  1. I see Gadjovich and Virtanen as interchangable and depending on who maxes out higher is a better first line winger. I am not judging 'what' virtanen is until he's 24/25. If he can be a 40 pt winger and hit, intimidate, drive the net, with his speed on the first line he's all we need. Gadjovich needs to improve his speed for sure and while Boeser is improving there, he'll never be a burner. You need someone to get in on the forecheck and do the dirty work to get Petterson the puck, who then feeds Brock in his spots to score. Much of the reason Babcock loves Hyman on the first line is because he is fast and does all the hard / dirty work to get Matthews and Nyalnder the puck. Much as Burr did for the twins, i just think irrespective of where Virtanen ends up points wise, with his speed he can be exactly what "that" first line needs to be incredibly effective, and he only needs to work hard to be that player already.
  2. True! and forgot Granlund as well!
  3. That would be one hell of a third line (Kesler /Burr mold) but I'd rather see this Assuming (which is unlikely) all our recent picks develop as we expect (totally unrealistic but play along), here's the lines I would love to see down the road Virtanen Petterson Boeser (assuming and big assumption that Virt can become a top 6 winger but his speed and hitting would help this line)- Speed/grit/elite playmaker with an elite scorer and Virt can finish too. Baer Bo Goldobin (nothing needs to be said, just hope Goldy can show he can do it, or Lind) Gadjovich Gaudette Lind (capable of being a 2nd line of most teams if they show they can play to their ceilings) Gaunce Dowd McEwan/Labate (grit, checking, shutdown line, annoying to play against, and McEwan/Labate can intimidate)
  4. There is  a MAJOR difference in quality from Hagen Daaz and other ice creams. My supermarket didn't have chocolate HG for some odd reason, and hasn't for months - disappointed with alternatives :(

Chapman's No Sugar Added Dutch Chocolate.

Not much choice when you have type II diabetes.

Maybe Haagen-Daz dark chocolate ice bars?

Chapman's ice cream is also gluten free. It's the best ice cream on the market!

Eww not a fan of Chapman’s!

  5. I changed them (typos) you quoted before i updated it
  6. Updated, yes you're right, typo on the soph year. That being said, Gaudette was hurt in his soph year as well , that was the point, so if you look at their numbers AGAIN, if you look at the soph years on they are comparable - point is, Sigh, i hate having to explain things over - it seems many on this site don't actually READ the post...they are comparable ENOUGH, to suggest Guadette is not a 3/4th liner
  7. As a side note here's Brocks PPG in college vs Gaudette - one year difference in term of when Gaudette emerged but.....He ain't no 4th liner! Both injured in their second year but Guadette putting up better numbers by far in year 2, and continued the same in year 3 - This kid has first line potential and like he said rookie camp, he might have something to say about Petterson being the future 1c. Irrespective of 'were he plays' - if he proves he can play at the NHL level, having Bo/Pettersen/Gaudette/ Gaunce or Dowd down the middle looks good to me! Been a fan for 30 years, I don't think I've ever seen a Canucks future so strong down the middle - a key part of winning a cup. We have the goalie in Demko, bring back Tryamkin and find that 1d and we're looking very good for a number of runs starting in 2-3 years.
  8. Exactly ....and funny how draft position can set realistic or unrealistic expectations for player. Granted the higher you are drafted 'should' suggest you have a higher ceiling but it doesn't dictate the time your development will take - it simply makes fans impatient. The fans will be happy if this kid is a hard working 4th line C at his max because he was a 5th round pick, if he takes 3 more years to get there no one will care (and he'll be 24). But, no one can give Jake or Goldy till they're 24 to show what they are, or Hutton more time to work out the inconsistencies in his game (BTW the great Al Abour once said, it takes about 300 games in the NHL to know what kind of player you have- I go with Al over CDC). Great point
  9. Leading the NCAA in scoring is no small feat -he will be up for the Hobey Baker, and the players who have done both of those things and made the NHL tend to have been pretty good players!
  10. He played a great game tonight and showed aspects we haven't seen from him - hitting, a good fight, kept his game simple etc. He's a big kid who can skate, and move the puck. While he's regressed offensively, way to early to give up on him. Sitting out clearly woke him up a bit, hopefully he brings this balanced play every night and gets back on the path he was on. I think alot of our young guys have become complacent because of the injuries and feel safe in their spots. Green sitting guys out wakes these kids up and makes them realize, no you aren't 10 yr vets. Jake and Goldy seem to have become complacent as well. Loved his game tonight, hopefully it continues
  11. Very similar skill set and game as Kesler had as a draftee, ceiling was seen as at best a 3c but a very good shut down, agitator, with size and speed who can chip in. Well Kesler's drive made him a great 2c and a Selke winner and Gaudette (at least from what I've seen and saw with Kesler) is further ahead on the skill advancement side. Time will tell his ceiling but to get a 5th rounder who now looks like he could push to be a great 2 way 2c is a hell of a steal! (if he makes it long term of course)
