Oh god...here we go again. The "loui is gonna walk away from 13 million (or 9 after July 1st) dollars" narrative. Haha..won't happen but keeping saying it

[Rumor] Panarin Interested in Vancouver

Then go: Panarin Petey Ferland (or equivalent) Pearson Horvat Boeser Two great lines if Pearson's chemistry with Bo is real. -
[Speculation] Lucic says he would like to play here
Kanukfanatic replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Good point. We kinda glossed over that in the conversation so far. A lot of posters probably think he would waive just because of him going and telling the media he doesn't feel the coach trusts him here. Who knows if he would waive. -

[Speculation] Lucic says he would like to play here
Kanukfanatic replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If Lucic waives his NMC for a deal and it stays waived for the team picking him up, I doubt there will be much of a sweetner in a deal for Loui. Two older declining players with different skill sets and similar contracts except for the one extra year for Lucic. Loui - can still skate a bit and is good defensively (and good at the little things ) Lucic - a big physical presence that is also good in front of the opposing net; at this point a 3rd or 4th liner same as Loui I think that IF a Canuck / Oiler swap does take place, that at max the Canucks get a 4th round pick or so to make up for the extra year - I was thinking a 3rd but those picks sometimes turn out and might be a bit high. If Pulju is worth about a 3rd now (I saw that either on here or another site) then maybe the Canucks could get Lucic and Pulju for Loui and a 4th. Although, normally teams don't want to trade former high picks in their own division in case it makes them look bad.....or maybe I just think that is true lol. What do you all think? Edit: I just saw the post about the NMC following the player. Can't a player still waive a NMC if they agree to it as part of their contract? I am pretty sure the answer is Yes. Just because Lucic would waive the clause to come to Vancouver in a Loui swap the NMC is still intact. However, if a player chooses to waive a NMC in a contract they can do that. So maybe the Canucks would just have to agree with Lucic that for the expansion a NMC would not protect him. It should be like any other part of a contract. If both parties agree to cancel the clause it is cancelled. Just my 2 cents. -
[Speculation] Canucks all in for Jason Zucker
Kanukfanatic replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Would we even care by then? So much changes in four years. -
I was just reading the jets thread and posters there think Myers is actually a half decent 2nd pairing D. Because of their cap they don't want to pay him more than 4million for 4 years. But they think he will get 6 x 6 in UFA. Just fyi. Edit: and yes....6 million per for a 2nd pairing D is very expensive.

Did you pop any of the bubble wrap on him??

[Rumour] Jets shopping Jacob Trouba
Kanukfanatic replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Huh? Trouba is a proven 1st pairing D. Hughes has played 5 games. Tryamkin is a 3rd pairing. OJ has never played in the NHL. Woo is in junior. good god your analysis is crap lol -
2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
Kanukfanatic replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
horrible way to post a list -
Agreed. I am not sure why some posters like to pull the old PWF take longer narrative. It has been shown again and again to be false.

[Speculation] Canucks all in for Jason Zucker
Kanukfanatic replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Lol. I have told my kids since they were born, when they ask a question, to google it. That is why your response was pretty funny to me. I still don't see what you do in that quote. But that is fine. lol -
[Speculation] Canucks all in for Jason Zucker
Kanukfanatic replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
That is all speculation. He did not say he has a plan to move down. Haha.....no narrative here folks. Not a real one anyway. Tell you what....I will bet you $50 that Benning DOES NOT MOVE DOWN. You in? -

Source? I googled it and this is what I found - says he won't look to move up. Does not say he will move down. Jim Benning reportedly won’t look to move up from No. 10 at the draft JUNE 5, 2019, 10:41 AM | CAM LEWIS It would have been nice if the Hughes brothers could have been a thing in Vancouver, but I think we’ve all accepted that it isn’t happening. Beyond the obvious reality that Jim Benning won’t be paying what would be an astronomical price to acquire the New Jersey Devils’ No. 1 overall pick, Ben Kuzma of The Province reports that Benning isn’t planning to move up from No. 10 overall in any capacity. As Stephen Roget explored a few weeks ago, the cost to move up in the draft would be fairly substantial. Even sliding up from No. 10 to one of the other picks in the top-10 would easily cost the Canucks their second-round pick. As Benning said, the draft is deep enough and the quality of players available to the Canucks at No. 10 make it not worthwhile to sell off their quantity at the draft. Last year, there were some surprises in the draft, as the Montreal Canadiens selected Jesperi Kotkaniemi with the third-overall pick and the Coyotes took Barrett Hayton with the fifth-overall pick. As a result, the Red Wings snagged Filip Zadina, who was widely considered the third best player in the draft at No. 6. That also left the Canucks with a great pick at No. 7, Quinn Hughes. After the top two prospects, Jack Hughes and Kappo Kakko, the draft is a bit of crapshoot. As Jeremy Davis’ most recent consolidated rankings show, players like Vasali Podkolzin are ranked as high as No. 2 and as low as No. 17 in the draft. Given the expected randomness and the depth of this draft, the Canucks are best just to sit still and let the best player available fall into their lap. -
So a very successful summer for JB would be something like this: - sign Panarin UFA - trade for Kapanen / Zaitsev - Tanev at 50% and goldy (or some other minor asset) - trade for Zucker - Virtanen (although I like the kid) - trade for Trouba if he would sign long term with Vancouver - 10th overall + player + prospect (not sure what it would take) - sign Edler no NMC - clear out some of our bottom 6 players and d Panarin - Petey - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Kapanen Edler Trouba Hughes Zaitsev OJ Stecher (by mid season - trade Hutton) Schenn Marky Demko Easy peezy Oops: traded for Kapanen and Zucker lol.......would only need/want one of them.

Draft pod too lol.

...and invite Panarin here lol.

As much as I hate the poisonous posters at hfcanucks....the one thing I like is the general off season summer thread where posters can chat about all things Canucks including ufa ideas, trades, the draft, etc. So I started this thread for that. MODS let me know if you don't feel that works here. I can start. JB needs top 6 forwards and top 4 D. We have chatted about trades for Zucker, Kapanen, Panarin, Lee, and others in numerous other threads. That doesn't include D ideas like trading for Trouba or Zaitsev. Drafting Broberg. Getting a UFA like Karlsson or Myers. Would be easy for us to discuss in one overall thread where you can talk about trades, UFAs, or draft picks. MODS: if you disagree this thread doesn't fit then do what you need to. Thanks!!

Agree to disagree Alf. He was 3rd pairing before and as others have said probably has not developed much in the khl. Will be a 3rd pairing now. Which is fine...he is big and strong. Nothing more than 3rd pairing in all likelihood.
