  1. Beavillier has just as many points in less games...just saying...that means Beavillier is killing it too. I'm not comparing the two's abilities, Bo has been a better player through his career but Beau has been playing very well for us. Horvat...4G, 2A, 6pts in 8 games Beauvilier 4G, 2A 6pts in 7 games The Isles are a aging team on the decline, likely miss the playoffs this year and have a closing compete window. Trading for Bo didn't really do much for them honestly. The trade itself is widely regarded as very fair for both sides. Lou himself is on record saying the extension is for too much money and too long of a term but he did it anyway lol
  2. No, I read it correctly. He said once they moved Bo the need to change the roster is now inevitable. Which came much after not having Demko and therefore showing what this team really was. My comment stands, how can you see that Demko propped this team up and it's really a bottom 5 or 6 team but not want roster change?
  3. Just curious, you said above that you're not a proponent for major roster changes but also say that it's clear Demko hid/hides a lot of this teams major issues and this is what they really are. If that's the truth, how can you not be a proponent of major roster change? Seems contradictive.
  4. I was trying to convince people before this season (who were saying this was a playoff team yadda yadda) that Demko single handily stole many of those games for us down the stretch last year. He hid a lot of this teams deficiencies, he faced a TON of pucks last year and played lights out. Without stellar goaltending, this is what you get with this team.
  5. The first goal was weak definitely, the rest he didn't have much of a chance.
  6. Canucks blueline to Silovs before the game...."Hey Arturs -just a heads up, you're on your own tonight..ok? Good luck."
  7. They are the second oldest team in the league I believe, their window is closing - likely already closed. I just hope they win a few and keep their pick out of the top 12...I don't see them being much better next year so if they do pick in the top 12 this year then their pick next year will probably be a decent pick too.
  8. 27+ Mins is a lot, but out of all that ice time he had no points and only 2 shots on net. Context is important. He's playing well down there, time will tell if it's actually worth the money though.
  9. Yeah he's playing very well in Abbotsford and he's a pretty good prospect...just never know what to expect with young goalies. He's earned a shot to play especially this situation...just makes me worry haha.
  10. Pray for Silovs.... In all seriousness I'm really excited to see someone in net bedsides Delia and Martin tonight. I can only hope the guys play extra hard in front of the net to give Silovs a fighting chance.
  11. Except this is normal and players get into it at practice all the time. This is just fear mongering and throwing gas on the fire for no reason.
  12. 100%, drafting is also about picking guys to compliment a lineup or add something your system doesn't have. Most drafts only have 3 or 4 players that can come in right away and make a difference. We obviously need to take the best players available, but they really need to stock up the back end if they can. There's aren't many Den ranked in the top 10, if any but I hope they can take one if the Islanders pick falls past 12.
  13. It's about much more than how many "foundational" players there are....it's about depth,. and depth of quality players at each position.
  14. No, just well earned ire from a fan base still being haunted by his poor decisions.
  15. Honestly, wouldn't mind seeing Silovs start a few games here before Demko is back...just something fresh. I don't really expect him to do much better than Delia with our defensive play, which worries me because we also don't want to throw the kid to the wolves and kill his confidence. It's crazy how much better NYR roster is than ours, holy moly.
  16. Someone told me a couple weeks ago they will never cheer for a loss, because they are a real fan. I argue that is short sighted and narrow minded, a real fan wants what's best for the team and it's future.....and what's best for the team and it's future is drafting the best players possible in the upcoming draft. Winning games down the stretch achieves absolutely nothing for this franchise, other than "moral" victories. If this management group didn't have this draft in mind, they would have addressed the goaltending weeks ago.
  17. As an assistant G.M, let's not start creating a narrative that he built those Boston teams single handily, because he didn't. Besides, what he did in Boston is irrelevant....it's what he did here that matters, no?
