  1. Should have followed the Don Taylor rule... Bet against your favorite team. If your team wins...you win!! If your team loses...you win $$.
  2. Yes. There was a guy that amputated his leg due to clotting problems after contracting Covid-19. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.mercurynews.com/2020/04/20/actor-nick-cordero-has-leg-amputated-because-of-covid-19/amp/
  3. Yep. You should pick me everytime. Lol
  4. Depends on the formula used. When oil prices are up...then it'll be a loss for Private companies. When oil prices are down (like now)...then it'll be like a gain. Win some, lose some. Not attractive but it'll be steady revenue.
  5. No idea how to fix it. But would take strong leadership and make some Provinces unhappy. Feds would need to force the pipeline East and West. Have refineries set up various places to supply oil/gas to the Provinces. At the very least, Canada would get a steady supply without fear of any shortages and market corrections.
  6. This is how you know you are bored when you google a hockey player wife. I googled her too. Lol
  7. Probably too late but I wonder if it's worth trying to restart the NEP that was envisioned decades ago.
  8. I like that idea of spending the $$ on infrastructure. That goes to improving the area while also creating jobs.
  9. Probably because they are shortages of PPE? If you read it, headquarters acquired masks and thermometers. And are sending them out. Have you even tried getting lots of PPE? Without a source in place, it's pretty damn hard. Especially in the quantities they require.
  10. #Fakenews There is a very credible CDC poster here that stated in this thread that Trump was ahead of the curve for promoting Hydrocholoroquine and even posted credible links.
  11. I have young children and I can totally understand. I was never as sick this much in a year until I had kids.
  12. No way to a 15-30B bailout. So what the hell happens when SA and Russia does this again in 5 to 10 years? Another bailout?? AB will be a have not Province at this rate.
  13. China will help stabilize the region...with tanks, missiles, and soldiers.
  14. Psst.. you have a spelling error.
  15. Yeah. I know it's wishful thinking of closed borders for that length of time. When borders do re-open, they better do a damn good job screening people. Deny them entry if they have Covid-19 symptoms.
  16. The mentality of the states where the Covid-19 protesters are... "If I get sick, then I am going to bear the consequences of my getting sick," Lyons told CNN affiliate WTHR. "If anybody else gets sick, they bear the consequences of their free choice without government coercion to do so. That's what this is about."
  17. Keep the border with the USA closed for a year. I predict USA will get hit hard with the 2nd wave of Covid-19. USA will reach 1M infected with 50k dead by next week. And this is with social distancing in place. Back to work as they want will probably get closer to 10M infected and 500k dead.
  18. And the Darwin Awards goes to...
  19. Me...directly no. My wife however...YES. I posted about this in this thread a few weeks back. My wife is a manager. One of her employees in the office was positively diagnosed for Covid-19 (mid March I believe). My wife had to call her staff to not go into work. The few people that the employee came in contact with were told to self-monitor and self-isolate if required. She had to call building maintenance to have the entire floor of the building sanitized the next morning. She had to personally witness the sanitizing. Staff were also told not to come in the next following day while management proceeded to devise a suitable plan that safeguarded all their employees. They instituted a reduced hours scheduling while adhering to the social distancing guidelines and procured additional laptops (with more laptops on the way) for staff to work from home. I will tell you that my wife worked extremely long hours at the office and at home (6am - midnight) as she was basically doing her entire staff job by herself for several weeks. Only now...this week...has my wife not had to work until midnight. So thankfully some normalcy is returning.
  20. I am not a gun advocate but I'm not sure that such a database would be of any help. They currently have to take a PAL (I think that's what it is called), have written consent from spouse or significant other, and a police background check. The only other thing I can think of adding is a psychiatric test (if that is at all possible without infringing on the person's rights).
  21. As far as I know, the gun laws in Canada are quite strict and I want to keep it that way. I don't ever want to see a "Gun swap/buy convention" like in the USA and all you need is cash and no background check.
  22. What I have read (rumors) is that the guy's girlfriend/wife was cheating on him with a new boyfriend. And they are listed among the dead. So that can explain the motive. After killing them, he probably went on a killing spree (going down in a blaze of glory). Some comments suggested that the only way to stop this is arming good guys to protect themselves. I am willing to bet that prior to this supposed cheating that this guy was (from all appearances) a "good guy" who just lost it. I do not want Canada to go down the American road of having the loosey goosey gun laws.
  23. How the heck did he get a car resembling a police cruiser and a cop uniform??
  24. Renewable energy, retrofits touted as job-creating alternative to oil sector devastation https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5537310 Last week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $1.7 billion to clean up orphan oil wells, in a move that could create up to 5,000 jobs in Alberta alone. He also announced new money for methane reduction from the oil and gas industry, which will help Canada meet its international commitment to reduce methane emissions as well as fostering environmental innovation. Why is Canada cleaning up corporate messes in Alberta???
