  1. If possible, I would offer EP $9M x 8yr and QH $8M x 8yr. Then run a 21 man roster to be cap compliant. But better if they'd accept less $$ . Then next year...pray the cap goes up next year as forecasted ($1M). Then trade Miller and Myers cuz we would need cap space to re-sign Boeser and Bo.
  2. From the Carolinas perspective, would their 1st and 3rd be better than what JK is right now? Thus they probably think JK is the better bet than the picks they gave up. MTL probably didn't want to lose JK but that cap hit is bad for any internal cap structure. Also they probably want room for Suzuki's deal next year.
  3. Dunno. Was thinking future replacement for Sutter and getting a 2nd.
  4. OTT is shopping rookie Logan Brown. A young big (6'6") centre. But it looks like he couldn't crack the NHL yet. And threaten to play in Sweden if not traded. Drafted in the same year as OJ. So maybe OJ for Brown + 2nd?
  5. Dog days of September. So rumor of Arizona wanting 2 x 1sts for Chychrun (that was quashed but fun to speculate) A 3 way trade of... NJ = Hughes VAN = Holtz + Chychrun + NJ 2nd ARI = 2 x 1sts (Van + NJ ... lottery protected). Lol. And yeah...I'm probably wrong on the values of each player.
  6. I think EP gets the most this year. Selfishly, I want BB to just get 25-35g this year. To being his cap hit a bit lower. Then sign to a multi year deal aav $7.5-8M. Then explodes the following years getting 40+g.
  7. I think it's the lure of next years franchise C Wright and the following year of 2 generational talents in Bedard and that Russian forward. They are expected to jump right into the NHL.
  8. If Ottawa wasn't so cheap, I'd worry about an offersheet from them. They could easily offer BT $9M and offersheet EP $10M.
  9. It's the magnetic field generated from the vaccine shots. I hear it interferes with cell phones. Lol.
  10. They'll be the first ones crying in the ICU and saying they should have gotten the vaccine.
  11. The goalies body language tells it all. She knew it was in.
  12. Don't think Lou is done yet. I think they might be over the cap (according to Capfriendly). Unless I'm reading it wrong, they might have to trade a player out.
  13. If MTL matches, they will be just as vulnerable next year when both JK and Suzuki becomes RFA. Unless they are able to re-sign them asap. But even then, it'll be a tight cap hit that will force some players to be traded out.
  14. You get the core (which I think he's done) through the draft and the rest through a combination of draft/trades/UFA. So far, on paper, the team looks promising next season.
  15. They made changes to the draft lottery to combat tanking. A team cannot win the lottery more than twice in a five-year period. (Lottery wins prior to the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery are not applied towards this total.)
  16. Good comparable. In 3 seasons... Svech got 30s, 60s, 40s points EP got 60s, 60s, 20s points I'm crossing fingers and toes it'll be $8x8yr. Lol.
  17. Exactly why I would want an overpayment from NJ. QH is a young proven point getter (in 2 seasons). The NJ top prospects (Holtz/Boqvist) are just that...prospects. They can boom or bust. And even if they make it to the NHL, they may not have the same impact as QH.
  18. Yep. QH is already a 50+ pt D. He's the best player in any trade deal. Maybe something like this would make me consider a trade... QH + Hamonic For Smith + Severson + Holtz + Boqvist + 1st 2022 NJ gets the best player and his partner. VAN gets cap space via ELC on Smith and a young better RHD in Severson. Plus top tier prospects to keep the cupboards full. Would only do this is if the belief that OEL will return to form.
  19. Not concerned at all. BB will be resigned. BB current cap hit is $5.875. His QO will be $7.5 (cuz he's grandfathered under the old QO terms). Predicting he is a 30+ goal scorer, I'm guessing his range will be $7.5-8.5. If however, he performs above expectations (say 40+ goals), then it might creep up to $9. So let's just say it's $8.5M. That's a difference of $2.625M from his current cap. Right now we have wasted cap space from the buyouts and Luongo recapture penalty for about $3.5M. However next year the buyout penalty is $2.4M. So that's $1M right there that can go to BB. Also the cap supposedly goes up next year by $1M. So we just need to find $0.625M from the roster. Bring up DiPietro and let go Halak next year and we just make it under the cap. The real tough one will be the 2023-24 season when Miller and Bo contracts are up. Most likely will have to let Miller go in order to pay Bo.
