Don't know what JB has in mind for Brassard, but the Eliot signing makes me think that his chance of an ELC is less than 50/ 50 !

Comets come back from 3 goals down to win in O/T. -
Plus.....in Utica, Sautner, McEneny, Chatfield and Kero, and in junior, Eliot.
-
Think we have 6 undrafted players on our 23 man roster !

Could not disagree more ! AG must return to Utica if the 'nucks are out of the post season race ! Look how much he soaked up during his recent stint there. Being part of a Utica playoff run is exactly what he should be involved in !

....or perhaps no proof at all. JB may have been working on this an hour after Demko was out of action. Great when assumptions become facts.

Can't work out how the Canucks view Leighton. The amount they're playing him makes it seem as if they like what they see. He is rising to every challenge. Kulbakov was playing fairly well. He seems to have ups and downs, but didn't do too badly. You'd think that the 2 goalies would alternate, but Leighton has 3 of the last 4 ( going on memory ). Would not be surprised if he's offered an AHL contract.( I think that a NHL contract would mean he has to pass through waivers ? ) -
Total rubbish. Sounds like 5th hand information from HF boards. Facts are JB was transparent 2014/ 15/ 16. It ended there. In 2014 it didn't matter. The 'big 5' were just that. We picked 6th. No need to fool anyone. If anyone in the top 5 picked off the board we could take whoever dropped down. ( they didn't.....thank goodness. We would have had dal Colle ! ) In 2015, our pick was in the 20s. No-one cared about our wish list. Too much happens before you get to pick #23 ! In 2016 JB got burned. Dubois was our guy. JB let everyone know. Don't think it changed anyone's pick, but the optics were bad, In 2017....JB never mentioned Pettersson. It was Glass, Mittelstadt, Vilardi etc.. Never Pettersson. in 2018, I have no idea who JB was expecting to be available. He talked about Bouchard, Kotkaniemi, Dobson iirc. Don't think he gave anything away. Now that the team is in a mini slump, the JB bashers are starting to pound their chests and howl at the moon !

Any updates on Demko ? Earlier reports talked of 17th Feb being a realistic return date.

MDiP back to juniors. AM650.

Have not seen too much of Lockwood this season. Hi-lite stuff only. The question at the start his season was, could he cut back on his kamikaze defensive style and stay healthy ? He's done well, health wise. Has he, in fact, toned things down in that area ? Has it affected his overall game or is he still flying around hitting everything in sight ?

New goalie acquired ! Edit: Mazanec

Not too sure who you would have started. JB backed himself into a corner when he delayed on replacing McKenna, but last night was not part of any plan. Bachman, Demko injured and McKenna on a fake conditioning stint. Markstrom was pencilled in to start every game till Demko/ McKenna came back. When Markstrom couldn't go, who was meant to start ?

Was surprised ( shouldn't have been ! ) how much extra net the shooters had with a 6ft goalie compared to our usual 6ft 6 version !

Anyone with any Tyler Madden news ?............anyone...........anything !

The veterans have been bolstered. Domino effect, now the rookies have less pressure on them. Just Kero to start, add Gaunce, add Pyatt and lately Schenn. Huge difference ! -

Good to see Utica beating their top rivals. Was very interested in the fact that Leighton started in back to back games, especially as this is a three games over three days weekend for the Comets. Kulbakov will probably play today ( noon PST ). Canucks have to get another NHL goalie under contract. The DiPietro situation has to end. My guess that it's either Leighton or McKenna. Didn't get to see the LVP game, but reports indicate that Leighton was the better of the two. I think Leighton will soon have a NHL deal ! The Flyers are +/- 2days away from having to waive McKenna or keep him on their NHL roster. -
I can't speak for @mll, but I'm 100% over the top pro JB and everything Canuck. When I question something, it means a great deal of positivity has been passed by. You're not talking to one of CDC's negative ninjas. It takes a lot for me to be critical of anything Canuck related. So....no........I won't shut it !

Strange that they 'fudged' the truth on this. Being concussion related seemed to be the logical cause. Why skirt around that fact ?

It is a 'conditioning' stint ! 14 days, starting 30th Jan..Don't know the loophole that Phillie used, but he was not injured and had recently played a game. -
For a guy that is right all the time, it would be nice if you could spell Stecher correctly !

I remember rushing to watch one of those rare Utica TV broadcasts ( must have been playing the Marlies ! ) Had many young prospects that I wanted to get a look at. The two d-men on my 'list' were Andersson and Tommernes. They were good-ish, but Biega was way better. Was a little annoyed as I viewed Biega as an AHL only signing. PS.......one other player was superb in that game.......Alex Friesen. Some make it, some don't !

Michael Leighton starting in goal for Utica tonight. Maybe a good game gets a NHL contract. Edit: McKenna starting for LVP. -
I was, many years ago, involved in analytics in the business world, mainly insurance and agriculture. When basing big money decisions on analytics, you want as few variables as possible. Hockey analytics can point to a trend and do have a modicum of value, but there are way too many variables to be taken seriously.
