[Signing] Kings sign Tyler Madden
Kanukfanatic replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Congrats to Madden. Happy we got Toffoli...happier if he can be resigned. If Toffoli cannot be resigned, and he does not play any more games this year because of the worst pandemic in 100 years, some people will use hindsight to say it was a bad trade. And to those people I say...I hope you get covid-19... Kidding of course... -
I will join the riot via skype. Social distancing and all.

Totally agree. And I can already see what is going to happen. We in BC will stay home (not me...I have to work) for the most part and the curve hopefully gets in control. Then in about three weeks people will start whining and saying they dont think they need to stay home any longer and they will start to get back to normal life. At that point, the second infection wave will hit.
-
Not for another 8 weeks at least it appears. We are just getting started. https://globalnews.ca/news/6695737/coronavirus-canadians-social-distancing/ https://nationalpost.com/health/could-the-covid-19-crisis-mean-well-be-social-distancing-for-eight-months-or-more https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/technology/science/article-when-does-social-distancing-end-these-graphs-show-where-were-heading/

Most uninformed post of the thread. Bravo.
-
You apparently are uninformed about gun ownership in Canada. If you have a possession and acquisition license for non-restricted and restricted firearms, you can purchase as many as you want. Most Canadians think we cannot.

We got my wife a 2018 crosstrek and she loves it so much my son bought a 2015 crosstrek. Good choice!!

1. thankful no one in my family has died yet. 2. look forward to not watching constant covid updates. 3. took for granted the routine.... 4. ...not sure....my intense fanaticism as a Canuck fan lol. 5. not sure I would change anything....but I am set in my ways lol. I already had a very good earthquake kit setup before this. Lots of food and water for if this goes bad. When this is all done, I will add nitrile gloves, masks, and antiseptic to my updated kit lol. I read that pandemics can occur every 5 to 50 years. I feel better having that kit as I have young adult children and feel great knowing they can always come home if shtf as I can take care of them all without them having to worry about this kind of crap.

Let us agree to disagree on the whole emergency funds for ART thing. I will say though, that I hope you and your entire family get through this covid pandemic without any deaths.....as I do for everyone in this board!
-
I dont care how much it is. ART simply should not be given any of that aid package in the worst pandemic in the last 100 years. Get the funds to real people and business's to get the economy going. No one gives a crap about ART at the moment (well...maybe 7 people do). This should not be difficult to understand. Anyway, I won't respond further. Citizens deserve water and food right now and help paying bills. Thanks for the input though.
-
I see your and double it ! No thanks to emergency ART funding lol. Edit: instead of ART funding, funnel it all to nurses!! Something that actually matters!!
-
OMG Ok...I was so wrong. You starting to play the guitar and sing will totally solve this pandemic that is the worst one in 100 years!! Uh...yeah...no thanks. No emergency funding for art is needed. Edit: you can sing Amazing Grace at the possible 150,000 Canadian deaths that WILL occur (on the low side; the max will be around 800,000 deaths).
-
There are not enough tests for that to occur. They won't even test me before I go back to work in a couple days as an emergency services worker. They say the 14 day self isolation is enough. It is ALL about the lack of tests.
-
I have no interest in all my tax dollars going out to support art at this time in history. Just my opinion. Society can live without art. Cannot live without water or food. Edit: that is a very confused face you have. Please explain why art and galleries should get any money right now when people simply need to get water and food to live. Are you an Art Major?
-
It is in the NY post as well. Who knows what is totally true though lol. Sigh...
-
Thanks. Will let my wife know. She has been watching way too much news on this which, imo, doesn't help much.
-
They gave a bit of a situation update this morning but they were supposed to update the numbers at 3pm like every other weekday... ...well that is what I have been told by my wife. I won't argue with her as we have been locked up in this house for two weeks already.
-
Agreed. He has performed very well and I am quite surprised, but happy about it. I am, like another poster stated, was not a supporter of Trudeau's. I believe he has performed quite well though. I think he could have moved a bit quicker but that is easy to say in hindsight. We shall see how well things are going in the next 10-14 days though.
-
Aaahh, my bad. I guess Canada is just sending those with symptoms to airport hotels to isolate them rather than everyone. Is that correct?
-
Good to see them doing what Canada is already doing.

I ask this in all sincerity, are there any Trump supporter Americans reading this post and if so, do you actually believe the covid19 threat is not a big deal as stated in the story? I am trying to understand the rationale for that point of view.

Bullsh&% Never happened.

So just thinking about the numbers we have heard about: Canada population = 38 million Contagion rate is supposedly 30% to 70% of the population by the time this is done. 30% = 11.4 million Canadians infected 70% = 26.6 million Canadians infected Possible mortality rate = 1% to 3% So for the 30% spread rate: 1% mortality rate = 114,000 dead in Canada 3% mortality rate = 342,000 dead in Canada For the 70% spread rate: 1% mortality rate = 266,000 dead in Canada 3% mortality rate = 798,000 dead in Canada So there is a possibility Canada will have 114,000 to 798,000 dead from Covid19 * from https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-age-sex-demographics/ Mostly people from 60 and up will get hit the worst by far....well mostly 70 and up. Canada population by demographic: So Canada has about 7,000,000 people aged 65 and over in Canada. ...and we may have 114k to 798k deaths with the VAST majority of those deaths being persons 70 years of age and older. Scary numbers and I fear for my mother and father in law. But the numbers reassure me for my son and daughter. I am not trying to give any specific narrative here other than trying to understand who the fatal cases will be. One weird part here is that some young and healthy people are dying and the WHO does not know why yet. I watched one virologist who stated sometimes a specific part of a persons DNA can make them more susceptible to a virus even though they are healthy. That part is speculation at this point... OK...I have thought about this way too much.

Huh? It has existed for hundreds of years. Point of no return...give me a break. If will exist after this. Maybe changed a bit....but it will recover just like everyone will recover.
