  1. Oh lots have, because I've had conversations with them. Not sure what I'm supposed to try again? lol
  2. So, Vancouver trades away 3rds and fans lose their collective minds because "what could have been!" Vancouver receives a 3rd and their reaction is "Meh" This fan base nit picks and flip flops to an obsessive degree lol
  3. Anyone who thought we were getting a 1st for Schenn is stupid. Sorry to be blunt, but it's true.
  4. @King Heffy refuses to acknowledge the difference between offensive minded, puck moving dmen and stay at home defensive defensemen. Every high scoring offensive defenseman also has to be a shut down player all at the same time. Even though, for years and years the league has had both, and teams have both and played them together and have for decades but Heffy doesn't agree!
  5. Well, we are 11 games in now and Beauvillier has been one of our best players. Has this been a quantifiably worse team without Bo? Well, statistically and by the eye test..., this hasn't been a worse team without Bo. I like Bo, still do and wish him the best but the team hasn't crumbled without him.
  6. 100%, we have a lot of guys on a similar tier. This draft will hopefully change that. People are already writing off an 18 year old Lekkerimaki less than a year after being drafted lol we are a fickle bunch.
  7. Majority of those players you listed were ranked behind Lekkerimaki on pretty much every scouting board, so not sure what your point is there?? They should have picked a lower ranked player? Your argument is all over the place. A- You have no idea how those players are going to turn out either - way too early. (Unless, you have a crystal ball?) B - Reaching for positional need has never treated this franchise well...or many others. C - Drafting for immediate need is short sighted and illogical, most players won't compete to be on the team for another 3-5 years. A lot changes between then and now and immediate needs are addressed in other ways (free agency, trades) D - You can discredit NHL central scouting all you want, they know more than you. Not debatable. "to get the players you need in your system." We need talent in our system, period. Those are the players you need in your system, talented players with high upside, plain and simple that's what they did.
  8. They are clearing up cap room first to address the defense. Don't expect huge changes there until the offseason. Not many teams have the room to take on OEL or Myers nor do they want to. Can't improve the back end until the have the flexibility to do so.
  9. There's no way you can judge last year's first round pick (Lekkermiaki) as poor less than 1 year removed from being drafted lol. He's 18 for Christ sake, he's had a rough year injury wise so it's a write off. Not to mention, he was actually picked right where he should have been and was seen as a steal by many....man to give up on a pick so quick is classic Canucks fanbase. He was ranked the 6th best European skater by NHL central scouting was top 10 in most experts final draft boards. To say it was a poor pick already is pretty laughable.
  10. Jordan Schroeder Patrick White Olli Juolevi Nicklas Jensen Brendan Gaunce Hunter Shinkaruk Jared McCann Kole Lind Honorable Mentions: RJ Umberger Josh Holden Nathan Smith Yann Sauve
  11. -Kuzmenko is deadly on deflections -Beauvillier is much more than most expected I imagine
  12. Honestly... Stillman was improving, not dramatically but his game was rounding out a little. He wasn't as bad at the end as most thought, started out rough though 100%.
  13. Islanders sitting at 13th OA in draft order...let's keep it that way. This is going to be an absolutely HUGE draft for this franchise.
  14. Lol, it's funny how a few moves can completely change CDC's view of Allvin in such a short time. He's doing some pretty tidy work this week - more moves to come. Schenn and Boes will be gone by weeks end most likely.
  15. Depletes d core or adds cap space? Depends which way you look at it. Addition by subtraction really.
  16. Pretty simple, defensive depth for the playoffs / push. Someone there, for whatever reason likes Stillman enough to do this.
  17. They need to create cap space flexibility before addressing the blue line, it's a pressing need yes but there's work to be done before the blueline is overhauled.
  18. 3rd rounder from the 2021 draft. Not bad return for dumping some salary too.
  19. Silovs has been solid tonight...looking more confident every start. Too bad we haven't given him much goal support tonight but not all that surprising either.
