  1. American tourist ( wanting a Waldorf salad )..........I'm going to bust your ass Fawlty ! Sybil........what did he say, Basil ? Basil......I don't know, I think he wants to break my bottom !
  2. Evidently he's wanting $100 for every time his name is misspelled on CDC. ( 124 pages worth so far....too rich for the 'nucks ! ) /s
  3. Looks like the Canucks have decided to go with 2x offensive lines and 2x defensive. We are still in the rebuild/ retool time frame and I think this is a good plan. A year ( or two ) down the road, when we evolve into a top 16 candidate, I think the framework will become 2x offensive lines, 1x defensive line and a 4th line to meet the needs of the day ( offensive, defensive, tough, high energy etc ). Really don't see the Beagle signing meaning the end of BS's time here.
  4. Yes indeed. My main 'want the real number' is Petrus Palmu. Euro sources have him as 171cm ie 5'7" ( or 5 point 6 feet ). I know we only recently went metric ( /s ) 1985ish I believe, but I think we can do better !
  5. Always remember.........the ignore button is your friend ! Serenity now !
  6. Thanks @SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME. Really appreciate you going the extra mile to answer. CDC can be a strange place sometimes, but thanks to a small # of straight shooters such as yourself, can be both interesting and informative. Cheers !!
  7. Thanks. They are the same age, but their ELCs were signed 5 months apart. All too complicated for my little brain.
  8. Do they have an official height/ weight update at these camps ?
  9. Good news ! But........i do recall being very impressed with the great skating ( and size ) of Mackenze Stewart .
  10. Can anyone tell me why Kole Lind's contract is not 'slide-able' while Jonah Gadjovich's is ? The only difference I see is that Kole played a handful of AHL games. Their birth dates and CHL careers are similar. Thanks. CapFriendly link..... https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks
  11. He was at our camp, then signed an AHL contract. The set-up with Ch. Wolves was different from most AHL teams, so not too sure if his contract was via the Canucks or Wolves. The Wolves used the Canuck players just to fill in the mandated rookie slots on an AHL team. There was almost zero learning for our players. The Jets returning to Winnipeg set us back years !
  12. Petrus Palmu is often listed as 5'6". He's 171 cm which is 5.6ft ( as in 5 point 6 feet ) That translates to 5'7". So all us Canuck fans panicking about his height, can now relax. ( It's a rainy day....there's nothing else to do ! )
  13. I don't know. I'm just thinking to myself 'I don't think that's QH' ! Maybe it's the shoes !
  14. As a CDCer who was not as anti Botchford as many here are, make room, I'm now all aboard ! Their juvenile 'joking' about the pronunciation of Brisebois is beyond pathetic !
  15. Don't be a tanker wanker........anyway, JB has it covered. He has hired a new ( and truculent ) member to his staff. His only duty is to represent us at the draft lottery !
  16. Interesting look back. Liam Foudy at mid season was ranked in the 90s. Did not realise how up/ down/ up his season rankings were. Edit: ......and what happened to the Bouchards ? Evan not rated and Xavier at #18 ( taken in 6th round )
  17. That doesn't sound as impressive as I intended ! Good eye........the "Calder Trophy". lol.
  18. Manukyan, like all our draftees, is a future Calder Cup finalist, until he isn't !! Capt. Futuresight says so. Capt. Hindsight will, of course, see things in a totally different way. Capt. Futuresight loved Petrus Palmu too and today he has an ELC. He's not always wrong !!
  19. I missed DP's 'what we know for sure........' broadcast this morning ( okay the last 337 mornings in a row ! ). How did the Mr Leather Pants rate this draft ?
  20. Any news update for Y-P Laplante. Never did know what put him out for the season. An AHL version of Dorsett.
  21. No ! He can attend camp, but no money can be involved. No freebies ( meals ? lodging ? )
  22. My poor little brain doesn't know what to think ! I'm going to wait for Dave Pratt's expert analysis. /s
  23. Very happy with with this pick. I ( somewhat tongue in cheek ) wanted JB to draft 6 d-men. With Hughes and Woo, a huge improvement in our 'top 4' d-man pool.
  24. JB seems to have adopted a 'swing for the fences' attitude to his later picks. Starting with Abols then Gunnarsson, Palmu and now Manukyan. Our depth issues are less obvious now and it would be hard to fit all our drafted players into the 50 man roster. Those ELCs can clog up our system for 3 years each. Might as well lean towards the outliers with a high ceiling component to their game. I know I'm looking forward to seeing Kristoffer Gunnarsson ( 0g, 0a ) as much as our new high scoring munchkins !
  25. Worst draft ever /s ! Well only 6 Calder cup finalists ! Sad. On a serious note, might as well swing for the fences in the last couple of rounds.
