling Gaudette into the opening line up have to step back for 20 games or so. He'll get there, but as of today, he's not NHL ready !
  10. Totally agree. All the 'dump all the vets' whining should cease immediately, but it won't, of course ! It was not a case of Sutter being 'great'. He was in his normal mode. The shiny new toys have a way to go still. Have patience !
  11. I'm a Gaunce fan, but do see this duo ( Gaunce/ Archibald ) going to Utica. I think the 13th spot will go to a top 6 type of player ( Gagner, Goldobin ) I'm not advocating for moving Motte, I just think that his waiver status gives him value and JB might want to use that value.
  12. Not me. I thought he looked good last year, but he was definitely a bottom 6 ( probably 4th line ) player. I think the team this year is being build around the bottom 6 and Motte just doesn't make it. Gaunce/ Archibald would probably be the depth guys for that group. MacEwen/ Gadjovich later in the season. JB may view him as a wasted asset in Utica.
  13. This fact might make him the 'easiest to trade' of all the bubble players. Might work well for a team wanting depth but not wanting to gamble on sending a player through waivers.
  14. The Hughes brothers could have played on the same team this year. It doesn't seem like they did everything possible to make that happen. In fact, they seemed to shy away from the idea of playing together. Either brother could have opted into the other's team.
  15. I believe they both missed the same two games. Hmmm !
  16. Our bottom 6 won't really fit the 3rd/ 4th line stereotype. Two 'defence first' lines ( my opinion, so worthless ) !
  17. Well I guess he could be our 'hero', but just for one day !
  18. Gaunce has always played LW. I might have missed him playing RW. Correct me if I'm wrong. As far as playing with Beagle goes, I'm of the mind that Green has two defensive lines in his plans. One being pure d only, ie Beagle plus two, the other ( slightly more offense ) being Sutter plus two. Gaunce ( if he makes the roster ), fits with Beagle, Schaller, with a slightly more offensive side, fits nicely with Sutter.
  19. KG's season in SHL ( Frolunda ) has started. KG is playing on their 4th grouping ( only 4 players, roster of 19 skaters it seems ). KG kept up his torrid non-scoring pace with 0g/ 0a ! His team won 2-1 !
  20. Re the bolded... The 2014 draft had two top layers iirc. The top 5 was almost unchanged from mock draft to mock draft. A small number of scribes didn't include dal Colle in their top 5 ( very few ). The 2nd tier was Ehlers,Virtanen, Nylander ( less consensus, I think Ritchie and Kapanen were being included ). MyNHLdraft had Virtanen rated #7 ( ahead of both Ehlers and Nylander ), so hardly an off the board pick ( Boeser was ranked 2nd round in 2015, he was a bit of a stretch, myNHLdraft being an average of many mocks ). I don't know if dal Colle has an NHL future, but I think the consensus top 10 was fairly set and has proved to be somewhat accurate.
  21. This might happen in the pre-season. Green knows that Gaunce can score at the NHL level, he just has to convince Gaunce of that. Once the season starts, if Gaunce is on our roster, he will be Beagle's LW.
  22. Should have added that, but took it as understood.
  23. He has a one way contract. He must pass through waivers if sent to AHL.
  24. Schaller is now 'not' injured, so probably doesn't save my boy !
