  1. Connor Bedard draft year (2023) is the time to move up to 1st. Not this year.
  2. I think LA or DET will select Wallstedt. Both teams seem to be in a rebuilding stage and are need of a top stud goalie prospect to grow with their young core. So Canucks should be able to get a good BPA prospect that slipped down to us (like Hughes and Poz). That is if we don't win the draft lottery.
  3. Depends if JB is a betting man. If they are 100% wanting to get rid of JV by buying out. Or whatever % to possibly terminate the contract.
  4. Yep. Take a look at the Pacific Division. Who's the competition? EDM CAL VAN SEA LA SJ ANA AZ At worst, we'd be 4th on that list.
  5. Only reason to do that is if JB is targeting a specific UFA and needs the cap space. Personally, I wouldn't and just ride out LE contract. Just 1 more year and be free of all the bad contracts. This team was able to go deep in the bubble year. I can't believe that it was solely based on Marky, Tanev, Stecher, and Toffoli. This season was a disaster with a compressed schedule, no training camp, no practices, and the whole team got Covid-19. So it's a mulligan. I expect a rebound to make the wild card spot (or just missing it) next year.
  6. Rarely is anyone the same after surgery. He was basically a PPG player the last few seasons. I would expect a dip in performance. Cuz he can't exactly train after surgery (out of game shape) and probably not worth a $10M price tag anymore. Also you'd basically lose him for 1 season while he recovers. So no to Eichel.
  7. Yep. He's on average a 20+g and 60+ pts. He's not a game breaker. So $7M is a reasonable salary. Now it's a flat cap for a few more years. At most a $6M-6.5M per year.
  8. I'd rather not hand out 6yr contracts like candy. Don't want another LE situation. Maybe $5.5 -$6M x 4yr.
  9. Yep. It would take some trades, buyouts, etc to make it all happen. And stunt the prospect depth pool for a few years. But with a forward group (and possible a good D core) like that should make the Canucks a playoff contender. Which is the goal of JB and FA. Short term gain for long term pain.
  10. I think RNH would be a better LW than C. RHN EP Boeser Pearson Bo Podz Hogz Miller Reinhart That's 3 solid scoring lines.
  11. Trading Bo to get Reinhart will not improve the team. We would be losing a top 6 forward to get a top 6 forward. So it's a lateral move. The goal is to gain. So trading futures (picks) and or potential (prospects) is the route to take if we want Reinhart.
  12. Sure it would. It would mean that I would buy more swag/merch and be on the waitlist for season tickets. Lol.
  13. My ideal offseason is... For me to win the Lotto Max!!!!
  14. Lol. That's why I'm having my coffee while posting.
  15. Offer sheets happens during free agency. Which means after the draft. So the picks would be next year 22/23. And it would basically mean an unprotected 1st. Unless I'm totally wrong on this.
  16. If JB is trading a 1st, it'll be after there are assurances that a long term contract is in place. The 6x6 special. Lol.
  17. In the past, I would have said JV. But now, I'm not sure he has the hockey IQ to PK and the willingness to block shots.
  18. So the key is to have forward PKs that are aggressive, fast, and a threat to score on a slight breakaway.
  19. It would probably be a slap in the face to Green if JB hired Clark before him. Just saying.
  20. Yeah. Blame JB for not knowing cap was going to be flat and Covid-19 pandemic was gonna happen.
  21. Judging by JB comments, unless the Canucks win the draft lottery, I think the 2021 1st (9-11th spot) is in play for trades. The first one that comes to mind is obviously Reinhart. BUF is a mess and many players want out. If they are doing a rebuild, better to send him out west. Might take a 1st + prospect + player to get Reinhart. JB apparently was high on Reinhart during his draft year and tried to move up to get him. So I can see him trying to get him if he's available. He primarily played RW but stepped up to C when Eichel went down. He would provide immediate help to the forward group.
