  1. We could re-name the team the 'shiny new toy overload' ! After today, you'll probably have a couple of newer shiny new names for the roster !
  2. His AHL salary is $300k, but there's a guaranteed $400k minimum.
  3. Indeed ! Now we just have to get @Alf involved........or are @Alf and @Alflives the same person ?
  4. If I remember correctly, Boucher had 3 stints with the NHL last season. His 1st and 3rd visits were same old RB. The 2nd stint, he was great. Looked better than Goldobin. Can't imagine anything more than one year. Make or break time for a 'high ceiling, low floor' player !
  5. I'm not a YouTube person, but the clips above gave me a chuckle. The big guy could be a lot of fun to watch. His few 'end to end' rushes were a treat. Something that hasn't been discussed too much is that his popularity will put bums in seats. Lots of bums. Follow the money. I believe the Canucks are working hard behind the scenes to get him back.
  6. Nothing........love your stuff ! Didn't want to pick on one of the Negative Ninjas/ tough guys/ never ending blah, blah guys. It would open an ugly can of worms that would go on forever. Really shouldn't have picked on anyone. Vain attempt at humour. Would love it if CDC had a list of banned posters.
  7. After following the link, I read the feedback on SN. Haven't done this in some time. One + posters had hijacked SN comments section and made it all about him/ them. Surprise, surprise, but the same character ( Arty57 ) is still there making the comments section 'all about Arty'. Recently our forums page was down ( along with all NHL team forums ). I went to HF. Ouch ! Talk about total crapolla. Our Rugby friend from CDC was there. His post didn't jump out like it would on CDC as it wasn't the 'most negative' by a country mile. I think that's why he likes CDC so much. His negativity draws attention on CDC. On HF, he's just another Sean the Sheep. Kudos to the CDC moderators for keeping the Artys of the world elsewhere. Now.......let's talk about Alf.
  8. Not sure if we're talking about the same dates, but KG must be signed by 1/6/2019. https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks/reserve-list
  9. As per CapFriendly........ https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks/reserve-list
  10. When training camp rolls around, the #1 'must see' for me will be Ben Hutton's performance. There are going to be many, many interesting stories at training camp, but most will not involve the opening day 2018/ 19 roster. Hutton and Gaudette will be the biggest ?s at camp. Dahlen, Goldobin and others less so. I don't rate Pettersson as a '?'. Like all end of season interviews, Hutton talks a good story. Let's hope that the 'walk' equals the 'talk'.
  11. Would love the links to these two thoughts. If I heard Dave Pratt saying 'What we know is Tanev loves TO' I'd call BS. I can't believe how many CDCers are trying to move Tanev. Canucks need 4 top 4 d-men. We have 2. Where is the hockey logic in dumping 1 of those 2. Suddenly Edler is left alone to carry a defence full of #5/ #6/ #7 d-men. We need another ( or 2 ) Tanevs, not 1 less ! I guess if we snap our fingers and John Carlson suddenly appears on our roster, things might work out.
  12. I doubt that the poster is young. Darin Bader was drafted in 1990 and I doubt too many young fans know of him
  13. Any retool/ rebuild has to hit rock bottom. I think we are now heading 'upwards'. A small step, but we are now going in a positive direction. What the 'nucks need at this time is a solid veteran d group. Maybe a calm, efficient RHD who can play 20+ min and shelter all our shiny new toys. Where oh where can we find such a d man ? Seems that about 56 different postings have determined that this can be achieved by trading CT ! The whole 'trade CT' movement is just not based on logic. CT is exactly the kind of player we need ! Cue 27 more 'trade CT' threads !
  14. More to do with poor record keeping. Bure was slotted to be a pick in 1990. Igor Larionov let the Canucks know that Bure had played a bunch of unrecorded games. Those unrecorded games made him eligible for '89. At least a couple of teams protested the pick and for a while it seemed that we might have the pick taken away from us. He was rated #1 for 1990 !
  15. Middle # is ELC signing bonus. ( x3 ) CapFriendly answers all questions ! https://www.capfriendly.com/players/lukas-jasek
  16. Per CapFriendly https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canucks/reserve-list
  17. To be clear, ( poor wording on my part ) I don't see BG as a top six player. But.......I believe he could play a role in the top six under certain situations. Two young offensive players might need a defence first player on their line. Temporary injury fill in. He's smart, he'll do what the coach asks him to do.
  18. Gaunce has value. He ( in a pinch ) could be a complimentary player on a 2nd line. He could be a valued element in a good 3rd line. He could be a driver on an A+ 4th line. Please don't take some stupid opinion from Ho's Fat Head and treat it as fact or a relevant opinion.
  19. I would have been a terrible GM ! Had a conversation with a friend, back in '94, and said that I would have done a one for one swap, Forsberg for Lindros. Quebec did well. Lindros and the Lindros family were to be avoided at all costs.
  20. Okay @DADDYROCK, let's see if you were paying attention during that time. Why is the 'stutter' relevant to this song. ( As it is in 'Benny and the Jets', but not in 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet' )
  21. In my world, 'groot' means great/ big. Not the worst nickname.
  22. Always thought that Chubarov was coming back. I think his new Audi sat for a very long time in the Canuck parking lot. ( 3 years ? ) Edit: I see this is covered in @aGENT's link !
  23. We have had a handful of good/ great Russians. Larionov, Chubarov, Bure. We have been burned by Koltsov, Tryamkin, Nedved (....not a Russian, but acted like a Russian ). Then there were all those Russians drafted by us. ( Nonis ? ) I don't think that more than a very small handful even attended training camps. Still think we'll take Svechnikov if we pick #2 ! ( lol.......sigh )
  24. Agree. I was at a home game when Vey played for LA. He had one superb shift. I remember noting his name for the first time and was not unhappy when we traded for him. We had LV at his lowest. The stars were not lined up in anyone's favour. I'd be happy to see him back in the NHL. Our current forward depth, prospect wise, means not with us. If he did return here, it would be day of emotional gnashing of teeth on CDC. It would be a fun day !
