  1. I was wanting DiPietro as backup last year. Trial by fire. And use the cap money to sign Toffoli. But oh well.
  2. TO gonna blame Vancouver for claiming their depth (Vesey and Boyd?) from the waivers. Lol.
  3. If Green decides to have Miller at a centre, l would not mind RNH slotting in as LW in the top 6. $5M x 5yr.
  4. Really? I'm not too sure about this draft. The chance of a #1RHD doesn't come by often. And it's a position Canucks desperately need. Jones fits the age range of our young core. I wouldn't want Jones if he's asking for $10M though. That would wreck our salary cap.
  5. Wait until June 2nd and see how the draft lottery drops. If it's 1st OV, then I would hope 1st 2021 + Schmidt + Lind would be enough. This is provided that Jones would sign an extension. Hopefully $8M x 8yr.
  6. If Canucks miss the PO, then my wife is happy so I'm happy. If the Canucks make the PO, then I'm happy. Win win. Honestly, would rather build a perennial contender via good drafting. Keeps salary cap down by introducing good cheap ELC prospects into the line up. Add TDL acquisition to go deep and costs of 2nd or 3rds (don't touch 1sts). Trade out vets when priced out of internal cap structure. But that is just my opinion. In any case, I'm patient enough. Just wish they fix the PP. So annoying seeing them trying to set up the perfect play.
  7. They could have retained 50% for both. So it would have been $7M for 2 top 6 guys. I would think one team would have tried to make that work. Might have required Canucks also take on a temporary bad contract to clear up the cap space.
  8. I would never criticize someone for putting family first over a job. Sometimes it's a family decision.
  9. I can see DET or LA doing that trade for #1 OV. We slide down to 5th or 6th spot but also free up cap space. Not sure if JB would do that considering Canucks never drafted #1 overall. And yeah...we had the pick in the past but traded it to ATL to get the Sedins.
  10. Lol. Are the Flames rebuilding now? If so, then money to Marky and Tanev seems kinda stupid.
  11. I would honestly do this trade. It might mean missing the playoffs next year but it is a trade with an eye to the long term game. Not sure if BUF would just outright give up a top 5 pick without getting a low 1st in return. Unless you are thinking a 2022 1st.
  12. I'd go Kapanen + Marino cuz they younger and play RW / RHD. Not sure if those additions would increase the chances of VAN making the playoffs next year (as JB mentioned). At best, it would be even. But seems funny for all that to upgrade to a 1st in 2022. But I see the potential of that conditional 1st as a possible way to get more chances at Bedard in 2023. Lol.
  13. If BUF can stomach another rebuild. That would be the best approach. Ditto on clearing out management. Start all fresh. Grab as much 1st (especially 2023) and 2nd in the next 2-3 years to speed up the rebuild. Get B prospects (from trading other vets) as well to add depth to the organization.
  14. Lol. Reminds me of a Casey Printers quote "I had to make chicken salad out of chicken $&!#".
  15. Stop making sense. Cuz it's clearly JB and Green's fault. Also some of the assistant coaches. Fire them all ... except Ian Clark. Lol.
