Schaller is now 'not' injured, so probably doesn't save my boy !
-
Alex Biega is a win/ win player for the Canucks. He fills the #7/ #8 dman role better than, perhaps, any other NHLer. If he ends up in Utica, he will be a superb captain and a valuable vet dman for the Comets. Only dark lining to this silver cloud is his journey through waivers. I doubt anyone grabs him off waivers, but you never know ! ( teams are just not too worried about #7/ #8 dmen ! )

#93, Vasilevski missed the same two games. Are NT and Vasilevski d partners ?

Got to have a list of these 'know nothing' wankers. Please add other brain dead media to my list ! So far.........#1. Trevor Knapp #2. Jackson McDonald. There just might be one or two more, especially if we include the all knowing, all seeing Eastern man-bun crowd !

Neither a borrower nor a lender be.........W.S. ( I'm sure you'll outlive us all Joe ! )

Troy Stecher about to embark on his 3rd season. I'm going to start counting how many posters still can't spell his name. I think there were 5 different posters who found it too difficult yesterday. Just 2 so far today. Is it really so hard to spell ? ( there are lots of mock rosters at the moment, so lots of chances to get it wrong )
-
Re bolded....so it is sort of like 'rocket science' ?

You know nothing about Gaunce. He might not make the opening day roster, but your statement about his work ethic is total garbage !
-
You may well be right ! The 2x pure defensive lines is a conclusion I jumped to when Beagle/ Roussel / Schaller were signed. JB ( or maybe it was TG ) stated that Sutter was so good when given a specific roll. Beagle and Sutter both seem best suited for defensive work. I have no idea how much more offense is expected from Sutter with Beagle on board. Training camp will answer many, many questions that many of us have !
-
Too many posters make these absolute statements. Most don't keep their promises.
-
Temporarily, Schaller might not be there and long term, Granlund would be his main competition. I think Granlund has more value to JB. A lot depends on what plans JB has for the 13th forward.
-
I am one of those Gaunce defenders. I do see him ending the season on an NHL roster. He might start the season in the AHL. Where I think he comes through, is that I'm convinced that JB/ TG have two totally defensive lines in mind. If that is fact, Gaunce is a perfect fit. Definitely beats any rookie and Gagner too. His competition for a defensive roll would come from Granlund. Training camp will be full of interesting options !

Dahlen looks great ! Amazing how quiet the Goldobin enthusiasts have become ( without him doing anything wrong ! )

I don't know if you are saying that we were wrong not to draft Nylander or Ehlers. You really have to be true to the context of the day. #1 we needed a dman or power forward #2 we had ( it was constantly being debated ) too many euros. Great for the Presidents cup, but sucked for the post season. #3 we'd been bitten a couple of times with recent 'skill' picks ( Jensen & Schroeder ) #4 the 2014 draft was not deep in dmen ( which we needed the most ). The Nylander/ Ehlers / Virtanen debate was probably more of a Virtanen/ Ritchie debate for our scouts !

USCHO site shows a Michigan game on 6th Oct..

9th Sept game, NT did not play, nor is he listed as injured. So, to use Dave Pratt logic.......'what we know for sure is Tryamkin is headed back to Vancouver !'......../s

Seeing that @guntrix's favourite hobby is the 'never ending, around and around, chasing your tail' debate, I doubt he minds you piling on.

I recall a poster demanding that Edler be dropped from the roster and replaced by Jordan Subban. Great ideas that could be followed. The tank nation would be eternally happy. We could demand who gets drafted too. It's hard having a logical discussion in an emotional fight

Schroeder is a great depth guy. Excellent at the AHL level, can fill in at the NHL level. Has had 6 seasons in the NHL with more than 20 games. Depth player. If you can separate his first round status from the equation, he has had a serviceable career. He'll probably finish his career with 200+ games. Nice !

Haha.......very mature of you ! Wise too.

For those interested in jersey #s From The Canuck Library..... http://www3.telus.net/dmarchak/cannumb.htm

Sadly, one of the main components of today's 'media' is being 1st with the story ! Fact checking could derail a career defining 'scoop' ( think Eklund......one scoop/ lucky guess goes a long way ). It's not just the BCIT grads of the world. I've seen typos on the BBC site. Gotta get the story out now, now, now !

Markstrom and Demko have very similar pasts. Both early 2nd round picks ( both projected as late 1st rounders by some ). With Markstrom, the Canucks seem to have tried to follow the successful Schneider plan ( after being rushed a bit by Florida ). Demko has not received 100% rave revues in Utica. He is touted as being weak to his glove side. If that is a fair criticism, it will be exploited in the NHL. Be patient !

Used to turn at Art Knapp's when I lived in sunny Surrey. I believe that 'Art Knapp' is the business name of Bill vander Zalm.

I believe that CapFriendly have shown that date. For some reason, he is now shown as 'indefinite' ! ..........as is Dmitry Zhukenov.
