  1. Yeah.... Wolf is a solid prospect for Calgary for sure. Cochella playing very well too. I personally am hoping that Abby plays either the Reign or the Roadrunners in the 1st round and that is what it looks to be shaping up as. Also hoping for an upset of the Wranglers and/or Firebirds in the 1st but not expecting that to happen.
  2. Later on today I will have a look at how others on the team fared vs Calgary. They may well be facing them at some point in the playoffs.
  3. Just noticed an interesting stat from the all games that Linus has played in. He is a collective -10 vs Calgary and +2 vs all the other teams they have played. Anyone have suggestions as to why?
  4. By this announcement I am guessing that Jake Kupsky is still out with an injury.
  5. Darren's parents; Axel & June Jensen were friends of mine. I spent a lot of time at Paul's Superette; the store they owned. Anyways; this is the Lekkermaki thread and we should get back on topic. Lekkermaki is still young and there is time for him to mature and grow yet. How he handles all the adversity thrown his way will in large part shape his future as a hockey player.
  6. He looked to be set to have a very promising career. He is not the only young prospect to die before his time. Flames prospect George Pelawa died in a car crash as did a European goaltender; Pelle Lindberg, that played for Philly if memory serves me correctly. A young goaltender from the East Kootenay (Darren Jensen) had to fill in until they found someone to replace him.
  7. No. I wish the NHL had a similar method that the AHL does where they could sign a minor league player to a PTO or ATO contract. Sign Vinny to a PTO bring him up for a few games then release him back to his AHL team. Would only be part of the 50 contract limit while with the big club. One can dream lol.
  8. Abby will be in the playoffs. Would take a monumental crash for them not to be.
  9. Really depends on how long Kupsky is expected to be out. They will probably sign a ECHL goalie to a ATC until he is back up and able to play. Meanwhile Silovs will continue to carry the bulk of the games in net.
  10. @DeNiromentioned that he would not be playing tonight in the Abby thread.
  11. He must have been doing something right as he was kept on as an assistant coach in St. Lo. under four different coaching changes ( Kitchen, Murray, Payne and Hitchcock).
  12. The loss of Brad Shaw and Scott Walker as assistant coaches was huge. Replacements were not up to the task IMO.
  13. I have my doubts that he is signed and will become a UFA on June 1st.
  14. His shipping out to the ECHL was not a good sign especially where he is at in his ELC. Nychuk is a bit more questionable but my own opinion is that he is not re-signed.
  15. I noted that when you said at some point. Call ups will be best served next year, IMO, if any of them are deserving. Really would like the prospects to have a good run at the Calder this year.
  16. The main club is a bit of a write off this year so I would much rather see Raty stay down in Abby for the season. They could really use his skills down there right now. Losing Pederson to waivers and having Dries up with the big club has really hurt the depth on the farm.
  17. Skilled but very young (turned 20 last fall); not sure what to expect from him right now.
  18. I have a gut feeling that his tenure here is going to be short lived. I do not see him as a long term fit but more of a way for the teams to balance out both value and cap hit. Isles would want to move cap out in order to fit Bo in. Personally, IMO, he gets moved either as a package deal before the TDL or over the summer. I do not expect to see him as part of the team next fall.
  19. I hope so too. With the Sedin's assisting in coaching him he could be a real steal. He is only 20 so lots of time to fully develop him IMO.
  20. They will see Tuscon again soon as well as Calgary and Colorado in Feb. Those will be some tough games IMO. Will need Silovs to be at his best.
  21. Yes; but he was on for 4 even strength against. Not a good stat for a vet.
