KHL stats show that Artem was part of Avangard's '2nd 5 man unit'. Avangard won 4-0, but Manukyan was held pointless.

Nhl network top 50 prospects includes 4 canucks
SingleThorn replied to cuporbust's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Well it's a list done by someone who probably has very little real live knowledge of the players. Mostly second or third hand reports. On an emotional level, I want maybe 10/ 11/ 12 Canuck prospects on this list ! ..........so, the list sucks ! On a logical level, I have no problem with the list as I've 'seen' maybe a dozen names on the list play. I have zero real idea if the list is good or bad. -
Yes, 108 points is probably top 8ish ( the way I define a 'top' team ). Coincidentally, that was SG's best year, statistically speaking.
-
Thanks for that info, I never saw Jake play for the Hitmen, but got the impression that he scored off the left wing. Many have put it forward as an option. Not too sure why now.
-
In junior, Jake's hi-lite reel was often scoring off the left wing. Many have suggested that he should line up on the left, but neither of his NHL coaches has done this. It probably has way more to do with exiting the d-zone than entering the o-zone.

If ever a post needed context, this is it ! Posted around midnight doesn't help convince me ( the poster does not list any location ), neither does the smiley face at the end. So......if true, great, but my BS meter is in the Dave Pratt zone after reading this.

I'm amazed at how much everyone, except me, seems to know about Schaller. I had to look him up when we traded for him. How many Boston games do CDCers watch ? I saw maybe 4, 5 or 6 of their games last year and was way too busy watching our team plus their first line, Chara and McAvoy. Didn't even notice Schaller. I note a handful of numbers before watching a game, but can't remember 18 numbers. I don't do the YouTube thing anymore, as I got burned thinking that Dane Fox was our next 50 goal scorer ! I guess it's like the draft. I know about a dozen players by sight, while others have detailed info on edge work, first strides and quick releases, for many, many players (some that I have not heard of ). Telus is letting me down !

Be kind @canuck73_3, you're making @Where'd Luongo? wear out his 'puzzled' button !

2018-19 Utica Comets Thread
SingleThorn replied to stonecoldstevebernier's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
You can 'edit' your post and remove any Coments that you now regret !! -
Not a lot of chatter around Gadjovich. The primo rookies get a fair amount of mention,( Pettersson, Dahlen, Hughes ) and a some players ( Lind, Woo, DiPietro ) get mentioned as well, but nothing on big Jonah. Seems that he is a 2nd/ 3rd tier prospect. Have high hopes for him !
-
Thanks to @CRAZY_4_NAZZY for the article. Have to admit, I've probably seen Schaller at least 4 times on TV, but was totally unaware of him until he signed with us. Went to HockeyDB expecting to see a primo AHL stat sheet. He is one of the many 'must see' players that I'll be keeping an eye on at training camp ( or early season ).
-
Where do the Sens fans think he is most likely to go ? Surely we aren't in their top 'most likely' list !
-
He has fat fingers and pressed both the 'o' and the 'p' at the same time ! ie 'top' is 'to'.
-
As far as the expectations go, things stay the same for years. Any 1st or 2nd rounder will be under the microscope for way too long. Would you remember the name 'Libor Polasek' if he had been drafted in the 3rd round ?
-
It will be interesting to follow his season. My first question is, what's his current weight ? Does the KHL post heights/ weights ? I'm told that size doesn't matter, but, 139 lbs seems just a tad fragile.

You seem to be saying that we received Wesley ? Just for the record, we didn't specifically trade Neely. The final result, was that Boston chose Neely. The deal was lined up to RFA signing penalties of the day. The rules were that Canucks would have to give BB a 1st round pick plus a player ( chosen by Boston ) off our roster. Certain rookies were exempt, plus the Canucks could protect 4 players. We had players like Gradin, Smyl, Sundstrom, Tanti, Skriko, Lidster, Lanz, Daigneault etc.. Don't know who we protected, but things didn't work out very well for us. ( no-one expected the draft pick to be that high either ! )

Don't get too upset with Eastcoast, he is a good poster and he spells very well. Trouble here is, he got caught in a little white lie ( some time back ) with his misspelling of Boqvist and decided to blame auto spell on his eastcoast phone ( never mind that that phone has 3 different versions of misspelled Boqvist ). He is now just having fun with it. Ignore the annoying stuff and enjoy the rest of his posting. PS.....if you think he's not taking the Mickey, reread this post. Obviously going waaaaay out of his way to include his misspelling. Several posters have politely tried to steer him to the correct spelling, but he's enjoying himself too much to do that.

Canucks Top Ten prospects (Updated for 2018-2019)
SingleThorn replied to 48MPHSlapShot's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Although the OP doesn't specify, I'm assuming that his list is "ceiling" driven. If the list was next in line to play for the Canucks, I would hope that Ashton Sautner and Evan McEneny would get a bit of respect. -
Why is nobody asking Mrs Tryamkin what she thinks ? There's a 50 / 50 chance that she was the catalyst for this return to Russia. Where does she stand today ? Secondly, NT's agent has to realise that this move has damaged his bargaining power and earning power. Not just with the Canucks, so it's damage control time. For this reason, I take all the 'pro Canuck' rumours with a dose of salt. I hope that these rumours are true, but we don't KNOW that they are.

Nothing to see here ! Blindfolded darts competition. CDCers will see through the BS and there is no chance that someone starts a separate thread on this tweet !......./s

When trying to have a logical discussion and getting only emotional responses, there can be no no end to the debate. Not a huge WD fan myself, but I find the Capt Hindsight, cherry picked, emotional garbage to be tiresome.
-
If NT comes back after his KHL contract expires and plays that next year ( that the Canucks hold the rights to ), what will his status be at the end of all that ? ( RFA ? UFA ? ) I'm assuming that we will be a top 16 team by then and a TDL trade might not be an option. PS.....CapFriendly shows that our NHL rights to NT are 'indefinite'. Don't understand where we actually stand. ( I thought it was/ is 3 more years ! ) https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks/reserve-list

I love Tryamkin. If he came back, my bum would be in a seat ! His absence is absolutely a 'glitch'. I don't know how else you could see it. In a perfect world, he would be on our roster. He's not......something went wrong. Sorry about the Manukyan hopes. It was really a weak attempt at humour. I'm really not expecting him to lead us to the SCF. (....but, hope springs eternal )

Did I put the Oxford comma in the wrong spot ?

There have been some very good Russians, but there always seems to be a glitch or two. Bure, the most talented Canuck ever, never really seemed like he wanted to be here. Larionov, a favourite, had politics screw everything up. Artem Chubarov, a personal favourite, seemed destined to return, but his Audi just collected dust in the underground parking. Add in all the negative Russian experiences like Kirill Koltsov ( + Grot, another 2nd rounder that year ) and Tryamkin being unhappy with their playing time, plus all the draftees who never showed up to a training camp, and we are a touch edgy when thinking of adding more Russians. Imagine the angst if we had taken ( as many wanted ) Nickushkin instead of Horvat ! Now, if Artem Manukyan turns into a big star for us, I'll pretend I never said this.
