  1. I liked the way he played....but honestly looked like a very good AHL er for his projection. He looked ok on our 4th line when our 4th line was playing absolutely terrible. He projects as a 4th line grinder and those aren't hard to find.
  2. To be fair...he's been trying to crack a very deep Rangers forward group...but yeah hasn't lived up to his draft slot. Still young with huge upside
  3. There's honestly times where I'd rather throw in the pick rather than retain the salary. No 1sts or 2nd's, but a 3rd or mid rounder. People tend to inflate the value of 3rd + round picks, but I don't think they want to get into a position where all of a sudden the team has 6 or 7 million in retained salary on the books either. With Brock, and the cap situation other teams are in it's most likely we are retaining salary which is fine because his contract only has 2 years left after this year.
  4. For everyone worried and commenting about Ratys skating....out of anything at the pro level - skating is the easiest to work on and improve upon. Raty is a good player with skill who was a PPG player in Finland's best league...he has time to improve his skating (20 yrs old). Many players have come into the NHL with skating as a area of improvement and have done just that and it's no longer an issue. The important thing is he has skill and hockey IQ and he's quite responsible defensively, the skating can be worked on and likely is being worked on.
  5. Yeah for sure he used to be able to snipe those alot more often. His accuracy has declined significantly. Confidence thing too.
  6. Brock is one dimensional....he's always trying to pick a corner rather than looking for an opening or angle....I've never seen someone miss the net more with grade A chances than him....its insane.
  7. Yes. They had to see what this team could do this season with a full year and camp under Bruce. The way last season ended, with the high winning % and positive play down the stretch under Bruce it would have made no sense to blow this up in the off season. Yes, they should have addressed the blueline in the offseason but the deals likely weren't there or they would have. Have to remember we already have one of the highest paid bluelines in the league, and spending more money back there wouldn't necessarily fix the problem...they would likely have had to move pieces out and my guess is that was the roadblock (OEL, Myers). I don't think they wanted a large, inflated blueline spending number. They needed to see what this team could do this year to really determine which direction to go. It's clear they've obviously seen enough, and the changes have started. Trading your captain pretty much opened the flood gates. I trust Rutherford more than previous regimes here, he has a proven track record and cups with multiple franchises...he hasn't forgot how to do this. He's the best hope we've had in awhile as far as front office personnel go. We can sit here and cut him down all we want, he's a successful NHL executive who's won multiple cups and we haven't
  8. Beavillier - 8 GP, 4G, 3A, 7PTS - .875 PPG Horvat - 8GP, 4G, 2A, 6 PTS - .75 PPG Horvats getting all the love, but Beau has been one of our best players since he was traded here. I'm not saying they'll have a similar PPG with their new team at seasons end, but he's been a pleasant surprise and adds much needed speed, forechecking and defensive abilities to this team - 25 years old to boot.
  9. Stillman isn't as bad as most think he is....hating him is just a trendy thing to do on CDC. I feel he's improving as the year goes along.
  10. 100% by all accounts he's a grade A human being and I wish him the best for sure. He did what's best for him and his family, I could never faultt someone for that.
  11. Yikes lol, that goes to show how jaded I am from CDC because I actually believed you meant that lol. The bar is pretty low I guess..................
  12. They could still trade Miller, don't count it out just yet!
  13. I'm just going on what he wrote, he said he wasn't a proponant for roster change until they traded Bo, which is odd considering how bad the team was without Demko. That's all I'm saying I guess. I didn't think the team was going to be this bad either, it's kind of a shock we are bottom 5 but here we are!
