  1. Sheesh. It's like the Canucks traded away 4 of their roster players instead of the Senators. Pathetic.
  2. Hope Green gave the team the Torts treatment. Bad starts are getting tiresome to watch.
  3. Edler will be UFA by the time expansion rolls around. We do not need to protect him.
  4. Considering that Baer passed through waivers and did not get picked up generally means no other team think he's worth the cap hit.
  5. Lol. Toronto with an AHL defense. Good luck making the playoffs.
  6. I think 1 year of no draft would suck for the fans but won't be detrimental to the team in the long run. Not every pick will play in the NHL. But the more picks you have increases the chances that you will get some players that can make it or at least provide depth on the AHL team. Because JB and Brackett have drafted well, Canucks have a cushion with up and coming prospects. They can afford to trade draft picks to shore up the problem areas. I just don't want to see the Canucks keep trading their 2nd round pick for rentals every year like they did in the past.
  7. True. Canucks can always do better. That can be said for any team. But looking at the shot count isn't really a good indicator. I would think a goalie doesn't really care about long range easy shots. It's more about limiting the good quality shots. Shots that are in the slot. Shots that are tipped. And when the goalie makes that first save, then the players get rid of any rebounds.
  8. I agree that Sutter will probably be shopped around this summer. He'll be good for a young rebuilding team or a team that wants a 3rd line center. To take away the hard defensive zone minutes. LE retires or to a team that needs to reach the cap floor but doesn't want to pay a whole lot of $$ (OTT ). Baer likely bought out or traded. Maybe packaged with a mid-low tier prospect for a low draft pick. Roussel still has value like Sutter. Could be traded elsewhere for a draft pick. Beagle is a keeper. We don't have a 4th line center that is also a face off king. None of the prospects can do what Beagle does.
  9. Unfortunately Ferland has a NMC for the first 2 years and a limited NTC for the last 2 (submits 8 teams no trade list). Unless Ferland does Canucks a solid and waived it, he's not going anywhere.
  10. I wouldn't fault him for any of the goals. 1st was a cross crease pass. 2nd was a Weber blast through a maze of players. 3rd was a bad bounce of Huggy right to Hab player in the slot.
  11. After LE signing bonus 1st + LE to Ottawa for whatever. Use the cap space to re-sign Toffoli.
  12. Honestly, if LE doesn't retire after his signing bonus, I wouldn't mind if JB traded a 1st + LE to another team if it means we can re-sign Toffoli. Just imagine: Miller EP Brock Pearson Bo Tofu ??? Gaudette JV Motte Beagle ??? We could potentially have 7-9 players with 20 goals next season.
  13. I envision JB will try to keep most of the roster intact while trying to shed replaceable players. Lind shows promise but until he gets a sniff at the NHL level, he's a prospect and a bargaining chip. Is he a blue chip prospect?? Don't know. We can get a sense of which prospect is next in line if they bring someone up for a few games. Might not happen though if Canucks are battling for a playoff spot. I think the following are players on their way out in a couple of years: LE, Roussel, Sutter, Beagle, Baer. They were brought in as a stop-gap and provide veteran leadership. Now the trick is to get younger cheaper replacements for them.
  14. According to Capfriendly... He's 20yr old, 5'11" and 150lbs. Probably will add 20lbs at most (like you said). So 170lbs. He would have to be strong on his skates and shifty (like Johnny Gaudreau and Mitch Marner) or become a role player (like Motte ..but Motte is already at 195lbs) to make in the NHL. Success in NCAA or AHL doesn't always translate to success in the NHL.
