  1. Murray shows up as about $4.7M x 2yrs for the Leafs on Capfriendly. TO bargin basement hunting for goalies.
  2. Lol. Ottawa is paying picks to get rid of a goalie. Should be a clear indication that Murray is no longer a #1 goalie. Wonder how the TO fans can spin this.
  3. Wow. One good season of just 50pts get him $6M+ x 8yrs. Think that is an overpayment. Some posters on CDC think Boeser was overpaid was only worth $5M.
  4. COL has 16 players signed and $20M cap space. They just won the cup. Embarrassment of riches.
  5. Truthfully, don’t want Malkin as well. He’s 35yr old and had 2 surgeries on his right knee. He only played 41 games last year but still got 42 pts. Think injuries are catching up to him.
  6. But Miller probably wants a 7-8yr deal and not a 4yr deal. That’s the difference.
  7. CHI is trading all their young upcoming players (Dach and DeBrincat). Letting Kubalik go to UFA (even though he’s RFA). They may have said they don’t believe in tanking. But doesn’t seem that way.
  8. Maybe Nashville wants to go deep in the playoffs. Seems like they always have trouble scoring. Miller (50%) + Dickinson for Fabbro + Trenin + Glass + 1st 2023 (top 10 protected) Nashville gets a top F at a cheap cap hit and a defensively sound C/W. Canucks get a young RHD with top 4 potential, a coveted 1st, and a few young project players.
  9. CHI is tanking hard next season for Bedard.
  10. Breakout year in a contract year. Kempe has hardly shown steady progress if he averaged 30ish points the previous 3 years. However he did get 35g which in itself is an achievement. Maybe he will repeat his goal scoring. Maybe not. If he goes back to his previous point production of 30pts, the contract will look very bad. Time will tell.
  11. Kempe had a breakout year. 78gp 35g 19a 54pts All the previous years were far below that. When he made the roster full time he has 16g and 37pts. The rest of the years were 28pts, 32pts, and 29pts. Boeser has been a near consistent 20g 50pt player since joining the Canucks. Context matters.
  12. We’ve seen teams push that can down the road all the time. Figure now and worry later.
  13. Meh… Seems like Vegas is always wanting to be in the finals. Miller offers them a 1-2 punch in centre depth. Karlsson play has fallen off a cliff and has been steadily declining the past 4 years. I can see them trying to get rid of that albatross contract to make room for Miller.
  14. Vegas deal… Miller (50%) + Myers for Roy + Hague + Theodore Vegas is desperate to make it back to the playoffs. Canucks get solid players back without taking too much of a step back.
  15. I hope you’re right. $7.75M x 8yrs is giving the team a “discount”. Even $8M x 8yrs would be a “discount”. While Miller would be productive at the beginning of the contract, he’s likely to be falling near the last few years of the contract. Might require trading 1sts and prospects to get rid of his contract. Or if he still performs well, Canucks may recoup picks and prospects.
  16. After the Forsberg deal…can’t see Miller accepting anything less than $8.5M x 8yrs.
  17. But what is Millers camp thinking? If I’m Miller, the thought would be…I’m only 2yrs older and I’m the better player. So why is that guy getting paid more than me??
  18. No. Got to think Miller is wanting at least $60M. So that’s…. $7.5M x 8yrs $8.5M x 7yrs $10M x 6yrs
  19. So now that one of the big UFA signed, what is Miller worth now? I’m thinking it has to be in the $8.5-9.5M range x 8yrs at least.
  20. Canucks with Clark = goaltending factory.
  21. Getting bigger and bigger!!!
  22. Must be something wrong in the locker room. Dude had 50pts last year with the Canes. So obviously he can get points on the ice. But he was just traded for picks only. And he was only offered a 2yr contract from the Flyers.
