  1. In one of my mock line ups, I had... Gadj EP Boeser
  2. We need more of these type of players. To get those greasy goals.
  3. Awhile back I posted that my wife co-worker got Covid-19 in March. He was in the ICU, recovered and sent home with an oxygen tank. At home, he was exhausted and bed ridden. After many months, he's back at work. Luckily no long term problems (so far). Before Covid-19 he was slightly chubby. Now he's so skinny. He lost alot of weight (about 20lbs at least).
  4. I'm guessing people who didn't get vaxxed want BC to be like Alberta where their provincial healthcare is on the verge of collapsing cuz the ICU are at max capacity. That the nearly 100% of ICU patients are unvaxxed.
  5. How's Horvat line doing? Pearson-Horvat-Chiasson I thought Garland would be on Horvat line but I guess he's on Miller's line. Poor Horvat never getting a top 6 forward.
  6. I might consider it if BUF retains $2-3M on Eichel. That would be in line with an internal cap structure (if VAN has any). Plus a pick or prospect since Eichel failed his physical and Vancouver is taking all the risk (Eichel surgery).
  7. Any 1st nowadays are usually lottery protected. But yeah Larsson is probably a no go. But he would be sweet to get and at the cap hit too.
  8. Who knows? I mean some posters even thought EP and QH would have signed before training camp. Maybe Seattle plan of grabbing tons of picks through the expansion draft backfired. And now they are looking to make real hockey trades to get draft picks. But getting Larsson would require him waiving his NTC and would cost Canucks at least a 1st + roster player + top prospect.
  9. Would rather swing for the fences and get Larsson (somehow) if we are trading with Seattle.
  10. This is especially true for the Canucks since Green wants to activate the D and join the rush all the time.
  11. “Movassaghi did not have sufficient lawful income to acquire the down payment to purchase the property or service the debt,” the government alleges. This is why they think the condo is a proceeds of crime. The condo is $3M. He paid $1M as a downpayment. So it begs the question...how did he earn the $1M.
  12. I hope EP and QH signs soon. Motte and Sutter are on IR. I think Hamonic opts out or retires. Hope Woo can make it if Hamonic is out. To keep cap down. And I don't know who else to get via UFA or a cheap trade. So I would like something like this... Gadj EP Boeser Pearson Bo Hoglander Garland Miller Podz Highmore Dickinson Chaisson McKwean (or Lockwood) OEL Meyers QH Poolman OJ Schenn Rathbone Woo (supposedly a good tandem last year) Demko Halak Bleh...the D doesn't look that hot. But who knows. Maybe the rookies will surprise us all.
  13. Why not keep 8 D men on the roster? And 13 forwards plus 2 goalies. That's still 23 full roster. I'm for load management. Especially D men who tend to log big minutes compared to forwards.
  14. Rathbone excelled in pre-season. Trade QH to NJ for a kings ransom.
  15. EP & QH: JB, we like the contracts you offered but it needs something more. JB: OK. How about we sign after pre-season so you can skip Greens bag skates. EP & QH: Deal!!!!
  16. Rathbone looked good in the highlights. Might ease the pain if QH contract drags on.
  17. It would be great to keep Miller. I would think he'd be in the $6.5-$7.5M range. So about $2M raise or so.
  18. Yes. I can see that as well. Plus Klimovich and Woo (and possibly many other prospects) seems to be close and ready to make the jump in a few years.
  19. Looking at capfriendly... Note: not bothering with Ferland contract as Canucks seem to be maxing cap and utilizing LTIR. So for basic math, just not including in my calculations. 2022-23 Luongo cap penalty comes off. $3M that can be used to give Boeser a raise. 2023-24 Buyouts gone and Hamonic contract expires. That's $5.4M to give raises to Bo and Miller. Would need a cheap ELC on RHD to slot in and a slight increase to the salary cap. 2024-24 Pearson and Dickinson contracts runs out. That's $5.9M available for raises and depth signings. Edit: forgot Hoglander is due for a raise in 2023-24. So it might be tight if salary cap doesn't go up at all.
  20. Unfortunately it's pts that matters. Even though I'd agree Bo is the more complete player. I'd imagine Bo and Boeser getting about $8M on their next contracts. Means the Canucks needs to shed cap elsewhere to accommodate. Miller and Myers are the obvious candidates. OEL is possible if he regains his form and maybe retain $1M. I'm sure teams would like a 40pt Dman at $6M.
  21. OEL last 5 years pt totals = 39, 42, 44, 30, 24. I think (hope) his numbers will improve on the Canucks. That should lessen the blow if QH is still not signed when the season starts. I don't think OEL was worse defensively than QH, so Canucks would be fine for awhile without QH. Miller can slot in as #1C. He did OK last year when EP was out with injury. And Miller does the face off anyways. Canucks are still a decent team with all the transactions made in the offseason. Not a lock for the playoffs though if EP and QH remain unsigned.
  22. Get EP signed $9M x 8yrs. Canucks don't have a #1C to fill the void (from prospects). Miller can slot in nicely but center depth is sorta weak. Sign QH to a bridge contract. $7M x3 yrs. Dahlin contract set the ballpark. He signs or sit him. Canucks can hope OEL regains form and Rathbone to step up. Edit: I'm fine if Canucks sitting both down until an offer is acceptable to the Canucks. Can't blow up internal cap structure. It's a team game and needs a team to win. And only so much money to go around.
  23. Zoom classes for the unvaccinated children. Solves the problems.
