  1. Both Quinn and Jett dominating tonight and we win 5-1. Can tonight get any better?
  2. When Guddy decides he is going to make certain teams pay the price physically, he is worth every penny. Trouble is, I think even Guddy will agree that he hasn't played his best hockey in Vancouver. Where is the issue and what is the disconnect? Is his role not being clearly defined? Compounded injuries leading to an inconsistent physical presence? Trying to change the way he plays? I have no idea at this point. We all see that he is capable to be that big intimidating character, but more often than not the willingness is not there. How can we get Guddy to unleash the beast more frequently, or will we truly see his final form come playoffs?
  3. What do you mean when you say you were right about Juolevi? Please explain. You seem to have a strong negative opinion about our defensive prospects, I think we would like to know how you drew your conclusions. What about Quinn's play do you see not translatable to the NHL? If you're talking about 2019 WJC many here will agree that he was not asked to do much more than play a simplified game that focused on zone entries/exits. If you watch him in College hockey he plays a much looser, rover-type style and the points speak for themselves as to how effective he is there. I think essentially we are almost all in agreement (If you actually watch Quinn play) that he can skate at an elite level, think Hockey at an elite level and most importantly, adapt a playstyle that incorporates all of his tools to be as effective as he can at any level, against any competition. That is a sign of maturity to me and a very good indication of a high end talent for many years to come.
  4. Nothing to be ashamed of Mikey. You reminded me of Jonathan Quick, very impressed. Keep it up man we have high hopes. Gold medal doesn't compare to a Stanley Cup Ring anyways.
  5. Ahhh I remember him being injured for several consecutive seasons in a row in his early years. I think he was pretty much constantly dealing with injuries in his prime years because everyone made him a target... I hope that isn't the case for Petey but I am starting to understand what Pittsburgh had to go through and it really sucks... Get well soon Petey we miss you already.
  6. I think I am starting to understand how Pittsburgh felt through all of Crosby's early years...
  7. Mikey's standing on his head again tonight guys...
  8. Haha, good question. I don't really want to see Goldy go but I have a feeling he will be gone before the deadline. As for Edler, Tanev, Sutter, Schaller and Gagner, I honestly have no idea, lol. At the very least, I know Benning is not going to pull a Chiarelli.
  9. I like this deal. We are loading up on draft picks in a very good draft year. Dipietro has been looking solid and may very well fill Demko's role in Utica next season. We got an NHL vet as well as a draft pick for a goalie we knew was not in our long term plans. Good job Benning.
  10. Really? To be honest neither of them have really stood out to me. It's too bad because at last year's WJC draft eligibles like Zadina, Dahlin and even Quinn made an impression pretty quickly. I'm hoping Jack and Kappo really pick it up or they may really not be locks for the top 2 by the 2019 Draft...
  11. I gotta say after watching the USA vs Slovakia game today, Quinn impressed me much more than Jack.
  12. Hughes was the pick everyone (Or at least the consensus) wanted. That's it though. Also, we need a player like Virtanen if we want to make a deep run into the playoffs. You all saw how ineffective a player like Nylander was for the leafs last year in the first round. I'm not saying I'd rather have Virtanen over Nylander. However, I am happy with how Jake has turned out and it looks like he is only getting better and better every year. As for Juolevi, well he hasn't even made the team yet. Even if he never does, why can't we get over the fact that not every pick is going to work out and just move on? We got the best player in the 2017 draft picking 5th overall, a Calder finalist from the 2015 draft picking 23rd overall, a 200ft workhorse Center who is going to be our Captain from the 2013 draft picking 9th overall, and a potentially franchise changing/defining #1 PMD from the 2018 draft at 7th overall. Is that not good enough for some of you here? Or does not having Matthew Tkachuk really affect you that heavily? If so, you are more than welcome to cheer for the Calgary Flames. It looks like they are doing better than us this year too, no need to be so upset at Benning anymore. Just go, lol.
  13. No Jake Wise? What are the Benning haters going to do? *Looks at the Juolevi thread* Oh there they are.
  14. Guys, if we pick top 10 what are your thoughts on Raphael Lavoie? Big 6'4" 200lbs winger who has great hands and a great shot. He can fight too. Check out this video:
  15. Jake! So proud of you. Keep it up.
  16. Good call! I was looking at him too but it currently seems like he may go top 10, high chance top 15 at the very least. If we could jump up that high for our second pick it'd be great! Or maybe we'll have an overachieving season and not pick out of the top 10...
  17. We need to take Tag Bertuzzi. He can protect Elias like Todd protected Markus (Minus the punch to the back of the head). If we need to trade up for a late first to get him then so be it. (He is currently ranked #29 in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by Future Considerations) I want to see Tag and Elias on the same line. It will be like the West Coast Express 2.0. JB PLEASE! Tag is already 6'1" and 200 lbs. He still has LOTS of time to get even bigger and will be a big boy in the NHL one day. Please Canucks Scouts, please be reading this.
  18. Funny thing about this guy is, I really don't think hes done growing taller. Last year he was 6'2", this year he is 6'3". Can you imagine him being 6'4"+ and 200lbs+ in his prime? LOL, good luck to anyone who tries to mess with him. Someone that big with the playstyle of Pavel Datsyuk... OMG, is this the hockey Gods paying us back for all those unlucky draft years after all!?
  19. Our boy Quinn looking older already! Season opener this Saturday vs. Vermont! #GoBlue
  20. LOL, was watching draft videos of our current core and guess who I find making a guest appearance when DiPietro gets drafted by us in 2017. P.S. Quinn stop staring at Mikey's butt!
  21. Last year I REALLY wanted Hughes because I knew Dahlin would never come to us. This year, as much as I would LOVE Jack on the team I think I would almost be as happy if we somehow landed Kakko. I've been watching this kid for awhile now and he is the real deal, a total package. Very likely he is NHL ready next year.
  22. Plays 1 pre-season game and is injured now with a bone bruise that is week to week. May not even start the season healthy anymore. God, I really think it's time to go Louie.
  23. As much as I would love Jack on the team, I have to say I'm a huge fan of Kakko. Would be over the moon if he came to Vancouver.
