  1. Aman looks re-charged. Team is playing with an extra gear right now...see how long they can sustain it
  2. 95% chance there is no truth to this whatsoever. 100% chance that if it IS true then........:
  3. Well if your intention was to post a topic where pretty much everyone will agree with you, mission accomplished.
  4. It's so true though, everyone you listed have been grade A human beings, but they were passive, quiet leaders. You could even call them "soft" players, they played with skill and sportsmanship but got pushed around and never pushed back. We were lucky to have all them as players, but one could argue perhaps the captaincy should have been given to a player with more to say on and off the ice. It's ok to talk about the bad, there shouldn't be hurt feelings in an NHL locker room. The country club atmosphere is still something I think about, it does feel like it's been that way for a long time.
  5. I was bald, I still am....but I used to be...too.
  6. Reaves is pretty useless now days honestly. He'll be out of the league in a year or two.
  7. It doesn't necessarily mean we need fighters or enforcers......it's how we play as a team. It's being hard to play against, tough on pucks, hard on the boards etc. It doesn't mean 3 fighting majors a game, it means play hard nosed hockey and winning puck battles and not folding under adversity or when you're down a goal or two.
  8. 100% - Mikheyev was also playing with a partially torn ACL, he has more to give than he could show this year. At the end of the day, if we switched out Bo for a better defensive two-way player for half as much $$ - that's not a bad thing.
  9. That's exactly it, he got paid based on this pace this season rather than his historical production....or his pace this season has inflated the number. Bo is certainly going to slow down scoring wise, it's inevitable. It's the classic contact year bump, it never sustains.
  10. Lou said it himself....too long and for too much money. This is the new NHL though, If I were a GM I'd be pretty concerned about how these contracts are getting longer and longer. It's a bad idea.
  11. Delia looking at the defensive pairings tonight:
  12. It means our new coach is going to reward players based on their play and effort, not the name on the back of their jersey.
  13. Dakota Joshua has one less goal while playing almost 7 minutes less per game and no PP time. Brock is not a Swiss army knife, if he's not scoring he doesn't have alot of value otherwise, no matter how many secondary assists he has. His contract needs to go The end.
  14. Yeah the timing of it would make sense, probably what he means.
  15. Yeah it sure seems that way....IMO it seems to me as the years go on the sports media is getting more and more toxic. Not all of them of course, but many of them now seem to want to meddle in the narrative to gain notoriety or create work for themselves. It's always happened, just seems to be getting more intense since social media has blown up. There just so many pseudo sports journalists or writers out there and their only platform is twitter - it's watered down, like just about everything else these days.
  16. Same thing, calling Bo the "type" of player that can be so good defensively he could win or be nominated for the Selke. No matter what noun you use, putting them in the same sentence is a comparison of abilities. They aren't even on the same planet is that aspect, therefore I don't see him being that "TYPE" of player.
  17. I agree he will be a go to guy for them, but that team doesn't produce very much offense....and I doubt adding Bo is going to drastically turn that around. Bo's a really good player I'm not saying he's not, but I just don't see him being that type of goal scorer in their system but I could be proven wrong.
  18. Bergeron hey? You're saying Bo can turn into a 5-time Selke winning type player? No likely, at all.
  19. The reported offers weren't insulting, they were market value or just above market for his production up until this year. Management wasn't going to overpay on a career year and pay to reflect a scoring pace that is almost certain to slow down. He's now moving to a team where much more is going to be asked of him defensively and a team that plays a way tighter defensive game....I highly doubt Bo is going to score at a pace that warrants $8+ million a year on a team that play a defense first structure. The Isles can go ahead and pay him $8+ million a year if they want me thinks that will end up being very rich in due time.
  20. 100%, take the money and run. I totally standby managements approach to we will pay you for your play and production up to this year but we won't overpay for a scoring pace that's very unlikely to sustain.
  21. Let me get this straight.....after months of trade rumor's, being a UFA next season, rejecting multiple long term offers from the Canucks, teams says they have given their best offer, trade deadline approaching and he was "caught off guard" by the trade????
