Yup.
Fiala had a breakout year and cashed in big. Previous years he put similar point totals to Boeser.
One would think Boeser should be getting around $7M x 7yrs just by looking at Fiala deal.
I just said you were right that you can’t call Boeser a 30g scorer because he hadn’t achieve that yet.
But it’s also not wrong of other posters saying “on pace”…
Both statements can be true.
It’s called projections (“on pace”). Much like how you “projected” JV could easily replace Boeser a few years ago. It was possible but didn’t turn out that way. Same as people saying (projecting) Garland would get an extra 15-20pts if he replaced Boeser on PP1.
But I agree Boeser is not a 30g scorer yet. But he is a consistent 20g scorer 50pt player with some upside.
I liked the LA choice but gun-shy on Turcotte as he got his 2nd concussion this year that made him miss the AHL playoffs. So went with NJ choice and hope for a top 10 pick.
Miller is probably waiting to see what Gaudreau and Forsberg get as UFA. That will be the ballpark that Miller will probably want on his next contract.
Yeah. Depends on the team making that offersheet.
If a team like CAR or FLA, the pick would be in the 20s. If BUF or NJ, the pick would be possibly in the top 5.
Yup.
Something JB (and Linden) should have started 8 yrs ago. Full tear down, weaponize cap space, etc. I think the Canucks would be turning the corner with the youth movement probably around now (if they drafted and traded well).
Me too.
For me…I’m in between. It all depends on the $$ and term.
$8M x 5yrs is the target I would hope to see Miller re-sign at. Unfortunately I don’t think that will get it done. So then it becomes trading Miller for the best return.
